I am having a hard time making my SMB3 hack have a diffrent TSA value in question blocks, Note that i know ASM. It is hard to find in both a HEX editor or FCEUXD SP v1,07!
Does anyone know how to find TSA values in FECUXD SP? -Hamtaro126 ____________________ Mah boi, romhacking is what all true warriors strive for! I wonder what's for dinner? |

Wait, you "know ASM" and are stumbling over something that's beginner level, at most?

Here's a TSA editor for SMB3, get it here. Hopefully it'll help you out...

Posted by Sliver X I know how to ROM hack, and I am still learning how to ASM hack. Here is a simple and more detailed response: I want to know how to trace TSA values using FECUCD SP (Attribures/TSA hex number, not the TSA tiles themselves) Do I have to go to debug, make a breakpoint for PPU instead of CPU? ____________________ Mah boi, romhacking is what all true warriors strive for! SMB3's TSA data works as so:
all TSA data starts on an xx010 page, the xx is the beginning of a data area. Example: Plains levels are between 0x1E010 and 0x200F, the TSA data for plains levels starts at 0x1E010. The first 0x100 bytes correspond to the upper left hand tiles of every tile. (i.e. tile value 0x45 will get its upper left hand value from 0x1E055). Upper right hand is the next 0x100 and so on. All TSA save for a VERY VERY FEW EXCEPTIONS works this way. The exceptions being dynamically altered TSA when items are activated (blocks, P-switches, coins, etc) |

I should of said this specifically instead of saying that on the title and stuff, but here goes:
What I meant is, how can you change the tile's attributes (Like an attribute table)? If it requires ASM, then teach me (or/and make a document/engine) Note that an attribute table should work in order of the TSA tiles. If anyone makes a version for both SMB1 and SMB3, then I would appreciate it! ____________________ Mah boi, romhacking is what all true warriors strive for! I wonder what's for dinner? |
