Some of you may remember me (mostly the oldies). I don’t know how much of the original Acmlm Board community is left here. I know it’s gone through several incarnations, from hell with Xkeeper as the main admin when it was on acmlm.org, to Xkeeper hell here, and now I see that you’re free of that hell.
The whole reason the community had multiple incarnations, the whole reason it split after what, the 3rd one – well, that’s gone I see. Acmlm removed Xkeeper of his admin rights. I will not say “I told you so” or “I saw it coming” even if I did. Even though I was banned the first time Xkeeper demolished the board in a similar fashion to what happened again (this is at least the 3rd time he’s wiped the board’s database). Regardless of what has happened in the past, we’re now faced with an even larger issue as a community: not two, but now three boards. I’ve seen it happen to other communities in the past and, after a split, it’s always difficult to recover. What usually happens is one community thrives, and the other sinks rapidly to the bottom of the internets, only occasionally brought up with a “Hello” or “Buy Viagra” post. So we have 3 communities now – acmlm.org (aka ||board), acmlm.no-ip.org (aka “Board II”), and Xkeeper’s Place (aka “Tantrum Center with dictator admin”). Perhaps a community merge can take place? I’ve discussed this with ||bass. We would welcome Acmlm and blackhole as board developers (as much as I may disagree with blackhole), and even be willing to sacrifice our database with the importation of yours. In return, we can host the board and have it return to its rightful name (acmlm.org). Of course, the communities (acmlm.org and acmlm.no-ip.org’s) would be merged back together. Together, we were a very fun and active community, and we could remain as such. Our policy on ||board is quite simple: Don’t flood. Don’t advertise. That’s pretty much it. We wouldn’t ban people for “Being stupid” nor for “Flaming”. It’s the internet, after all: You’re bound to have “Stupid” users, and “Flaming” users. If they cannot learn to get along, then they will leave on their own. Of course, we haven’t had serious issues on ||board with these, but hell – we’re not overly active anyway. So, my proposal is Acmlm’s ||board II. Or maybe just Acmlm’s ||board. Not only are you all welcome to come over to our side, we’re willing to make concessions needed for you and whatever needed to bring you back our way! Let the past be just that. Together, we could surpass our former glory. A fun community with a fun board is the aim of both of our communities. Not a dictator-run board with a narrow, self-centered staff (or head admin). Despite what you may believe or have heard about myself, ||bass, or FreeDOS, we are very friendly, intelligent, and open people who don’t throw temper tantrums, and don’t “Plant bombs” in the board software to destroy databases on a given date/time (for the 3rd time). Well, what say ye, the goers of Board II? Now that the entire reason you left us (Xk’s temper tantrum) is in the past, shall we re-combine? |

2) Your very first post here and you ignore the stickied "Introduce yourself here! Don't clog up General Chat..." thread  ITS THERE FOR A REASON
4) Xkeeper is cool, he kept the board sane 5) bh, not Acmlm (who doesn't give a shit about the board it seems and doesn't do anything at all) removed Xk from power 6) Like hell we'll merge with you guys, see point 1 7) Jul is a sort-of laid back place actually, but there are rules as like here (although lately they seem rather unenforced) 8) If we WERE to combine with ||board this place would go to hell in under a month and little if any intelligence would be left to find For tl;dr: GTFO ||board !! ____________________ |

Actually I meant to type 3) instead of 4) but who cares about typos.
I may go to Xk's board but I'm not abandoning this place. I will admit there is a LITTLE bit of intelligent posting on ||board, but no more than 5% of the posts there are intelligent. If you require I can get some examples? You think the board will survive the merger but check out ||board, there's usually no more than 13 posts per DAY. That doesn't bode well for ab2 if it combines with ||board. ____________________ |

Well, hi. I don't particularly dislike you but, in general, I have to agree with what NightKev said. Xk was a pretty good admin, and the Jul is hardly “Tantrum Center with dictator admin”.  As far as merging with ||board goes, I generally don't like the idea, it was mostly stupid, and now it's mostly dead, there seems no reason to merge, at all. Not to insult you, but this seems to me as just a desperate attempt to revive ||board. I don't think this palce would go to hell though, since ||board is pretty much dead at this point.
In response to the reply you posted as I was typing this: -||board doesn't have much in the ways of intelligent posts either, you seem smart enough, but that doesn't speak of the majority -People can change. Seriously. -No, a good number of people are actually staying active on both communities(Jul and ABII), I am one of them. Directed to Tomguy. ____________________ There are things I want to put here. Like a cool picture, my 8-bit theatre character test result, my MS and RO characters... But it's 12 AM, and I'm sleepy. |
