I was wondering if somebody could make a Pokemon Program that covers all 4 Generations of Pokemon Games and all near 500 Pokemon with the game play running from Kanto to current league and you battle the Elite 4 to get to the next Generation game play. - Like beat Red and Blue to advance to Gold And Silver. THen beat Gold And Silver to advance to Ruby and Sapphire. Then advance to Diamond and Pearl.

The 4 Generations being interconnected and this needs to run on Windows 95 to Vista so older users can play.

That would require so much programming knowledge it wouldn't even be funny. In short, No.

Not to be an ass or anything, but requesting a project like this is kind of ludicrous. Could it be done? Of course it could be done; you should be able to answer that on your own. But seriously, consider the amount of work required for the project you just proposed; no one is going to consider it just because you proposed it. This isn't a forum for asking people to do major projects like this, but rather to ask for help in doing your own projects, as well as showing off your own work. Ideas like this are a dime a dozen, require overwhelming amounts of work, and typically aren't very thought-through. As most people have their own ideas of things to do, you're best off trying to make this yourself if you want to see it done. I also recommend you refrain from posting more idea threads of this sort, since they're not really going to be helpful for anyone.

On a side note, although that request was clearly retarded... Retro compatibility is overrated. Who cares about Windows 95 ? Struggling to stay compatible with old versions of Windows is more trouble than it's worth. It's much too restricive, as you can't use some of the newer technology which would make your life much easier, or get better performances.

That sounds so retarded. Why is Misty in the Elite 4? And a character? This screams "Iam pokeyman n00b". No.

Wait, Simango, did you even read the replies in this thread, or did you see that people had replied and then assumed it was time to post more of this junk?

Posting requests in this forum is not good. You need help with something? Fine. Ask your question and someone might help you. You want someone to make some ridiculously in-depth PC game? Not fine. Not only is what you're discussing not ROM hacking, but no one in their right mind will do this for you. The people who are capable enough to do it do not care. You want to get some good attention in this forum? Start learning how to hack ROMs, ask questions, and show your progress as you go along.

We're not here to please you.

stuff
Fire Red, Leaf Green, Emerald, Crystal, and Yellow don't really count as separate games. Fire Red/Leaf Green are just Red and Blue ported to the R/S engine, after all, while Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald are just their respective generation modified slightly.

If anything, I'd consider the main games of the generations to be Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald, if nothing else for the enhancements made for each one.

(Honestly, how does the wussy little gymleader from Cerulean come anywhere near being champion material, anyway? The complete lack of Blue as a character disappoints me, as well.)

Well he was just listing the games from each generation so I pointed out the ones he forgot.

That Yellow , Crystal and Emerald isn't a bad idea. Too bad there isn't a Generation 4 Special Edition yet or I'd add it too.

The point of my project would be so you can follow the story of the Anime from Indigo to the present league.

And for gods sake, part of the charm with the Pokémon games is the trading thing. Putting it on PC would isolate it from the other games as well.
It would be isolated from the official games but it's not as if the "Pokemon PC" games couldn't communicate to each other through the internet.

Also, we would pretty much have 6+ level 100 pokemon by the second elite four, and so the rest of the game would be Lv100 pokemon only, which would probably get a little boring.

Well there's no reason a remake from scratch couldn't boost the max level to like 300 or so, though it might break the level-up algorithms.

Indeed so. There are eight level-up gradients, of which six are used. Somewhere in the game, I know where, is a set of 808 32-bit unsigned values. These are the raw amounts of Experience points required to reach a given level. One hundred levels + initial zero. It would indeed break.

Level ups past 100 would be unbalanced?
