I have watched both sides, and I knew this would happen from day 1 of Blackhole's thing. Xkeeper cannot get along with hosts who assert their own views.
Here's what happened: Blackhole bailed Xk out of the whole ||bass server space losing thing. Naturally, he expected some sway in exchange for forum space. Xk either did not notice or ignored it, but over time Blackhole insisted more. With the movement off of Espernet, Blackhole seized the initiative and told Xk to move to his network. I knew Xk would disagree and told him it'd create issues, but he went anyway. I even stayed on the Espernet one to try to prevent this kind of collision. I told him over and over again to either assert himself or pull out. He finally pulled out, and that's the simple story; this happened because of a misunderstanding of whether or not, as a host, Blackhole had power over Acmlm's. Naturally, property is 9/10ths of the law, so Blackhole wins as ||bass did before. I do not believe there is any 'right' side, mostly misunderstandings everywhere. The paint is on the wall: Acmlm is not here and the community has no real leader at the moment. How this is handled... is up to Blackhole, who decided he would inherit Xk's burden. Be careful, Blackhole--it's a widowmaker. |

Pretty much.
It's basically a matter of two people not getting along and then dragging the whole forum along for the ride. About what you'd expect from the community staff in question. We've been through this before. I'd just sit back and watch the show. Should get interesting soon enough. |

Perhaps instead of arguing, we should fix things. I would think a little mediation in this situation would go a very long way. |

I came in late and missed the meat of what happened. It's just a shame to see this happened again.

In further thinking, this fighting is ridiculous. When we started, Acmlm's was more or less Xkeeper's thing. Acmlm decides it isn't anymore, but that's on the basis of something Blackhole did to aggravate Xkeeper. On the other hand, Xkeeper's bomb and other things he did were wrong...
We should try to set things back to how they would be without this petty arguing. I applaud the board not (totally) exploding, however I don't think that means opening the floodgates to people who were banned before or hiring a bunch of random staff people so they can conflict too. Naturally Xkeeper cannot lead if Acmlm chooses so, but I'd really want to see what Acmlm has to say on this matter. I'm not sure if he saw both sides or had any real time to think on this, which would cause a stop-gap solution. And none of us want to be around when something like that cuts loose on us. |

The only question is what WOULD Ace have to say?
He hasn't been part of this forum since '03 effectively...if you don't count the sporadic off and on times that he's actually done a few things. Actually using him as a device for something like this is not really the smartest thing but at the same time unblockable because of him being the creator of this forum. As long as Ace doesn't actually take hold of the reins of this forum this situation will continue to happen. There is and will never be a clear cut administration until that factor is fixed. I've been saying that for years and it has continued to go unchecked. But hey, what do I know? |

Well, this is new.
Both sides here have variously annoyed and disappointed me. Normally it's just one side. Congratulations, you both suck. I expected more asseriveness (see Metal_Man's first post) from Xkeeper, and more "knowing how to stay the fuck out of the way" from blackhole. I'm annoyed, though not at all disappointed (as that implies expecting differently), that Acmlm appears to have not once stepped up and commented on the board. I'd continue on, but those are the three important ones. I'm going to stick around for a bit and see what happens. One closing comment: blackhole, if you continue attempting to run this board, at least learn from the past. I doubt you will, however. |

Acmlm got angry because I fiddled with Millybot, from what I can tell.
The man does not speak his feelings. You have to annoy him enough that you put a dent in his RO time before he responds... and when he does, he usually agrees with whatever you say just to get you to leave him alone. It's not a nice opinion, but over the years, it's the one I've formed... and it fits him rather well, sadly. ____________________ I dealt with it. |

By the by, if you guys upstairs haven't figured it out yet, this thread's heading in a negative direction.
If you want to announce whatever restaff options you want, do so in another thread. This thread is drama llama fodder and deserves closure. Reopening it is probably going to ask for more trouble. Leave this alone, do what you will. Keeping this open is just going to ask for more immaturity. |
