But wait, what about reverse psychology? Making it a tiny link increases their curiosity, and calling it "Don't click here" makes it even more of an attraction. Which persuasion technique to use? Might as well, since it's even the popular thing to do for people who've been here longer than I.
I'm MaxKnight, a currently unemployed Programming Grad who enjoys his fair share of games, probably more often than he should. I'm also a very small-time ROM-Hacker, though I do less hacking than basically everyone else here. The only real work I've done is fix a small, single byte problem with Phantasy Star IV, of which the documentation of the actual thing happening has been lost (that is, the thread I posted in about it on GameFAQs dropped off the boards there... stupid missed bump...). I was also (kinda) working on disassembling Dragon Warrior for a while, but I got sidetracked, and the guy I was working with didn't have time for it, so meh... EDIT3 (yes, before the first two edits...): I suppose I could mention how I found this place. I'd seen the old board (before it had moved to this URL) several times in the past, usually as a link from romhacking.net. As recently as a couple of weeks before the 3rd incarnation's meltdown, I decided to join, as I had programming questions I wished to ask (I believe it was Sukasa who helped me, too). I can't help but notice you misspelled "pleased", "you", and in general forgot to seperate your sentences with real periods. As stated in the FAQ, you should use proper grammar because this will give the impression of being smart.

I am RANDY. I always write my name like that (I guess I just never switched to lowercase letters like everyone else). I got first place in the AATM State Math Contest all 4 years in high school & was the valedictorian (though I was mysteriously popular & only missed homecoming king by a few votes). I currently write programs in my spare time & am studying Computer Science in college (though I have no clue what job I actually eventually want - just something with programming). I am the ruler of the dimension of Zexernet, which currently does not have any physical presence due to a lack of technology.
I have occasionally wandered into Acmlm's ROM Hack Domain in the past (I have no idea which version I first saw, though it was red & blue & hosted at overclocked.org). I started making an editor for SMA2 about 2 weeks ago (details in the SMW Hacking section), though I am about to go on vacation for 3 weeks, so it will have to wait. I also decompiled the decompressor for the SMA4 level card levels & then saw that someone else already had (d'oh!). I am taking a printout with me on this vacation in hopes of writing a compressor (though it might be hard (or at least slow) using just my TI-92+). These 2 things finally convinced me to join. |
