I don't know if you people knew already but someone released a disassembly at nesdev of Super Mario Bros with notes of what the operations are doing, so you could understand what's going on.

I'll have to look at this, there's one thing about SMB that bothers me, and it's when you choose what form Bowser turns into when you kill him with fire. I wanna change him into a fire bar but when he changes the fire bar stays still, it doesn't turn.

Hopefully these notes will help me out, thank you for them.

Don't thank me thank the guy who made it!

It's wonderful. I can't exactly understand asm completely but I use that document for very good info on how stuff is done and what data is there.

The only effect I've accomplished was for mario to go to the next level as soon as he leaves the pole.

It wasn't what I really wanted though, I wanted it more that his score totals up for the time right after he leaves the pole, but he still walks. From what I read from the asm, when he hits the brick by the castle door, his sprite priority is set beneath the background's, and a scroll lock is placed I think. I don't want the scroll though, because I want him to look like he's walking to the next level.
