Repost from like ... months ago. But meh. Lots of screens, as usual. There are a few new ones mixed in, so yeah .. that's a bonus

Final progress thread you will see until the release, which is going to be hopefully VERY soon.

I began the very first level of this hack on August 15, 2005 - a.k.a. one year and 6 months ago. I plan to finish this hack in January or February at the absolute latest. I'd especially like to thank the creator of the first ever YI hack - Golden Yoshi - for beta testing this hack throughout for me. Even though he doesn't come here now, he is still an exceptional help. Heres to hoping mine can be the SECOND ever YI hack thats actually decent

There will be many people to thank when the time comes, but this is not the time - yet. This is the time to show you all a final compilation of screenshots - ranging from the beginning of world 2 to the beginning of world 6. I hope you will take the time to look at each one and reply with an honest thought of the hack.

Now, without further ado...let's begin. Level names appear above pictures.

2-1: The Cave of Twilight Terror

2-2: The Nimbus Sprint

2-5: Landfall Ho!

2-6: The Passage to Mt. Stone

2-8: Summit Floral Fortress

3-3: Blizzard Valley

3-7: The Quarry - Spooky Sprint

3-8: The Rocky Castle of Chance

4-4: Crumbling Aquatic Palace

4-5: Shell Shocked and Sunk!

4-6: The Cave of Jungle Fever

4-8: The Ancient Koopalopolis (as I said before, sewer = pain)

5-2: Novaglint Crematory

5-4: The Eternal Palace

5-6: Poochey and the Egg

5-7: Morpher's Malady

5-8: The Factorius Mecanus

6-1: The City of Interloping

6-2: A Fuzzy Goal to Rock and Roll

6-3: Blargg's Boiler

6-4: The Castle of Fallen Spirits

And a sample of the OW, which still has dumb palette issues (will be fixed soon, I swear:

.

.

That is all for now (again). I know some of you are looking forward to this, and I hope others will too. Comments?

This is the first time I've seen this hack and it looks like it's going great (it doesn't look like there is much left to do either). Great job and I'll be looking forward to its release.

Thank you for the positive notes you two. I figured this thread would have been seen by many before (especially you Imajin, you were the mod of the ROM hacking forum ) I know there were some new members with the move, and some that haven't seen this yet, so I felt it would be good to post one last time before the release - which I am still expecting to be within a couple months.

Oh, S.N.N., I was wondering.... You DO know the Red Yoshi's palette is messed up, right? You think you could fix it somehow? It annoys me how all the dark red on other Yoshis becomes an odd purple-like color on Red Yoshi.

Huh?

Those are two separate palettes. Play X-2 and X-7 in any world on the original, and you'll see what I mean. X-2 is the purplish palette, while X-7 is the red palette.

That is what you meant, right?

I mean with X-2 in the worlds. THAT Yoshi's palette is messed up. Just press Y when using him. Or, just look at his shoes. SO obvious there.

Looking good as always S.N.N. 6-2 is a new screenshot for me. I've seen 6-1 and 6-3 through the General Screenshot thread on board1 and 6-4 through a PM.

Also, I'm still interested in beta-testing the hack. Sorry for not saying that in the last PM you sent me.

You can actually see what he's referring to in this image:
Posted by S.N.N.

Take note of how the shoes are rather hideously mis-shaded on it.

Aside from that, which I'd assume was in the original game as well, this still looks excellent.

Yoshi's shoe is a different color because he is currently dizzy. You can tell he is dizzy because of the shape of those log platforms. A lot colors change when Yoshi is under the influence of drugs Fuzzies.

That's not the reason why at all. Go into an x-2 level in the regular game, the colors will still be just as ugly. Meanwhile, 1-7 (Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy) never has shoes that have the brightness reversed like that.

Fuzzies cause things to all be tinted a similar but varying color. They will not be like that unless they were that way to begin with.

The shading mishp was in the original game as well, though in my opinion, the shoes look fine.

And actually, Skreeny, you are right. Fuzzies cause all things EXCEPT sprites to be tinted - therefore, that wouldn't have an effect on Yoshi's shoes.

@fabio: Thanks for responding on the beta test concern. You will certainly be one I send it to

Replied to this on the old board, still think it's mad freakin' sweet.

You have some new screens, though. 6-3, Blaarg's Boiler, looks difficult *shudder* but hell, I'd try it ...

Nice SNN, keep it up dude.

Wow, this looks really really well done. Did you think up all the stage names on your own? They're all quite creative.

Yeah. Everything in the hack is pretty much made by me, aside from the orginial graphics obviously. There are a few new sprites, new intro, all new text on the boss battles (still in process a bit ) and a hidden new tileset that will be implemented in the last level.

Every single screenshot is drool-worthy S.N.N. The levels look pretty tough, but it will at least be a nice change of pace from playing hard SMW hacks.

I eagerly await any playable code.
