I'm not sure really... I used a Winamp plugin (PaceMaker) to drop its tempo and pitch and it sounded a lot more sky-esque. As it is, I think it's slightly too fast-paced to be a sky tune, but it would be well-suited in a forest. Maybe you should make another sky tune... I dunno, see what other people think

About your hack, woo I love SMB2 graphics! I'm assuming Wart is the main villain. It should be interesting to see when you have something to show.

Nice work your doing there, Mattrizzle87, did you call him? (DJBouche)

And I don't know how complete The Kin's Archive is, as it's not online anymore, I uploaded my collected DJBouche SPCs

And Mattrizzle87, use the tune for the Forrest of Illusion stile of levels, and compose a new Star/Sky tune. I think it fits the other mysterious stuff better.

I last e-mailed him two days ago, but no response yet. As for actually calling him, he lives in Australia and I live in the United States, so that'd be a long-distance call on my dad's phone bill.

And I don't know how complete The Kin's Archive is, as it's not online anymore, I uploaded my collected DJBouche SPCs

Your archive has over twice as many SPCs as The Trasher's did. SMRPG and Yoshi's Island SPCs! I noticed the YI SPCs were in a folder named 'kafuka.' Were those intended for Emuz's hack?

And Mattrizzle87, use the tune for the Forrest of Illusion stile of levels, and compose a new Star/Sky tune. I think it fits the other mysterious stuff better.

The more I listen to it, the more it seems to fit in a forest world, but I still want to hear a few more peoples' opinions about it before I move forward.

I just had a thought, sorry for making a delay but how about adding YI atheltic to the mix as well as flower garden because,
I'm sure people would interested to use those themes with YI themed levels or they could used in a different music hack which
someone else is creating or in a future release.

Edit: Forget it, there wouldn't be enough room in the level/stage music bank anyway!

Yes, he had Bouche collaborate on it for a while.
I am actually surprised there are still people around who remember Kafuka. Were you around back in the days Emuz still was active? (I don't remember seeing you, but I didn't take notice of many things back then)

I've been lurking around as a guest on Acmlm's Board since around 2001(a little while before the first Acmlmboard's MySQL database was lost), but I didn't register until 2004.

This could be why the patch isn't working for some people. Do ROMs not work in certain emulators when they have bad checksums? I don't know because I use ZSNES. When creating this patch I didn't alter the checksum, resulting in a bad one. When you save a level in LM, it corrects the checksum, meaning the ROM would work.

sirhax0r: I already tried that once, and it just plays the first note. I think the notes are stored as individual sound effects.

I believe that HAL created its own music for its games, so many of them, including KSS and Earthbound, don't use the N-SPC engine. Kirby's Dream Course is an exception to the rule, because it was originally created by Nintendo as Special Tee Shot. This means that the Bandai Satellaview version of Special Tee Shot most likely uses the N-SPC format. Zelda: LttP does use the N-SPC format. I found what most of the commands were through messing with that editor.

EDIT: Here is proof that I'm making progress on my next version of the patch; it's Yoshi's Cookie: VS. Music C played with SMAS instruments.

How to i put that in my hack or open it?

That would be SPC. It's a sound file for SNES. Get Winamp. Get the SPC plugin. Profit.

I registered some months (plural) before the crash, it was in December, if I remember correctly.

I just send him an SMS, if he can recieve 'em.

KawaiiImoto-e: I talk to both Emuz and DJBouche almost every day lately, so if it's about contacting either, I could as well arrange them getting in touch with those interested...

It's preview time again; this time it's Toad's victory theme from SMK (now hosted on Pac's server). I may have to compile all of these SPCs into a ZIP file for easy access.

In other news, DJ Bouche has given me permission to use his SPCs, so expect to see some of them in the patch.

Oh, so they're in N-SPC format? That's good to know.

I think seeing (err hearing) Dire Dire Docks in an SMW hack would be amazing, but a) it's probably too big, and b) the SPC Bouche made is unfinished. Apart from that, there aren't many of his SPCs that I think would suit SMW, but I'd at least recommend:

  • SMK: Mario Circuit
  • SMK: Rainbow Road
  • Goldeneye: Facility

Yes, that would be amazing for an underwater level

@Matrizzle: The track list so far looks great! I can't wait for the release!
