I know some of SMB2's music format, But I am going to use Famitracker to do the music if possible, It may sound newbie-ish again, I know where most sprites, ASM, ect. But I could not find where SMB2 JSRs it's music code (As you may understand, Disch at the NESDEV forums gave me the awnser - Initialization with Bankswitching.)
But I could not trace the music JSRs because it could not trace the Bankswitching part (I tried NNNester, Debuggers from Nintendulator and FECUXDSP/ABS) (Off topic a little bit, But a Fact
DDP's music format is not the same as SMB2's music format, DDP's music format should be also used in FDS versions of Zelda (and possibly FDS Metroid) I do not know Doki Doki Panic's Format, But I know most of SMB2's stuff except for the untraceable Init/Play/Load JSR(S) that are bankswitched. ____________________ Mah boi, romhacking is what all true warriors strive for! Posted by Omega45889 WOOOOOO0000000ooooooot I can't wait to try out the editor
Perhaps a zelda rpg? I am thinking of making a smrpg hack based off the Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons manga. It'd be a good choice anyways. Why?The characters. They fit the actions the current smrpg characters do.. Link=Mario(Obviously) Malo=Maple Geno=The bird guy that rides link.. Bowser=Ricky Peach=Din |

Posted by MathOnNapkins I was pretty sure it was included with the binary. Maybe I never bundled them. :| I thought I had though. Sorry for the edit, If they aren't bundled my backups might be corrupt. I started a fork called "Cataclysm", apparently when I forked the project, the Zeed "Build Two, Patch 2" and prior source codes got fouled somehow, due to an error on my part. I will try to get working source code back up as soon as possible, if it is missing that is. Sorry for another edit, didn't see Rockman's reply at first: Posted by Rockman Thanks, that means a lot to me.
When I forked Zeed into Cataclysm, I accidentally deleted the unmodified Zeed source codes somehow by overwriting the archives on accident. (Media Plague Dot Com v2.xx) All Cataclysm was, was a mod of the artifically intelligent Terra-forming algorithm and CIT scripting interface portions, specifically for Zelda games. Zeed didn't work very well with many Zelda quilted screen shots, and thus I made a fork called Cataclysm to experiment with. Some time in late 2007, I ended up downloading the Cataclysm site on top of the Zeed back-ups by mistake. Meaning I might only have back-ups of the Cataclysm source, not the Zeed source possibly. I will have to buy laptop HDD enclosure next month in order to data-recover the Zeed/Cataclysm source codes, as the only computer I own powerful enough to debug Zeed/Cataclysm, is out for the count. So sorry, until I am able to get a laptop HDD enclosure and permission to develop using either my mom's or brother's desktop computer, it's a no go for data recovery. Worst case scenario, I will either have to reverse engineer each release of Zeed and undo the changes in the Cataclysm version of each release, or else make a new version called Zeed "Build Three" until I can find another way to do so. -edit- (Fixing typos galore.) ____________________ NIHYFDTTMWTMR |

Posted by NightKev No, very inconvenient. Don't spam up my thread with sarcasm, thank you. Posted by KawaPosted by troopa pride troopa pride: Yes, as-is you feed it a screen shot that you script the regions of wall surface, and floor surface, along with cube altitude for floors, and then it uses the artificially intelligent Terra-forming algorithm to best-guess what the 3D level looks like, it does pretty well with the Castle Baron outdoors level from Final Fantasy IV Easy/Hard Type, however Zelda levels it does not perform so well. Main issue with Zelda games is things like trees and dungeon walls or anything that has floor thickness zero. Final Fantasy IV works fairly well for most levels. Mystic Quest works fairly well too. You don't provide the algorithm a game dump, just quilted screen shots of levels. In Zeed "Build Two, Patch 2", it is fairly more easy to select entire contiguous regions of similar tiles etcetera, and even assign properties to all the same imagery tiles in the quilted screen shot you feed the CIT program. The CIT editor portion is very much like ms-paint on steroids. Kawa: Please stop reverse-trolling/spamming my thread. -edit- BTW, I just remembered that one of my plans for a future build was the ability to Terra-form a prerecorded zSNES movie into both a 3D model sequence as both an AVI file and some source database of some as-yet undecided format. This means I would have to add sprite recognition, in order to better map out how multiple maps interconnect, etcetera. -edit- Here is illustrations of the default scripting and Castle Baron scripting for the Castle Baron quilted screen-shot as imported into the Zeed "TIT" Tile Integration Tool, for piping into the autonomous Zeed "CIT" Construct Integration Tool artificially intelligent Terra-forming algorithm: Default settings: (click to enlarge) Castle Baron settings: (click to enlarge) ____________________ NIHYFDTTMWTMR |

There's like seven FFI hacks I never finished.
A Fire Emblem Gaiden remix. The first Fire Emblem as a remake, one with new graphics, and then one with Oracle or Seasons/Ages graphics and it being primarily a level hack which never was finished. A whole bunch of new graphics for one of the GBA Fire Emblems that never were put into the game. Text and graphics for Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo (FE3). A remake of Famicom Wars, to make it look more similiar to the GBA games, as well as some from Dual Strike. The original Itadaki Street hacked to resemble the newer cross-over versions fo the game, specifically for Nintendo only. A cool Kid Icarus hack I wanted to finish but never got around to it. Spiritual Warfare on the NES made to resemble Zelda a little more. An old old old Super Mario World thing I messed with a couple of times. Same for Link to the Past. Here's some random photobuckets with pics. If anyone wants these, you're welcome to have 'em--I haven't them time to finish anything. In fact, over all the years I've messed around with hacking, I've only finished my first real hack, Ancients Wish for FFI and a small Pac-Man hack for the NES ._. http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/Diadora/Anceints%20Wish/ http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/Diadora/Ancients%20Cry/ http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/Diadora/Ancients%20Wrath/ http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/Diadora/Hacking/ http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/Diadora/FESS/Exile%20of%20the%20Hunt/ http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/Diadora/FESS/FEGaiden%20Remix/ http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/Diadora/FESS/Maps/ http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/Diadora/FESS/Mugs/ Some of the stuff is really really old and some only months old. EDIT: seems the Famicom Wars pics aren't in those. If anyone want sto see those, ask and I'll look through the bucket and try to find them--or you might :/ |

I have a music hack of A Link To The Past. No new music, but all remixes.
Then there is "Journey of a Day", my Zelda II hack. It's sad, because I tried so hard to finish it before I leave, and that is tomorrow. ![]() |

Let me see:
NES: Unfinished Guardian Legend hack that is playable but needs all block designs to be re-added except for the one with powerups(which are all obtainable). Legend of Zelda ASM hack that adds lock blocks and a more complex secrets system(more like Zelda Classic). Temp iced due to problems trying to reduce save files from 3 to 1 and using extra ram for saving and stuff. Megaman 4 DX that adds a new twist to the game. Each robot master holds a key to it's domain that when you beat the boss and re-enter the stage and find a certain enemy, a wall will blow up and you can assess a hidden area with the boss' weapon as a collectable. Also the items are now found in each stage as well as new powerups like a double jump, spike barrier, and a grapple upgrade for the wire. Legacy of the Wizard DX that extends the game by adding 4 extra crowns that you find after you find the original 4. There are crown blocks that open only if you have the right crown. Ability Gems that will permently alter the stats of the family. One for each stat. Poochi no longer has rapid fire, and the fire rod is called the Rapid Rod and anybody can equip it. Shops are now snobbish, and may refuse to sell you things unless you have certain crowns. The Power Knuckle has been replaced by the Cross, which does the same thing as the pickup only it costs 10 MP and can only be used by Roas. SNES: Equinox hack: Basically it's a level of Equinox for the SNES. It can only run on Zsnes 1.36 thus without it, playing the hack is not possible. There are many more, but those are some fo the incomplete hacks I have. I've only released one hack, Blaster Master Pimp Your Ride, and it is basically complete even though not all the levels are changed. |

I like your graphics, foofatron. And your mapping. I'm writing up a Pokemon hack myself, and I'm real new to this game hacking deal. I feel like it's gonna take me forever to import custom graphix and deal with all the other custom tweeking with assembly, etc. It seems you got that down, but need a new story. If you don't mind working in a team, maybe you and I can work on a hack together. That way it would at least be done in half the time . I, myself, have school to attend to, two jobs, and a social life (yet all of the free time I can muster up to spare I use for gaming ). Most of the great hacks out there are done in two-men teams, anyways. Like FuSoYa and Zero-G's Super Demo World (SMW hack) and Parallel Worlds (Zelda: A Link to the Past hack) as well. Both are some of the greatest hacks I've ever played. What say you?____________________ MathOnNapkins' Zelda 3 (ALttP) Hacking Forum on Arc-Nova: http://arc-nova.org/forum/index.php?board=7.0 |

Way to take us back to the past(to play the shitty games that suck ass?)
I actually can't believe I've been in(and somewhat out) of the community for at least 8 years. It's feels so long ago that I was downloading AIM for the first time to talk to Zeldafreak about Link Studios, and then whoosh, I got picked up by DES. I still have my DES avatar somewhere. I'm still hacking. Right now I am trying to make more headway in an Equinox hack. I still have Legacy of the Wizard to finish, and Megaman 4 as well. I also started to hack Zelda 1 and add lock blocks to it. For the most part it was a success, and I may actually(redo) the code and release it as an improvement hack. |

Stop stealing my ideas
That's right... I see you on IRC in #rom-hacking But seriously we've discussed this before and I've considered it in the past when writing my Zelda editor (that has like 500 different object types). It could work, I guess, but I've never sat down and tried. ____________________ Zelda Hacking Forum hobbies: delectatio morosa |
