Ours has lasted over 6 years, but the age of the community isn't that important. I tend to prefer relatively new communities, actually. Some communities can be old but very inactive because most of their members have left or they never got a steady stream of new members. |

Posted by blackhole89Most of which were contested by ||board and eventually deleted entirely (the ones I can immediately think of, at least) But past that, most of what I did was using my ol account ("lol internet") on ||board to send members that re-registered a PM there... naturally, of course, most of them seem to have stopped, so I don't think we'll be getting more out of there  ____________________ I dealt with it. |

Posted by Dragon MasterI don't think this can be stressed enough. GameFAQs' boards have mountains of posts daily, but I'd much rather be here than there. Reason? Not just post quality, which in some cases is as poor as "bump this topic just to keep it from being deleted," but because of the people here. This board has more people that I enjoy talking to, both on IRC and on the board itself, than anywhere else. Granted, there are people elsewhere that I know and will talk to; for example, YD and I are still friends despite her posting mostly at what is now ||board. I don't get the injokes (or at least I'm assuming they're injokes) that are frequently posted there, just like some people may not get this board's injokes, and I don't really know enough people there to make my staying and posting worthwhile, thus I don't frequent that board. However, just because I don't post somewhere doesn't mean I hate the place and its members. Postcounts are one of the little things that can measure a board's activity, but quality (of members, not just posts) beats out quantity by far. |

Well, I discovered ||board first. No one told me about this one, so I found it a few weeks later after being skeptical of the whole "Acmlm's Board II" idea. I've stayed neutral to the conflict. At first, there was a very brief week or two where ||board arguably the one more worth posting on. That didn't last at all. Now pretty much nobody logs in, not even the mods or admins. 
What's even more unusual is this board was starting to degrade also, then that rather odd thread of mine earlier brought it to many members' attention and a lot more people are logging on now. ____________________  |
