So the question to talk about at this point that came up after reading through a few threads, and which reminded me of an old discussion, is thus:

Why is bestiality wrong? Similarly, in different circumstances, would it not be wrong?

Now, I know some people might not believe that bestiality is wrong, but let's save that for another thread if need be. The point of this one is different. So let's start with the notion that humans having sex with animals is wrong. From there, we must ask why that is. I would contend that this is due to the nature of sentience. Humans are in fact the only sentient animals we know of, and this much is a fact. I think that the reason that human/animal sex is wrong is not that there is a species difference, but because of the nature of the affair.

As such, and why this is a hypothetical discussion, what if that were not the case? What if other species possessed sentience and human levels of intelligence? This might come into play in a fantasy world, as it did when I first thought of this point (humorously enough, on the GameFAQs Zelda 64 board in a thread someone made proclaiming Ruto was "so hot"), or if humans should some day make contact with an alien species. In that case, I ask, would interspecies sex really be wrong? I think the problem is bestiality per se, and in that case it would not be with beasts at all.

I personally would not likely choose to partake, not really being into the fur-scene, but as a theoretical point I find it interesting to consider. Thoughts?

And if Colin killed himself, he'd never post more ACS results!

*sees people glaring*

Yes, I know that's not the primary concern here, I just thought it would be funny to say

I find that the more you obsess about this, the more you will notice and the more pissed off you get. I have found that usually it's better to ignore it and attempt to set a good example. They're playing with their ball over there.

Well I'm just happy to finally have an article. I think it's a lot easier for people to contribute to articles than start new ones, in some way. So it's really that first step for a lot that really matters.

Not necessarily. It could be a form of overcompensation. If you're really worried about looking like a dumbass because of your spelling and grammar, than you might prove to be extra careful, to the point where you overcome your handicap and end up, well, having good spelling/grammar.

See, I think it would've been a lot funnier if you hadn't said that you're a boy, and see the kind of response you get before revealing that.

Well that's essentially what I'm saying in the discussion of a lack of sentience. They really can't consent to it, and that's part of a larger scale of issues.

I don't know about the games can't possibly be any good. They could be surprisingly fun, who knows.

Still, I really don't think any gamer could in good conscience keep something like this in his/her collection.

Now now, Danielle, you must be kind. Give them the results (easily) for yesterday, the day before, the day before that, and the day before that.

Does that cover the time Colin's been gone?

Well, 17 year old humans are just about as able as 18 year olds, on average, but we say they can't consent, even if they don't fight back, so, well, that could be said for animals as well.

But jeez, it seems no one caught the actual point of the thread. I thought this would be an interesting discussion. Guess not.

Well, apparently, he made a post talking about his computer problems, and it took him a full 30 minutes to make that post. Yes, he has been online, but only long enough to tell us that he couldn't really get online.

No need to tally the results now, really, he'll be back eventually. If we've gone this long, I think we can go a few days more.

That reminds me of a joke:

An American touring Spain stopped at a local restaurant following a day of sightseeing. While sipping his sangria, he noticed a sizzling, scrumptious looking platter being served at the next table. Not only did it look good, the smell was wonderful. He asked the waiter, "What is that you just served?"

The waiter replied, " Ah senor, you have excellent taste! Those are bulls testicles from the bull fight this morning. A delicacy!"

The American, though momentarily daunted, said, "What the hell, I'm on vacation! Bring me an order!"

The waiter replied, "I am so sorry senor. There is only one serving per day because there is only one bull fight each morning. If you come early tomorrow and place your order, we will be sure to save you this delicacy!"

The next morning, the American returned, placed his order, and then that evening he was served the one and only special delicacy of the day. After a few bites, and inspecting the contents of his platter, he called to the waiter and said, "These are delicious, but they are much, much smaller than the ones I saw you serve yesterday!"

The waiter shrugged his shoulders and replied, "Si senor. Sometimes the bull wins."

I'm honestly not sure whether or not I do. My siblings claim I do, but roommates, friends at camp, girls, and the like have never said anything...which makes me think my siblings are just trying to mess with me.

I have determined that I'm the only real person here. The rest of you are just sophisticated AI, created in my absence from the board to make me believe otherwise about the people on the boards before, who were similarly fake. That's the real reason I never met Amanda; even her voice and the drama there was merely scripted and read by a computer.

You are all fake!

It seems that I'm going to be forced to try lololol, because a computing class that I'm in, for which we will be programming some web pages, will be using that as the standard, so I'll need to make sure it works fine in that.

I'll probably still stick with IE in the long run, though.

The worst of that you will often see in chat rooms and on chat clients such as AIM. It's really appalling sometimes. A girl I met at college who was in person an intelligent, articulate individual, seemed to be borderline retarded when I spoke with her on AIM. I literally cringed.

Well, I had meant it to be more on the furry sexual trend, in a way, and I actually said I'd rather not discuss bestiality in here, but, well, you saw what happened.

I wonder if this might be the cause of losing bookmarks, that people are somehow activating this and getting rid of those other ones.

I don't really keep too many bookmarks anyway. Most of the sites I visit a lot I just type in their URL. The bookmarks I use are generally sites whose url is a bit long to remember, or confusing...like Japanese sites put through the babelfish translator.

Eww, I despise the new format. Then again, I really hated the way it's now been for a little while when it first came out, preferring the older still variety of boards. This time, though, I don't think I'll "get used to it" but rather use the link you provided.
