I think the longest I've gone with NO sleep was about 30 hours. I have, however, had several days in a row where I've had very little sleep (as in, less than 4 hours). It's pretty miserable.

So did you play that because someone at the party suggested it, or from my suggestion?

Anyway, the biggest thing to not get a hangover, I've found, is just to drink plenty of water over the course of the night and before you go to sleep. I've gotten very few hangovers with that strategy.

What, may I ask, does "loted" mean?

And it's always better to spend time with family or friends than post. Of course, now that I'm on the west coast, I can be here for the 'end of the day festivities' that often occur between 10 and 12 EST, and then go out to a party afterwards.

Well, I think a lot of it comes down to the nature of the divine plan. Yes, Jesus needed to die in order for the resurrection to take place. I think what it comes down to here is the issue of omniscience and free will.

Judas did not need to betray Jesus. He made the choice to do so. That is why he's a reviled traitor. God's plan did not rely on that happening to succeed. Rather, the plan was built with the knowledge that this would happen. There's an argument about whether it's really free will if it's known in advance what the choice will be, and hard to get your mind around that, but still. I don't really know how to explain it better than that.

I suppose it's a lot easier for him to do this with the "ACS" function than in the old days, when he had to check the "Active Users" with exactly the right time.

Sometimes that kind of stuff does indeed happen. I was bored a week or so ago and googled my own AIM name. I got a few results of some chatlogs people had posted that I had been in, and one of them was for the boards where I was before I initially came here 4 years go, in a thread about a member there who I had kept in some contact with. Turns out she killed herself last October. I hadn't been in contact with her all that often, but that was probably the longest since I had heard from her, and that explained why. I really can't say I knew her all that well, but still, it hits kinda hard.

What do you mean I didn't mark my post right? If your browser can't see the spoiler tags correctly, that's not my fault. It works just fine in IE.

Well, most game creation things, for anything remotely large like a quest for a Zelda game, will naturally take quite some time. That said, I think it might be worth it to attempt to make some "theme" kinds of things at some point, not anything particularly big.

Well, a couple people on the boards were in some closer contact with her and some of her family, which is how they found out, and one of them felt it necessary to post it on the boards. How I found it was that in the spirit of some happy memories, a few people posted some chat logs of memorable AIM chats she had been part of...and I was in some of them, hence my AIM name being googled finding that.

Oh yes, that rather odd conversation thread. I didn't actually catch "lote" the first time through, somehow.

A bit late in commenting, but not exactly your best work. Nice to have something of an update, anyway. Perhaps some degree of continuity is in order at this stage?

I've got to say, that fan trailer is really nice. Obviously not the greatest production value, but for what it is, it's great.

So has anyone seen any "trailer remixes" where someone takes clips from a movie and puts them together, along with narration and music, to make the movie look like it's a completely different genre? They can be pretty funny. Two that I've liked a lot:

Shining

Sleepless in Seattle

Funny stuff.

It wasn't an issue of skimming, really. It was one of those things where the mind kind of automatically corrects an error while you're reading so you read smoothly. And I wasn't looking for errors. I had thought when I read it the first time that it just said "love" and he was getting his point across by saying "I love you so much, now die" since that alone makes enough sense in the context.

Well, she lived with her family. She was about my age, she was bipolar, and she'd recently found out she was schizophrenic. She had a hard time dealing with people in general...and I think that's what caused her to do what she did...she felt like she was a burden on everyone in her life, and many of her close friends were on the internet. So if that's where your closest friends are...I really wish I used an IM client that told me when I'd last talked with her...

Because you're saying "I love you" the love part, and then "now die" which is generally something said by someone who hates someone else...and besides, I never said anything about a mix, just that one could become the other...and in that sense, my original interpretation makes more sense than what was actually there.

Hey, I said some degree of continuity, not make it a consistent storyline. I'm talking more like how "Adventurers!" was for most of its earlier years.

Well, not this most recent trailer. It's pretty obvious that it's not a trailer for a real big-budget movie to anyone who has eyes. The topic of conversation has now shifted from the hoax movie to the fan trailer. That's why we're discussing it.

And to me as well, really. But it does make some degree of sense when you consider how tied she was to people on the internet. I don't know whether it's a good thing or a bad thing that I wasn't aware until now that she had these issues. I knew she was weird, and had some personal issues, but I thought it about ended at that.

It could be bad that I didn't know because maybe I could have tried to do more to help, somehow, I don't even know what, but something.

But it could also be a good thing because if she'd wanted that help from me, she could have asked me for it, and perhaps the best thing I could do for her was what I did...provide an open ear and be about as good a friend as I could be over the internet. I really just hope that I helped some of her time to be a bit happier.

NOTICE OF LAWSUIT AND REQUEST FOR
WAIVER OF SERVICE OF SUMMONS

TO: Kyouji of Acmlm's Board

A lawsuit has been commenced against you (or the entity on whose behalf you are addressed.)

A copy of the complaint is attached to this notice. It has been filed in the United States District Court for the Stanford District and has been assigned docket number 385938482

This is not a formal summons or notification from the court, but rather my request that you sign and return the enclosed waiver of service in order to save the cost of serving you with a judicial summons and an additional copy of the complaint. The cost of service will be avoided if I receive a signed copy of the waiver within 5 days after the date designated below as the date on which this Notice and Request is sent. I enclose a stamped and addressed envelope (or other means of cost-free return) for your use. An extra copy of the waiver is also attached for your records.

If you comply with this request and return the signed waiver, it will be filed with the court and no summons will be served on you. The action will then proceed as if you had been served on the date the waiver is filed, except that you will not be obligated to answer the complaint before 60 days from the date designated below as the date on which this notice is sent (or before 90 days from that date if your address is not in any judicial district of the United States.)

If you do not return the signed waiver within the time indicated, I will take appropriate steps to effect formal service in a manner authorized by the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and will then, to the extent authorized by those Rules, ask the court to require you (or the party on whose behalf you are addressed) to pay the full costs of such service. In that connection, please read the statement concerning the duty of parties to waive the service of the summons, which is set forth at the foot of the waiver form.

I affirm that this request is being sent to you on behalf of the plaintiff, this 8th day of April, 2006.
