Oh no, I'm not saying it was politically incorrect. I just meant that it's probably more politically correct now than before. It's more than just the extremes, Colin. I think before it was just...there...not really to one side or the other...but with the way things are going, it's probably more to the one side now.

Wow, did I start a wonderful urban legend about Danielle and her love of guns?

And Ailure, why did you change your name to either a box or some character that I don't have on my computer (which shows up as a box)?

Well, it WAS your fault that he was stalking you, in a sense. You gave him the perfect opportunity to do just that, and you were stalking him just as much. Learn from your mistakes next time...and have fun in the staff forum

Connections are the best ways to get jobs. Talk to your parents, your friends' parents, other adults you know who might have something in the company they work for or know someone who does and would recommend you for it. It's all about who you know.

Why don't you go outside sans pants, walk down the street and say hi to some people.

And then tell us how that goes.

Ooh, you mean he's done some real programming with big-name projects? That is really awesome, actually.

And I agree, Twinkle Star is in the so-happy-it's-scary category.

Well, you could put a word in the spoiler that wouldn't be spoileriffic, like "here" as the word for the link. Example:

Spoiler:
Aeris is killed by Sephiroth. See the footage here and tell me what you think.

I seem to recall another common robot master to show up was "Dark Man"...but I don't know where he's from, if anywhere. Anyone able to enlighten me on that?

Well, regarding the girl...assuming you're something of a gamer, how important is it to you that she is amenable to spending time with you doing that? Or would you give it up for a girl? Or are you not a gamer anyway?

I'm not sure what it is you're going to try to do, but anything that involves "decoding" stuff like that is most likely a bad idea.

Another option you have, though, if you think otherwise, is an online translation tool. They certainly aren't perfect, but you might be able to get the gist of what's there.

Depends where you are. Some of the gamestops around here expect to have it in by Wednesday, which is when I plan to buy it and start playing it.

So, who here is familiar with this excellent series of games?

Odd in a way that I say that, really, since while I've enjoyed all of them that I've played, I've only found one of them, the first one I played and the one that really got me into the series and "adventure" games in general, to be truly spectacular, and the rest to be good but, perhaps partially due to their age for 1-4, not as great.

That one really great one is King's Quest VI, which came many years ago with the CD Rom drive we got for our computer...yeah, it was so long ago that this was a huge deal. The voice acting, for one, is really great, especially the narrator.

But yeah, I bring this up because I recently decided to start playing KQ6 again, though it was a pain to do on Windows XP (ask me if you need help). Anyone else familiar with the series? There's an unofficial King's Quest IX lined up to come out, actually.

And if you don't want to do food service, which it sounds like you don't, talk to people. There are more open positions than you might think, and even if there aren't, a lot of places, when they find a friend's son who's supposed to be capable is willing to do the work, they'll realize they could use the help. That's how some of my friends lined up jobs, and that's how I got one of my summer jobs.

asdf, the way you say "especially if I lost to a SFer" really sounds pretty derogatory, actually. If the stories were more active I would try to organize a spree among them just to spite that negative attitude of yours

Dammit, why can't people just follow the transit regulations? It's really not that tough, and they're there for a reason. Everyone always thinks they know better, though. That's why the lines are put back farther than they need to be...they know people are going to step over them a bit. Some people...farther, though.

It's kind of like weather karma, in a way. Florida has great weather for the most part, as does the rest of that area, but they get hurricanes sometimes to make up for it. And for the west coast, earthquakes.

Here in the midwest, we have crappy weather, but no big problems.

Granted, some parts of the midwest have tornadoes, but their overall weather is a bit nicer than where I'm from.
