Nova looked at the girl for a bit. She definitely looked a lot like Hikari
Nova: She's not feeling well? It must be that thing that bit her this afternoon. I have to see if she's alright, sorry to barge in. With that, the rogue ran past the girl, opened the door, and ran upstairs into the room where the others were crowding around Hikari. Sabor walked over to Marin and purred. |

That is extremely disappointing. I love the first game, and while I haven't played the sequel yet, I plan on getting it in the near future. It's just such a really goofy concept, and was done so well.
But then, perhaps best for it to go out while it's still fresh rather than spawn a million unnecessary sequels and get stale. |

Nova looked around at the faces in the room. Some were more friendly than others.
Nova: I was there when she got bitten...I should have known then it would've been a problem. If I can help, I'll do that. I feel it's my responsibility to do so. Just tell me what she needs. Don't worry about the money, either. I'm trying to get out of that line of work anyway. (edited by Skydude on 03-17-06 09:41 PM) |

I'm not sure whether you're being serious or sarcastic there, actually.
And yes, posting a lot certainly increases the size of one's e-penis. |

Well, that's just how it is in England. Actually, it's a bit better than it was, in that now (as of this past summer) some pubs can be open whenever they want. The thing is, to do that the pub needs to get a special license, which I guess most don't want to do. After all, they're used to closing at 11, and they'd rather close at that time with the normal customers than have to stay open later, even for more money.

Doing a google image search for the gamecube advance brings me to here where you can find it rather far down on the page. As you can see, it's from May 2005, before the DS Lite came out...there was some speculation that this might be the "new handheld" speculated about. (edited by Skydude on 03-17-06 09:50 PM) |

It's not about taking away the hope. It's about redirecting it. Hope you can be friends with her, and find someone with whom you can share something more than friendship as well. If you really do value this girl as a friend above all else, then the friendship can work. But if you begin to think of her primarily as a romantic interest, and a friend second, that's when there are problems.

Well, actually, not really, usually. Most of the drinking done in England is done with friends in pubs, and not nearly as much at home. The thing people will often do is drink a lot in the period before the bars close. That's one of the reasons for the possibility of extending hours longer: thousands of REALLY drunk people were pouring onto the streets at 11 PM.

I don't see why we couldn't have another sticky. Though we already have four, Colin, so that would be a fifth.
Yay for topic of the day! |

Nova nodded.
Nova: We should leave at the crack of dawn tomorrow. We'll want to get an early start on it, but no sense leaving tonight. That would be more likely to do harm than good. A growling was heard in the room. Nova: Erm...do you have anything to eat here? |

I like the "read me or die" gif. Very classy, and you would hope attention-getting. Kids these days seem to need more.
As for how many millimeters, I think it's a function of decreasing returns, meaning that the more you post, the more you need to post to get the same size increase as before. |

I left in the fall of 2002 because I didn't like how things were run. I said I wasn't going to be coming back unless certain major changes were made. Tom thought I would be back much sooner, and the bet was that I would be back before then(being back defined for the purposes of the bet as making a post, not showing activity, which meant that had I wanted to I could've lurked). Because of the difficulty of a "forever" kind of bet (which for me to win it would've been) it was arranged so that if I didn't return within a month, he would owe me $100, but if I in fact returned without the specified conditions being fulfilled, at any point, I would pay him $200, and if it was after a month also return the $100 he would have paid me.
As it was, I didn't come back until just about a month ago, and said conditions had indeed been fulfilled. He never paid me the $100 he owed me, either. |

Oh, well, if that's all it takes, then I'll send him a letter stating that I will make Katamari Damacy 3 (or 4, I guess, if you're counting the PSP) one, by myself...and I'll make it really bad and give him credit for the concept and everything.
Ah, if only it were that easy. |

It's specific enough. If you don't understand what I meant, the bet was that I was to be back before certain conditions were met, conditions agreed upon between myself and certain other people. I think the fact that I've left it as vague as I have should make it clear that in the interests of keeping the drama to a minimum I'd rather not discuss it on the boards. And I'm not going to do so no matter how much you ask, so don't bother.

Well, I certainly can't give you any justification for fundamentalists or really any non-Catholic christian religion, since I haven't really studied what they believe.
As for the Catholic Church's official position, it's actually remarkably simple. Extramarital sex is a sin, whether it's with someone of the opposite sex or the same sex. Marriage, in the religious sense, is the union of a man and a woman in the eyes of God. That's not to say that The Church necessarily opposes legal homosexual marriage; that's something else entirely. The only difference between homosexual sex and heterosexual sex, as far as Catholic teaching goes, is that the latter can be "good" provided it is within marriage...but outside of marriage, they're the same level of sin. Edit: Another important thing that comes about because of that is that non-sexual homosexual activity, while perhaps distasteful, is not inherently wrong. (edited by Skydude on 03-17-06 10:54 PM) |

There are actually a surprising number of us from the "old" boards still around, or returning relatively recently, Paragon, and probably more in your opinion than mine, seeing as I think you were there for a little while after I left, and there are some people from that period.
And even the others are worth it, a good group of people |

Well, first of all, it may not be as healthy as you're so convinced it is. Furthermore, your argument that no scientific study has found decreased mental capabilities from smoking pot, which is something of a talking point put forth by every pothead without actually looking into it, is also a bit iffy.
As for marijuana's effects as a gateway drug, it really is more than just coincidental, and I can verify this with some of the experiences of several of my friends. I can think of four people in my life offhand who, once they had just started smoking pot, assured me that this was it, they would never do acid or anything else. After a year or two of smoking pot, all of them have started to do acid or shrooms just as casually. The other issue involved is that the effects, while somewhat uncertain, are indeed different. I'm not sure about tobacco, but alcohol will be completely flushed out of your system at approximately the rate of a drink an hour (though it takes longer if you drink a lot in a short span of time). You can detect pot in someone's system for up to 30 days after the last time they ingested any. Whether it has noticeable effects may be the result of a dosage effect, but at the very least, it IS still there that much later. Not to mention that it really does decrease ambition, not just in the short term but in the long term as well. People claim it's not physically addictive, but even if that is true, it is extremely psychologically addictive. And as a borderline video game addict at times myself, I can tell you personally how damaging that has the potential to be. |
