I think my most memorable experience with dialup and slow downloads was when it took me AGES to download the N64 Ocarina of Time rom. And then I remember that at the time the emulators couldn't even properly emulate it.

Now THAT was frustrating.

One thing that I think might be nice would be an "activity" page, that had the same way to view members (number of posts, experience, username, rating, etc.) but for each member showed the activity.php thing. It might be interesting to look at a lot of those at once and compare them.

Completely useless, but then, so are the RPG stats (especially after several of us got tons of coins)

Nova: I really hope she comes...couldn't blame her if she didn't trust me, of course.

Nova sighed. He had been a mercenary for too long. Something like this was a good time to drop it, and fight back against the system that had nearly enslaved him. But he would need allies. Then again, he chuckled, THEY would need allies to protect them from his former employer. And he'd be just the ticket. A mutual arrangement.

Nova: And then there's that assassin...

Grow Cube

It's a rather odd online game, with many others, and I can't say I completely understand them. Basically, you have a number of things you can use on a cube, on a world, or whatever, and the order you use them matters. There doesn't really seem to be all that much reason in a lot of it...but it's fun. Try it.

Well, you did ask for it. Don't worry, it was just a tranquilizer dart. You should feel fine...though a bit woozy...soon.

I downloaded the entire internet once. Or tried to, anyway. My computer melted at some point, I remember that much.

Well, the problem with downloading the internet isn't just about the size of the internet as it is now...the problem is that, like the universe, it is continually expanding. As I've been typing this, there have been quite a few pages made, tons of images uploaded, etc...

Basically, you'd be fighting a losing battle with expansion.

Well, there are several on there. I did manage to figure out the correct order for the "Grow RPG" which was a clever little thing. Maybe I could only do that one because it was a bit more logical than the growcube itself.

Somehow, I doubt Dani is coming back. There's a good chance we'll never see her again, unfortunately.

Though I imagine, as does Kirb, that if someone saw her on WoW her name would indeed likely make it obvious it was her...if only we knew the server...

I'm thinking there's a good chance, based on what I've gathered during the few months I've been good friends with her (and not counting the email correspondence since I've been here, which isn't great for determining that), that she might just not be that interested in general. But I could be completely wrong. A lot of the reason I wonder is because she's a very friendly person, but she's rather shy in social situations...a lot like I am, really, except that I've often made an effort to do otherwise. And actually, from what she's said in her emails, she has been making more of an effort this term. I had suggested that maybe she should, so maybe she's following my advice...which would speak well for it.

Really, I don't know what'll happen. But I'll be sure to keep you updated. I just wish there were some magic way to know that you could tell me

Well, I'm glad I wasn't just going insane. I saw it at the top of a page today...once...and not before or after that.

It was bizarre. Can someone tell me what it is?

Alastor is definitely on a rage coming back from that inactivity, that's for sure.

As for SF activity, sure can't keep it up forever unless Adamant and SomerZ get really active again. If they do, well, then...maybe.

Well, most of the Famitsu scores are generally held up to pretty high standards...so even if they're somewhat biased, they tend to be relatively reliable. Then again, that could just be the masses being swayed by them and agreeing because of that, sooooooo......

I've gotten some pretty insane speeds on torrents, though I can't recall exactly what offhand. I haven't downloaded anything lately, since the server we're on has severe fines for ANY type of P2P filesharing, which they scrutinze pretty closely, even if the thing being downloaded is legal.

You think high school math is satanic? Just wait until you're doing multivariable calculus and more advanced linear algebra...and that's just first year college math. Which is also the farthest I've gone, since that's the most I need for Economics. Some of my friends are math majors, and I just don't see why you would voluntarily choose to do that. As I said, in a horrible pun, they must be mathochistic.

That guideline of ok for oldbies returning after a LONG absence wasn't applied when I posted my own thread here, and I'd been gone longer than they had

Not sure what you mean about saving the girl from the body of his opponent, but the series you are referring to is most likely "Mobile Fighter G Gundam"...

Nova checked his watch, for perhaps the fiftieth time that evening. He hadn't given the girl a time, but he figured it wouldn't take her this long to get back to town and see Mitra off. Guess she wasn't coming.

Nova: Damn fool. If she only knew what was good for her farm, she'd have heard me out. *sigh* Nobody trusts ya if you've been in the business long enough. That's why it's impossible to get out, I guess.

Bah, nothing wrong with enjoying Simple and Clean...that's just a great song, and the version that plays during the ending sequence of the original is wonderful. If the music in the sequel is even half as good, it'll be wonderful.

Honestly, Zachio, we really, really don't need to constantly hear your running commentary on how you're doing and what you're aiming for in the ACS. We all know you really want to place highly every day and that you care about it very much. We don't need to be constantly reminded of it.
