That it is. Some people don't seem to get that, though.

And asdf, I think one of the reasons I took it "personally" was the phrasing you used. Calling it "cheap" does tend to be seen as denigrating it. As for the ability to add a small part to a story, it doesn't really take that much creativity, and I certainly wasn't doing much myself when I first joined...which is why it was lucky that the stories that were going on at the time were based on video games I had played. But you really can learn to do it well, and really have fun with it.

They end up being unable to use the righthanded (i.e. superior) contraptions in dire circumstances, which don't come up that often, so they would have a *marginally* higher death rate, I would think.

((I can't really respond appropriately to that without knowing the situation Allison is in, is the problem, especially since I don't think anyone but Arminas could really communicate more than vague feelings with her through those...))

Sky: I...really hate to say it...believe me, I do...but we need to borrow a boat...and if there's nothing wrong with yours, then we'd like to take it out. And we'd pay you well for it.

Well, since obviously most people haven't played the series, they probably don't get the joke.

The villains aren't actually left-handed. In fact, the battle sprites of them clearly show one of them being right-handed, one uncertain (as he's holding a spear in both hands), one with no weapon but extending his right hand (as if in a spell) and one who seems to be left-handed in one game but right-handed in the other two in which he appears.

The joke I assume Alastor is making is that they are called "Sinistrals" and sinistral means, in one sense, left-handed. Obviously the makers were going more towards "sinister" than that, but then, even that has its roots in leftedness. So it's a rather lame pun he's making more than anything about the actual nature of the villains in question

asdf, I think we may be talking about different games here. Unless there's some stunning coincidence, the "double turns" bug is in FF4A, not ToP-GBA, which is where the discussion was...

The only games I've played in the Tales series are Tales of Phantasia (SNES version, fan-translated rom), and a bit of Tales of Destiny (PSX)...and the new GBA graphics look a lot like those in ToD. Which is a shame, since I thought there was a lot of character to the art style in the original ToP.

That's hardly analysis. Anyone with a brain can tell that this is a rather lame attempt at criticizing the current administration through a very poorly written story meant to be an allegory but instead succeeding merely in being...stupid. And anyone who can't tell that it's obviously political has no concept of allegory.

Not mention the fact that, well, it sucked.

Man, you know the Story Forum's been more active than usual, and other places less active, when Kirb's getting several points several days in a row. It's been some good stuff, and I highly recommend some of you check it out at some point. Who knows, you just might like it.

((Well, I can't control them if I don't know what they would do/think/say in the situation...))

Cassandra squeezed the jewel tightly, and made out something...that didn't make her feel any better. Wherever Allison was, she was alive, but she wasn't doing well. This was supposed to reassure Cassandra? She threw the eggshell at Arminas and backed away, sobbing as she had been before.

Cassandra: What have you done with her?!? And if you really wanted to do anything but the worst to me, why can't you just let me GO?!?

******

Sky smiled at the boy.

Sky: I've seen ambition take its form in many ways already on this trip...and I've got to say, this is by far the HEALTHIEST form I've seen it take so far. Just...try to keep the journey smooth, alright?

Yeah, that is the one issue with writing in the Story Forum...occasionally the stories will just kind of stop unexpectedly, when people leave. One of many reasons I like to be involved with multiple ones at a time, so I don't feel TOO emotionally invested in any one in case that happens.

Cassandra: You tried to kill us once before, you took me against my will, and now you won't let me go! And Allison doesn't seem to be doing very well, either! I'm just...not a violent person...but...

In a sudden movement, Cassandra had taken the spear and run to the duct through which Arminas had just disappeared. She threw the spear - sideways, so it wouldn't impale him if he didn't notice - at Ark to give her a bit of a distraction as she got on the platform.

Her mind was focused on only one thing: getting help. She disappeared, but wasn't exactly sure where she would pop up next. Especially when she didn't appear to get there instantly.

Since Anya doesn't seem to be responding to her thread anymore, I'll ask you the same question:

So one of my good friends back at Stanford will, as it turns out, be working in the same area as I will be this next fall. Funny I say one of my good friends, because I met her freshman year but barely talked to her the next two years (one of which she was away all year)...and then quickly became very close this past fall. Anyway, I was interested in her pretty early on, and she doesn't really have any romantic entanglements from what I can tell, but due to various circumstances I never actually made a move on her and dated another girl and just stayed friends with this one.

Things with the other girl went to shit around the time I left the country, and I suspect she may have been cheating on me with this guy even before, though obviously she won't admit it. I've kept in some email contact with my friend, since she doesn't use AIM, but I've really found myself more and more drawn towards her...maybe I'm just building it up in my mind. She definitely sees me as a rather close friend, but I have no idea about more than that. Any idea to gauge that before I ask her out and make things awkward, which it will if she's not interested? Or should I just not go for it at all?

Vegetable fried rice in general is just meh, I've found. You need some MEAT of some sort for it to taste good, not just for the meat in itself, but for the flavors that come with it that end up on the rice. You just can't get that with veggies.

They have pirate bandaids, but no ninja ones? What's up with that?

...but then, what would a ninja bandaid look like?

Look at the little note on that page, about the free toy inside...and that bacon one happened to come with a free pig. Amusing.

Well, that all depends on the quality of the food. With bad meat, bad spices, bad rice, any of those, and you could be right. I'm talking about good Chinese food, which is mostly what I've had, though I don't know how much of a distinction being the best in Northeast Ohio is...

I've seen ketchup on rice before, but only occasionally, and whoever did it got some funny looks. I would never do it, but perhaps that's partially because I hate ketchup on anything. I like tomatoes themselves, and I like tomato sauce and the like...but ketchup just doesn't appeal to me at all, and hasn't for many years.
