As the large red mech prepared to strike at the group in front of him, he was taken by surprise as a giant fat robot with four extending arms came up from behind and grabbed him. The arms of the violating mech wrapped up his own, stopping his movement.

Sky: Ugh! How did I not notice this?! Nothing to do now but this!

Pulling a lever, Sky sent the mech's tail into a spin. The superheated metal cut through the arms of the mech behind Anubis, and it backed off, unarmed. It was quickly impaled by the giant spear carried by Sky's orbital frame.

Sky: Anubis is superb. You can't imagine how good it is! Like I'm going down to a punk like you.

You proved my point exactly in the way you rather rudely critiqued my view. Socialism does have many forms...and in America, at least, one of its offshoots is anti-corporate interests. Whether that's true in an ideological sense or not is debateable, but I know from talking to a number of people who are in these sorts of groups that they consider themselves to be descended from those sorts of ideals. So straight from the horse's mouth we get exactly what I'm talking about.

You want a good report on media bias, go read "Bias" by Bernard Goldberg. Before you say anything, know that he considers himself a liberal and votes for democrats. So it's not the same as suggesting you go read Ann Coulter's books. Granted, they can make some good points, but unlike Bias, they obviously carry with them a right-wing agenda.

You're arguing far too much over semantics and not enough on the real point, while actually missing the point even on the semantics argument.

Snow's point was that she was using the examples of stories about anti-labor pieces, specifically anti-union transit strike, and anti-social security pieces, and saying that meant that the stations were conservative. My point was that just because they weren't extremely left-wing doesn't mean they're extremely right-wing...and socialism is indeed extremely left-wing. Moreover, labor issues and social security issues are VERY much related to socialist ideology.

It is in fact the end of all. See, last time Xkeeper got the time wrong, and meant it to go off a lot later than it did.

This time, he got the locality of the deletion wrong. Instead of deleting the board, it will delete the entire universe.

The clock is gone, and names are back to normal. I think they should probably STAY that way for a little while, given how things have gone recently.

And we need a new somewhat less insane title for this thread

It took me a little while to figure out what to do there...but it was surprisingly amusing to watch the clip with different songs.

Still, when I think of Dooku, I think now of this.

Because of the various things I can get pretty cheaply at the grocery store here in Oxford, I've improved slightly. Now I will cook things that require no more than preheating the oven, popping them in, and waiting a while, in addition to only microwavable things.

It's a step up, right?

I haven't really watched BBC news, so I haven't really formed an opinion on that.

And I'm not using socialism as an epithet...but rather as a statement of what the extreme left is. And my whole point is that the stations are NOT to the extreme left...but they're still to the left of center, and just because they're NOT to the extreme left it doesn't follow that they're to the right. That's all I was saying by that comment. Jeez, why do people argue semantics rather than the issues?

I sort of remember you Paragon...I don't remember whether I liked you or not, but considering I don't feel the need to kick you, you certainly weren't that bad, if you were on the negative end

Welcome back.

I definitely have to agree with you a lot on that one, and say that's something I considered but didn't really put into my original post. These disagreements on things are ideal when they're in beliefs and opinions. When a person is particularly active, that changes everything. Heck, sometimes it can be a problem if the person is active in the SAME things as you believe, if they're a lot more active than you are. For example, I'm a Catholic, and semi-serious about my beliefs...but I'm not particularly spiritual about it, and I'm not really obsessively devoted...and while ideally I would want a Catholic girl, since I do like to attend mass regularly, and it would be nice to have her with me, I might be a bit put off by one who's too devoted to it.

The same could really be said for a number of causes.

I think Twizzlers are alright, but I most certainly prefer chocolate. And yes, D (I think that's what I'll call you, since I'd prefer something shorter, Dani won't work for obvious reasons, Dan is a guy's name, and Da is just stupid), Reese's Peanut Butter Cups rock. In their many incarnations. The "reverse" ones are good, the crunchy ones, the white chocolate ones, the mini ones. Any others? Just great stuff.

Cassandra placed herself between Lily and Allison, putting her arms out as if to block any further advances. She wore a stern expression.

Cassandra: You leave this girl alone. Your treasure hunting caused enough trouble with the spiders, maybe you should re-think your voracious attitude.

Sky heard the exchange, but kept on digging. They were almost through, and he wasn't about to stop for a quarrel that seemed relatively minor. Still, this heightened his suspicion of the little girl. She was trouble, he knew that much.

((No, he was outside, and I stated as much in talking about how Mitra got to safety..."The dust had cleared, and the ground up to the top where the mining structure had been was more easily reachable. Sabor leaned over the top, the original kidnapper still draped over him, and Mitra riding slightly in front of the unconscious body. Nova looked up and smiled at his mount"))

Nova: None taken. Hell, even if I hadn't originally been sent on a mission jeopardizing your farm's safety. Given the circumstances, I'm grateful just to have the chance to prove myself trustworthy. What a cheerful place we seem to have stumbled into.

You just contradicted yourself there. If there can't be an objective media, then obviously there is a bias, even if it's a shallow one, in those other sources. I think Dan Rather presents the most clear example of an intentional left-wing bias. Most of the others that exist are, I think, and I hope, actually, there as a result of the personal views of the journalists coming out in ways they don't actually know are biased. Because I'd like to believe that they're not trying to distort, even if it is relatively shallow.

As for good examples, like I said, Bernard Goldberg's "Bias" tells them well and with more detail than I'd want to put into a post. A cursory search for examples brought up this page, which while likely run by someone who has his own views explaining why he sees it's an issue, let you see some examples of it.

Nova: Well, the birdcages are generally kept in the deeper levels of the mine, where the excavations were taking place. This seems to have been little more than a staging area. Don't get your hopes up.

The Rogue walked over to Nijote an produced a staff from inside his cloak, which he presented to her.

Nova: Now...I know you probably don't want to accept my help either, but take the stick. It might make things easier. *smiles* But I want it back later.

Now are those the GOOD (relatively speaking) Ramen noodles you can generally only get at an import store, or the stuff that I'm convinced is revenge for Hiroshima? It's a rather big difference.

The cereal that I miss the most, by far, is "Cinnamon Mini Buns"...there was a cereal that came out recently that looked like it was those coming back, and I was so excited when I bought it (Mini Swirls Cinnamon Buns)...only to be disappointed. I miss that one cereal so much...
