Honestly, I loved Rome. It was a great city, with lots of beautiful things to see in it. Great food, too. Did you get mugged or something? What was so repugnant about the city that made you feel that way?

Sky: I am and have always been first and foremost a man of action. I say we gather together all those who will move and go forward. Forget those in OTs, even; they can catch up later.

Sky smacks JDavis

Sky: You're half the problem here. If you have a problem, don't ruminate on it with yourself. We're too busy to bicker, let's go. We'll deal with these issues later.

What that game actually reminds me of is a bit less Katamari Damacy and a bit more "Fishy!" a game that was on the front page of newgrounds for a while.

See it here

The big difference being that in that game, one screw up and you're dead. But it does feel more rewarding then when you get really big and eat everything.

((Well, this is a study-abroad program, rather common in the US. Sometimes for a year, but sometimes just for a term, students will travel abroad to another country and experience their culture. It's a cool experience, and at least at my school I'd estimate about a quarter to a third of students go abroad at some point during their undergraduate career))

Sky: Grey, it's no ordinary Winnebago. It's about on par with that ship floating over there in terms of technology, though obviously not a warship class of any sort. It's taken us through a lot of turmoil over the years.

Sky turns to SomerZ and shoots him an inquisitive look.

Sky: Cyborg-man, you feeling alright? You're acting stranger than usual, which is saying a lot.

I think there are a couple points to be made regarding respect. There is certainly some respect that must be earned, and there's some truth to your point. However, there is also the respect due a fellow human being commonly referred to as 'courtesy' which seems to be lacking at times. Even if not everyone is deserving of 'respect' because, well, they haven't done anything, I think a certain degree of courtesy is due everyone...at least to a point. That point, however, lies far out there, and the response when that is reached should not be looking down on the person in one's posts, but simply ignoring that person. There's no need to be denigrating.

Sky was a bit put out at being shoved aside like that. He closed his cloak around him again but put his hand on the hilt of his sword. He didn't know exactly what, if anything, the old man was planning, but he didn't like the codger. Again, though, he didn't want to be the one to start something, so he was again on the defensive. Sky didn't like the defensive that much. He'd rather be the one out there dishing out the hits than waiting for them to come. In the long run, he told himself, it was better this way.

"Oi, you there, boy, watch yourself. I don't know if you can fight or the little guy's just trying to make trouble for you, but this old man isn't a friendly one."

I was a big fan of Jennifer Aniston on Friends, I'll have to admit. Beyond that, not too many that really stirred the 'crush' part of me...

A warrior clad in red garments walked up to the group, noticed a number of familiar faces and new ones, and then the bar.

"Decisions, decisions," he mused, before making up his mind, "hey, you can't go wrong with free booze."

Prepared to toss aside any who got in his way, Sky made his way over to the bar for a drink...or two...or three...

((I know it's been a while since anyone posted here, but I figure this is a nice starting point for something, and what a better way to do it than by drinking!))

I do admit I like the one with the kittens sleeping all together, that is admittedly quite cute.

Cat a day? I suppose there are stranger sites on the internet.

Sky: Aliens...who came to this planet to steal cows. I would say that's strange, but there's a moon with a very mean face on it coming ever closer, so I suppose I can live with cow-stealing aliens. As for getting in the house, we can do it the easy way *mimes knocking on a door* or the hard way *puts hand on sword hilt*...anybody want to make a choice regarding which to do?

Sky looked rather puzzledly at the dance number taking place in the plaza, and walked up to Arminas, ready to draw his weapon at a moment's notice but appearing to just have both hands hidden inside the cloak

Sky: I understand the need for defenders of justice, but don't you think you're a bit out of bounds picking a fight with the boy when you'd be better off looking at those who would attack him in the middle of the town? I have sworn to defend the peace here myself, and he hasn't done anything wrong...so anyone who attacks him is my enemy as well. Maybe that prize doesn't sound so appealing now?

Sky: Note that I'm not actually moving the lips. I'm actually imprinting these words directly into your auditory system via my unfortunately rather limited psychic powers. It only really works at short distances. And if all here are set to go, let's go...and probably the best way is towards the humming of machinery. But if you can lead better, please, feel free.

Sky: What is it with circling baddies around here? Anyway, if I've learned anything from bad movies, which I may or may not have, most undead things don't like fire. So all of you who can make your weaponry burn, prepare to do so. If you can't...well, I can flamesaber a few others for a bit.

With this, Sky unsheathes his sword. A magnificent broadsword, hardly the weapon of a mage, it shows that Sky's more a warrior than a magician. A buckler unfolds from around the magewarrior's left arm as he holds the now slightly glowing sword in his right hand and prepares to strike.

Sky: Then be sure to tell me if we're heading closer to or farther from an emerald. As for the machinery, getting sucked in may be fine if we can get out before anything slices/dices/boils/poisons us. And if not, we can try to break free of the pipe.

Sky put a hand on Arminas's shoulder.

Sky: Alright, kid, that's enough. You don't want to start a fight now, though it may be too late. Violence is for last resorts...he was annoying, but not necessarily aggressive. There are better ways to go about this.

Sky released Arminas and walked to the man, helping him up.

Sky: I'm sorry, sir, the kid seems to be a bit edgy. Don't take it personally, I don't think he wants trouble...and I certainly don't. Just let us get out of here and keep the peace here, alright?

The fight had started just after Nijote had walked into the bar, followed by the mysterious dark man. He sidestepped a thrown chair and walked into the middle of the room. The fight whirled all around him, a scene of chaos, but he seemed remarkably calm. In a sort of Zen fighting style, he casually moved an arm or a leg to the side just in time to catch one of the combatants in the middle of some quick movement. In a minute or two, some of them had started noticing.

Tall Man: It's him! That thar varmint's been hittin' us unwary!

Short, creepy guy: Less geddim!

The man smiled at this proposition, and a few seconds later there was a mess of combatants, all fighting each other, where he had been. The man took a seat at the bar next to Nijote and ordered a drink.

"So, pretty lady, can I buy you something to drink?"

Sky: Well, if she won't come out of the house, we can always go in. Sure, it's not exactly polite, but we're in a bit of a hurry, as I understand it, so we might as well. It'll be easier than killing all of them anyway.

My it seems a lot of people are around who I thought had left. And no, I never had a lakitu scheme. From the beginning I've been FF related, though I think I may have used Fighter as an avatar for a bit before I settled on Red Mage, which I've had pretty much ever since then.

I for one think that rabbit is adorable.

Speaking of the thread title, does anyone know where that term originated? I myself made it up 3 years ago, not having heard it anywhere before, but since then have seen it other places, so I'm sure I wasn't the only one to think of it.
