It definitely picks up after the first ten minutes. I felt the same way as you did when I was first going through the game. Then a couple years ago my roommate, who is convinced it's the greatest game there is, all but forced me to give it another chance. So I did, and I liked it a lot...though I do think it's not THAT good...but certainly quite a good game, albeit a bit short.

Sky: You've got to admit, "Army", the kid's got spirit. I think it could be useful to have her come along.

Cassandra: But for now, we need to hurry to catch up with the kidnapper!

My favorite scene from any Monty Python film, easily

Though Life of Brian had some nice ones as well, like the Judean People's Front and the People's Front of Judea.

Well, not just Western animation, but a lot of things that would be in the same class as a lot of anime; that is, entertainment meant for some of the same demographics. If we're going to look at "artsy" kinds of things, so to speak, well, you'll get more, particularly if you look into older tragedies and all. I meant more popular tv shows and movies and the like.

I did like Rocko's Modern Life. My favorite of that generation of nicktoons, though, would likely be "AHHH! Real Monsters"...quite odd, but very enjoyable.

I honestly never understood the appeal of Spongebob, though, and a lot of people in my agegroup think it's wonderful.

And on this rather small anniversary, I've taken up most of the past few hours for some reason reading threads on the old board. Wow, just wow, things change, but the craziness is eternal.

The question in my mind is whether it would be fair for me to post a thread for 20,000 posts, including the 19568 on the old boards. I think it would probably be pushing it.

I've always wondered what that picture Colin had as his userpic was...maybe I should've asked.

And that is rather cool. How did you get the image to transfer so well into this?

Ever since I came to college, my TV-watching has gotten to the point of just a few things like The Simpsons and big events like the Super Bowl. I watch a lot of TV when I'm at home, actually...well, half-watch, as my laptop is generally plugged in such that I sit on the couch and use it, in front of the TV as I half-watch something.

And a note to guys, if you do this: do NOT actually have the computer rest in your lap. It's very bad. Thankfully I learned this on a website before having to learn it the hard way.

...interesting...

I'm not really much of a coffee drinker in general. Basically only when I'm REALLY in need of a caffeine boost. Which is nice, as when I do have some it has a rather strong effect, and quickly.

And I do like Coke.

So I'll try it, just because, but I don't have high hopes.

And what's this talk of Cherry Vanilla Coke? I've not had any of that, though I've had and enjoyed both of the, erm, constituent flavors.

I have to wonder if this is a general trend that will continue. The US has really cleaned up at the Olympics for the most part for the past few decades. And then in the last summer games the basketball team ended up getting TROUNCED...and now this. Perhaps our athletic day in the sun is coming to an end?

Nova urged the sabrecat to quicken his pace, and quickly caught up to Nijote in time to hear her remark. For a dark and mysterious man addressing a self-proclaimed assassin, he spoke surprisingly softly.

Nova: I spent a number of years in a rather dirty line of work. Hell, even now I'm just coming out of a somewhat cleaner arrangement. It tends to draw you in, even more when you try to leave. I can help you to escape from that. And perhaps together we can strike back at those who would control us.

Sky: So...Drenchy, was it? What'd you do to get yourself dragged into something like this?

Sky was surprised it was taking them this long to catch up to the kidnapper. There was something ominous about the pathway they were following, and the rather odd method of opening the door had unnerved him as well. This road led to trouble, there was no doubt in his mind about that.

Oh, and I forgot another wonderful line:

Herbert's Father:
Listen, lad. I built this kingdom up from nothing. When I started here, all there was was swamp. Other kings said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show 'em. It sank into the swamp. So, I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So, I built a third one. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp, but the fourth one... stayed up! And that's what you're gonna get, lad: the strongest castle in these islands.

Well, the hole in the ozone really isn't quite as much of a problem as it's made out to be, really. And it can replenish naturally as well, given not too much of a strain. The sun was bound to kill us someday anyway, the question is just whether it's sooner or later.

Heh, I did the "see how long my hair" can get thing the year before last, not getting it cut between March and the end of December. Sadly, the most recent picture I have of it comes towards the end of November, so you can't really get the full extent of it...but really, honestly, it looked pretty bad. I guess long hair just didn't work for me.

I told you it was awful.

Speaking of the hole in the ozone, I decided I didn't want to speak out of my ass...again...so I actually went and looked up some information. It seems, then, that firstly, there's no actual 'hole' in that there's nowhere without ozone, but places where it is in fact dangerously low...but that's really a terminology thing. More importantly, since the banning of CFCs and other chemicals that were causing ozone depletion, by 2015 it should start to be replenished, and perhaps back to full strength everywhere by 2050. A while yes, but not awful.

So the bigger problem then is the carbon buildup.

She is most certainly quite attractive. I've never really been much of a fan of reality shows, but my sister has always been a Real World fan...so I'll tell her to watch out for this one and let me know what she thinks.
