Cassandra walked over to Lily.
Cassie: Why are you so insistent for us to join your party? We'll help you, and they'll protect us...and isn't that what matters? Sky: *to Arminas* Did I miss something? |

Manda's had some ups and downs in the past year or so, been about a month since I last talked with her so I'm not sure where she currently stands.
And I think that now I have to pick Aquarius, show some love for the water-bearer |

Since I remember old fun cartoons, if my name is to be changed:
SWAT Cat Because that show was rather fun to watch. |

You know, that is what I think of when Ziff is concerned, though it hasn't overridden what "Hitler" brings to mind for me. Maybe it's just a matter of time...

Why would the aliens need to have genders in order to be pissed off at us?

I've never seen offensive hotlinking images...I hope this one works better, though it's not as good a picture as the other one was

You know, I wanted to have a good ASCII rebuttal, so to speak, but various problems made it a bit difficult, so I'll just point you here:
http://www.text-image.com/ It's pretty cool, but the way it makes the images makes it a bit difficult to post them without a lot of conversion work of sorts. |

Oh, I'm sure it'll happen soon enough. And YD, I hardly think you have a rainbow lollipop pony mind
As for long-persisting name changes, I was "Skylent Night" for I think most of the month of January before it got changed back... |

Since I've seen this one with other names, I'm sure it's fake, but I still think it's funny, though awful:
I hope there isn't a hotlinking problem with this one; I can see it fine, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. |

See, I'm not entirely convinced of that. I think that if I were planning on disappearing without a trace, if I had some time to plan I would look for exactly this sort of thing on the internet, as I don't think most libraries or bookstores would carry books on it. Besides, with internet cafes and the like, you don't really need to have a home internet to connect online or anything...and using an internet cafe would be fine so long as you didn't go to any sites they could use to track that it was you and thus trail you.

Similar to what Grey said, to be absolutely certain you would have to have perfect information, particularly difficult as that information could change while you were ascertaining certainty.
Now to be reasonably absolutely certain would be a lot easier, as it doesn't go to quite that extreme, but would still require a ridiculous amount of testing and the like. Even then, it's a matter of faith. It could be faith in some higher power, or as many "science only!" people seem to forget, it could be faith in man's ability to properly perceive the world. So you really can't be absolutely certain of anything simply because to do so would require certainty that our methods of measuring things are completely correct, which is a study unto itself which is on the whole unsolvable without intervention by some perfect being telling us that is the case. |

A very soggy sabrecat, with a somewhat less wet rogue, came trudging up to Johnathan and the rest of the group, notably unhappy.
Nova: Nice, buddy, real nice. You didn't stop him, and look what you did to us! |

Well, that wouldn't exactly do it, actually. If you look at the image more closely, the black parts are in fact text, just put in a different color.

Originally posted by Plus Sign Abomination Well, there wasn't really all that much to read, so yes, I did read it. And it was actually more your note that they shouldn't be compared. So really what I was saying was that it wasn't really THAT unfair to compare them as you were saying. And you seem REALLY sensitive to thinking that people, particularly people such as myself, don't really read your posts, when it's clear that you don't get the main thrust of said person's reply. |

Cassandra: It's alright, kid, most of these guys just have horrible issues of insecurity and so they're upset that someone who looks so sweet can manipulate them into following her!
Sky: Um...sure. Anyway, Arminas, look on the bright side, at least that means we're on the right track. |

Well, I'm sorry that you took that last part as an insult, but it was really more of an observation than anything, as both times you've done that to me you have essentially attempted to 'summarize' my post...and in doing so, revealed exactly what I said.
As for comparing the games, I think it's a fair comparison, and right to tell him thus, in that while the gameplay may be substantially different, ICO, and from what I understand SotC as well (Though I liked Wanda and the Colossus better as a title), are not really simply about the gameplay to make a great game, but about a really immersive experience, stemming as I indicated from the design philosophies of the makers of the games. As such, even if the mechanics of gameplay and the specific goals differ, the experience may be similar in some senses. |

Yeah, but it's his board, to one extent or another, and it would be rather inappropriate to demote him...who knows, maybe at some point he'll want to post again.
Which will, of course, herald the end of the world, as I think it's one of hte signs of the apocalypse. |

Sky: Depending on how related they are physiologically to normal lizards, they also have rather poor control over their internal temperature maintenance. Which means we could likely use heat or cold against them. Do you have a pick?
Cassandra: What....should I do during this? Sky: Just stay back here with Lily. Lily, you stick behind with Cassie and don't move from there unless something's coming at you. We'll handle the Lizardmen. Got it? |
