Yes, I know, I understand that. My point was that some people have said before that the spoiler tag doesn't actually work with my posts, and have suggested it is because I make my font red via my header. However, as I have not had this problem, I'm not completely aware of what the issue is, or how it might be solved.

I've got to say, this is actually a decent plan. I'm all for it, especially since it's nice to be a part of one of those records. It may, in fact, work. I'll get the word out to those I talk to on AIM who don't come to the boards all that much, such as (A)manda.

I'm doing my part!

edit: I think we also need an official image for the campaign, be it this one or another one.

I think I missed the part where this went from "Craziness Domain" to "Crackhead Land"

Naturally is a lot better, you're right about that...when it's an option. Sometimes, and I think this is one of those cases, it won't HAPPEN naturally. And this is a good way to fix the activity problem without spammy happy hours.

No, no, the SF decline isn't the cause of the drop in the activity. My point is merely that it's even WORSE there than on the rest of the board.

It is indeed a river. A river of blood, flowing from the wounds of the enemies you have slain.

You know, honestly, I'm glad that I did have that one cigarette. I still think it's a nasty habit, and lots of negative effects, so I wouldn't ever do it myself. At the same time, though, I feel like I can empathize a bit better with those who smoke. Like I said, I did kinda like it...before, I couldn't really see how anyone ever could. I like understanding people better, and this was a good way to do so without really going against my own beliefs.

Well, you can't please everyone. The point is that you pick a window of a few hours at a time you figure most people would be on, about a week in advance, and stick with it. Make an announcement, tell people about it, put it in the banner a few days in advance...and they will come.

The funny thing is, countries with the frankest and most explicit and non-moralistic sex-education tend to have the lowest rates of teen pregnancy and STIs and whathave you (Sweden, the Netherlands). So I think Skydude is absolutely wrong that they need to stress abstinence. If that's all they said to you, they needed to address the psychosocial issues... ownership of one's body, respect for other people, and not succumbing to pressure to do things you're not comfortable with.

But fuck abstinence as a major point... it's unrealistic and probably even counterproductive.

I think you missed my point. Not stress it as the main focus, because I agree, you should deal with those other issues, since you can't really control what people do. My point was merely that since abstinence is the only way to avoid the issues people are so eager to get around, that much should be said. You don't do it from a moral standpoint, as you seem to think I'm saying. You do it from a practical standpoint. You make it very clear that these other issues, and these other "solutions" to these issues, are imperfect. I've said before that it's an element of risk, and I think it's important to communicate that, so people are making a rational, informed decision. And you also tell them the one "risk-free" solution and make it clear that it is. You don't tell them this from a moral standpoint; there are better places to learn morality than in school. You tell them this from a purely pragmatic standpoint.

People being on doesn't necessarily mean people are posting, but if you're on, chances are good that you'll post. Even if it won't be a HUGE increase in posting, there should certainly be SOME significant increase, enough to make it worthwhile.

I'm rather frustrated that the thing I went to started half an hour late. Well, 40 minutes late, but I got there 10 minutes after the time it was supposed to start.

You're hardly one to talk what with your activity after posting that.

I do agree with your later sentiment, that reading books for pleasure is a lot less enjoyable when you have to do a lot of reading for homework.

I, erm...wow. I could've sworn there was a </font> tag as the very first thing in my footer. Guess not. Anyway, let me know if there's a problem with it now.

I've got to say, I would probably enjoy SRW games more if I were more familiar with the source material. I've seen most Gundam stuff and Evangelion...but that's about the extent of my knowledge of the topic.

Interesting, really, as I had always thought it was the police code that was the reason for it. That's what my friends who smoked up always said, anyway
