Well, if you call it bad code, that implies a sort of a blame. And when someone says "you have bad code in your layout" that implies it's the user's fault...whereas the "bad coding" is more likely in some cases to be that of the coder of the spoiler tag itself.

I really don't think I'd do much of anything particularly out of character that would be that exciting, no matter what the money. This is both because some of the usual things people would suggest (e.g. wearing a dress while playing an instrument in public) I have done through the Stanford Band, but moreso because bigger things like prostituting myself and killing people I just wouldn't do for any sum of money.

People are inherently nostalgic, I feel. Yes, it was really awesome back then. But I'm not sure whether or not it was significantly more awesome then than it is now. It might be that I just feel that way about it now, and in a few years I'll think this period was better. Only time can tell, as both become looking on the past.

You know it's a slow day when there are two people in the top ten with fewer than 10 posts. Though the fact that with that, and that there were almost 500 posts, shows that a lot of people were posting...just not that many people posting that much. Which I suppose is an acceptable state of things.

Well, yes, in that case, but then there's also the other case I mentioned, which is that a few people have said that my text doesn't show up as black in spoiler tags, but rather as red, still. But only people using certain browsers, and that's what I was really getting at.

Woo, victory for me! Though looking at the tourney, if he wins Colin won't be able to be an impartial observer for the next round.

When you say at random, do you mean that sometimes you can read the text in my spoiler boxes without highlighting them, and sometimes you can't?

Spoiler:
What about now?

I'm pretty sure something like that would come from some down time. I can't imagine a day being THAT slow.

If you get several pity votes, does that make it a pity party?

I love those question boxes. I may decide to make one myself at some point...but unlike those girls, I'll be sure to get permission from local authorities before putting them out...it's really not all that tough from what I've heard from some of my more artsy friends.

The Gummi Ship sequences are definitely much more exciting this time around. And if you want to make a ship with just the functional blocks, wait until you get some shields. That gives quite a bit of protection alone so you don't need that much HP.

Posted on 04-19-06 12:26 AM, in Christianity, abortion, and the idea of punishment for sex Link
I think one of the issues is that the responsibility is seen as a punishment by those who want actions without consequences. The child is certainly not a punishment, and few sane people would actually suggest that a woman be "punished" for having sex...if anything, American society places the blame on the man (which is more often correct, if there is blame to be assigned) through forcing men to pay child support. Which I feel is perfectly justified.

What it comes down to is that by ridding oneself of the consequences of one's actions, in this case, you are taking the life of another. Now, you may not consider the developing child to be a separate human life, despite being such in a scientific sense, but even so, others do. So then you may ask, why should you have to bear this responsibility for the sake of others? Well, you chose the actions leading up to it, after all, knowing full well what might occur. It's not about punishment, it's about not putting your convenience over the life of another.

After all, I don't run down pedestrians who get in my way when I'm in a hurry.

You make some interesting points, Snow, and I feel it's a shame you had to turn that into a politically charged rant.

As for why it would be wrong, it's not about lack of consent, per se, so much as that being a more easily understandable discussion of a sentient vs a non-sentient being.

Well, it's still not Easter, so that would be a bad thread title AND rather mean at the same time...

I think in fact "HAP! HAP!" would work well, referencing this Penny Arcade comic because it is great.

Not always, though. Towards the beginning of March, I think, there was a day when the boards were down for quite some time, and the ACS was still on. It had similar numbers.

Seeing as Xk's gone, and Acmlm's...WAY gone...I doubt anything will happen to the code for a while.

And I'm convinced the Orthodox people just want cheaper candy.

Kidding, kidding, sorry if I offended anyone.

So I was curious, since a lot of people brought up normal cigarette smoking in the pot thread, what the experience people had with these has been.

As for me, I never had a cigarette ever before until this past Saturday when I was at a party, and some friends I was talking to went outside to smoke. I decided what the hell, I would try one. And to be honest, I kinda liked it. But I don't think I'll have another one. Just not my thing. Kinda glad I tried it, though.

Well, as I've not heard of some of the words used, I decided a dictionary was in order to look up anything I thought of, since some things I think should be words...aren't.

The second DuckTales game was even better than the first one. And Darkwing Duck was good too. Disney seems to have a bit better record than other licenses.

For example...ever played Total Recall? Awful.
