I didn't get an Easter basket either. I hope my parents sent me candy in the mail and I get the package soon. If I don't, then I'll take advantage of the after-Easter candy sales.

And that video is awesome.

Perhaps if I decide to become more artistically inclined, I'll make a full size banner based on Twinkle Star and submit it. Maybe button graphics, too.

One of my favorite things around Easter are the Cadbury mini-eggs. Good chocolate in a candy shell thing...kind of like uber-M&Ms, in a sense.

I'm definitely not opposed to alternative forms of therapy, goofy as they are. And that's because unless there's a HUGE problem in brain chemistry such that you need drugs to fix it, like with schizophrenia, it really comes down to the individual. Just as there are a lot of psychosomatic diseases/disorders, you can often get better just because you want to, effectively. The human body is amazing like that, and, since you bring up "scientific proof" there are times when science doesn't really have much of an explanation for why the therapy works.

I'm not just talking out of my ass here, by the way, as a Psychology major, and I've seen it happen. If people think alternative forms of therapy will help them...then they may help, scientific basis or no.

Because candy is awesome, at least in moderation. If you pig out on candy and don't eat anything healthy, well, that's "for the loss" indeed...but in moderation, it's great. And chocolate is good for combatting the effects of dementors, too.

Have you, or have you not heard of the expression "a chip on his shoulder" before? I thought it was pretty common.

Anyway, I don't really picture much of anything talking when people are posting, other than in the story threads, in which case I think of their characters...sometimes out of the SF as well, such as with Kirb, though he rarely posts outside of the SF.

Yes, I know, but the two are related fields, and in some cases can substitute for each other. Note that I did mention medication, which is, well, rather prominent in psychiatric medicine. My point was that being a Psych major allowed me to speak with a bit of authority, though as an undergrad obviously not that much, on the topic of the efficacy of alternative therapies.

Well, I think he was more referring to the fact that she didn't seem to be aware that, as the owner of a clock shop, constantly saying "cock" instead of "clock" might be something of an issue.

It's not quite so far off as to be not worth questioning, though. Though I doubt we'll ever have "sci-fi cloning"...so you'd get individuals who are genetically identical, but start from birth, and having different experiences would be significantly different people.

The Red Mage smiled. The old man had told him he would find the others with the ORBs in this town, and it seemed he had been correct. Sky hadn't expected to find one of them quite this soon, however. He noticed his ORB resonate a bit in the presence of the woman who had called herself Seraphim. It would seem she was telling the truth about having one of her own.

Sky: Nice to meet you. The name's Sky. I've been tasked with a pretty big job, and was told those with the other ORBs had the same fate.

Before he could continue, he noticed a fighter...stupid brute if he was anything like most of his class, but a good warrior and a kind soul all the same...coming his way. And he had an ORB too. Sky smiled again. The gathering of warriors appeared to be going quite well.

Sky: The ORBs are resonating. They are of the same ilk.

As he said this, his ORB and that of the approaching warrior began to glow, but only slightly. They were still largely dark. The presence of another ORB seemed to have an effect, though.

Most people would definitely put chocolate as a sub-category of candy rather than a separate thing.

I don't see how you can hate Jelly Beans and Peeps, though.

Both Psychology and Psychiatry are used in the treatment of mental disorders. In some cases, multiple different kinds of therapy can achieve the same effect. They're not perfect substitutes, but they can often be used as such to some extent. As such, it's valid to bring up one in a discussion regarding the other. A clinical psychologist will end up treating a lot of the same kinds of problems as a psychiatrist, and there's some movement to get limited prescription ability to them as well, blurring the distinction further.

They're closer than you think.

A quick search on Google News reveals that what I recalled hearing is indeed correct

See, the thing is, many of these people actually have to get a PhD in Psychology...so they are, in fact, doctors, even if not in the same sense. Medical school really isn't necessary for what they need to know, as it's already covered in the PhD program. Particularly if this legislation passes, it'll be stressed even more so. It's not as far-fetched and ridiculous as you make it seem. It's not like someone with a B.A. in Psychology (e.g. me come this June) would be able to prescribe drugs.

There's nothing wrong with eating candy in moderation, and it tastes really good. So long as you know when to stop eating it, it's just really wonderful.

Apparently, they make Peeps all year round, for different seasons. Or at least for Halloween and Christmas, which are the other ones I've seen, in different shapes and colors.

Yay for marshmallows.

I agree with you on the dislike of "-izzle" in general, but for some reason I think it works well with your name. I will convince the admins to change it at some point

Man, what a productive day. By which I mean not really. Got up early to practice music for the 10:30 Easter mass at which I sang in the choir. After lunch, I came back to my dorm, posted, played some PS2, and took a nap until dinner. Then I got my bike back from a friend, got some stuff another friend was holding for me, and came back here and posted some more.

I had meant to study today. Whoops.

Bah, it's not her birthday where she is yet

Or where I am.

But happy birthday all the same! Now you can see R-rated movies without a parent!
