The cannonball went right through the line of the milk brigade, as Nova had decided to call them, as they dodged around it, and kept going in his direction. As he dodged beside it, Nova threw out a rope which caught onto the cannonball. Holding on tight, and with the assistance of the great sabrecat's forward momentum, the cannonball swung around as Nova used the force already behind it, and he launched it right back at the shack, where it tore a large hole in the roof before landing several dozen yards behind it.

Nova: Well, always good to have another entry point, I always say.

Sky stretched out his right arm, and his hand glowed for a second. A bit later, Rufus found his trajectory changed from leaving the room to heading towards the ground, having slipped on the now icy stairs. Sky drew his sword.

Sky: You're not going to get away that easily. Give up the girl. We're not all going to fall for your tricks.

Nova: I know there is, that's why I hit the roof! Don't think I can get another one at this distance, though.

With that, the man on the sabrecat changed his trajectory to go wide of the house, out of the cannon's arc of fire, and continued the charge.

Sky: The dog's got something to do with it. Time to change his tune.

With that, the magewarrior pointed a hand at Rusty and, with a glow, sent out a stream of fire. The wolflike creature dodged the blast, but wasn't so lucky when the next one came. His fur caught on fire, and the bling he was wearing heated up pretty quickly. Yelping, he ran around in a decent amount of pain.

Sky: You fight us now or I keep this going. And I'm not really in a mood for the NGGSPCA to show up.

Sky: Sorry about that, as I said, I didn't really want to do it. You just left me no choice. *points sword at Rufus* Now, shall we do this honorably...

Sky's left hand flashed, and a bolt of lightning, seemingly from nowhere, hit the ground between him and the bandit chief.

Sky: ...or just have an all out battle?

Cassandra, with her promise to stay out of the way, followed Lucas, her gaze drifting over to Sky and Rufus now and then.

Err, wording troubles...I meant a puncher's head is more hittable, since his upper body is involved in the attacks. Reading what I wrote, I can see how that looks different. As for the one lucky shot, you can get a lot of force behind kicks, and in some ways more versatility; you can't really trip with your fists.

Though he would deny it later, Sky was caught off guard by the man's moves, and one of the kicks caught him on the arm, sending him into the nearby wall. Quickly regaining his composure, he reached and grabbed Rufus's leg with his free hand, picking the man up and slamming him hard into the rock.

Cassandra: Hehe, they do seem to make a cute couple.

I'm wondering what game you're talking about. The only one I can think of is Double Dragon and the weird hyper-knee move that I could only seem to do using turbo buttons.

Cassandra: Never you mind, dear, you'll figure it out some day.

****

The magewarrior took the force of the clothesline, moving so that it hit him on the upper torso. It hurt, yes, but also served to help him get Rufus in an ideal position as Sky leaned backwith the move and sending his knee, HARD, into the bandit chief's gut. The magewarrior moved from this to push the man away and get a bit of distance between them.

Sky: Had enough?

Picking tails...that actually reminds me of Celebrity Deathmatch, specifically a fight with J-Lo and her huge ass against...you know, I'm not sure who...but a girl with really big breasts. I think tail won on that one

Sky: I appreciate the assistance, kid, but I had this under control. You can watch his dog, if you want, to make sure it doesn't interfere. I was having fun with this.

The magewarrior put his sword away.

Sky: Rufus, let me just make things clear. I haven't really done much in this battle so far. I've not used my sword, or any of my omes, crystal or iron. Even with your special move, and even if the kid wasn't here, you're outmatched. Honestly, I'm not really a violent man, despite what impressions I've given you. But if you keep this up, I may have to go against that nature.

The great sabrecat came to a stop outside the shack.

Nova: Hey, I made an effort not to hurt her. Can't say the same for little miss smokebomb over here. You're looking pretty well for being kidnapped, Mitra. Any idea what they wanted with you?

I'm still not sure whether to vote Aquarius or Capricorn, so I'm glad they both have votes now too. As for Tauri, I'm sure there are more who haven't voted in the poll...

I forget, which one ended up being the better Pokemon to choose, Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan?

And yes, I think Death Beams would beat both kicking and punching, most of the time.

Sky: *blink* That was a bit odd. Arminas, go get your friend and come back here. I'm going to check on what they're so upset about.

With that, the magewarrior ran off after Rufus, a feeling of uneasiness coming over him as he went. Something bigger was at work here.

Sky nearly collided with Pitch as the latter came bolting back from the front door, and was shocked to see the size of the battle raging out front. The bandits were holding off the crimson army quite well, but it would only be a matter of time before they were overcome.

Sky: Time to even the odds a bit!

With that, Sky ran in front of the front line of bandits, his hands glowing rather brightly. Suddenly, a wind picked up around him, and a wall of air pushed back the opposing forces, knocking some down and allowing the bandits to gain the upper hand, at least for the moment. It probably wouldn't be enough, though.

And that's when he saw the leader of the raiding party.

Sky: That is the most beautiful evil warlord I have ever seen. Hey Purplilocks, what do you want with the girl?

Cassandra: But what about Sky? Can we just leave him?

Well, Heavyarms did have the knife, which it used to pretty good effect. I think the Leopard from X struck me as a much better done "heavily-armed" mech, perhaps partially because of the pilot.

As for the buster rifle, it's not really as limited as that. As I understand it, it can do 3 of those full-power shots, but can be used as effectively a normal beam rifle for many more shots.

I don't know if death beams beat EVERYTHING...didn't Darkseid have some especially powerful beams or something, called something else?

And who has a red name?

((It seemed natural to me, so it makes sense that Sky would say it))

Sky: Yeah, Rufus, you're definitely right. Sorry about the fighting earlier, let's take some of these guys out!

Within seconds, Sky was hurling fireballs at the crimson troops, all the while finding it hard not to turn back and stare at the commander...in her tight leather body armor, showing every curve and...no, no, no, he had to focus on the fight, getting his concentration back just in time to scorch a soldier who had snuck up behind him.
