Now what really needs to happen with this is a huge box office surge. If people organize and actually go see the movie, no matter how bad it is, that will encourage them to make more movies with such wonderful titles and premises, because they'll think that's actually what people really want to see. And it'll be wonderful.

That reminds me of this:

Abridged RotS script

Funny stuff, really, and I like it a bit better than that video, which IS nonetheless quite good.

Well, believe me when I say that my real marriage proposal would certainly be nothing cheesy like that, and I've come up with some clever and really sweet ones (rather ahead of myself, as I don't currently have a girlfriend, though I have been in a relationship while thinking of some of them). My best idea so far, though of course THE best one is based on the specific relationship, involves me as a knight on a white horse (since I do have some riding ability).

I think in some sense the proposal should be a definer of the relationship. If it's something that's built on a close emotional bond, yes, but also just on being quirky, fun-loving people, then something of that sort should probably be part of it. I've in fact thought way too much about it.

I hadn't really been serious about doing this plan, great as it has the potential to be, since as you said, Kirk, it carries with it some rather serious potential downfalls. Not too bad to ruminate over something like that, though, as a good way to look at relationship issues as a whole.

Sky: Family bonding?

Sky looks over the group a bit.

Sky: This would have to be about the most dysfunctional family I've ever seen. But it's ok! I brought the Winnebago with me! No matter what you do, it's always good fun in that thing.

Sky: Kirb, we've battled Dani *sigh* multiple times, fought Lavos in several circumstances, taken on hordes of the underworld before going to a chocolate factory, fought giant robots in mechs of our own design, probably disrupted the space-time continuum six ways from Sunday, met our future offspring, saved Hyrule more than once, and who knows how many other strange things. And you don't remember a guy who's been with you through all that?

Sky takes a running leap and makes it to the other side effortlessly. A Garo sneaking up on him as he turns to face the others quickly finds a blade through its shawl and turns to nothing once more. No more appear willing to fight the warrior at the moment.

Sky: Come on, it's great over here!

((So do we have to chose iron or crystal omes, or can we have some of each? Sky's style has always been a mix of sorts...))

Sky cocked an eyebrow at the little girl, and smiled, as he wondered how the Drow would react to something like this. Turning to the man emerging from the fountain, he reached into his cloak and somehow produced a rather large textile that probably shouldn't have fit in the space he reached.

Sky: Would you like a towel? What were you doing in the fountain anyway?

Strato shot a harsh look at Guy.

"A Child? Hardly. I've been through more ordeals at this age than a lot of warriors do their whole lives. Let these new warriors come, I can take them on easily."

As he drew his blade, a slightly curved and slender sword, and drew his gauntlet into a more aggressive attack mode, the warrior remembered his father's instructions. Limit aggression to just what's necessary until you know exactly what you're dealing with.

"Will we need to have a full-out battle, or just fend them off for a while so we can get away and regroup with others? It's kind of important to the battle strategy I'll use."

********************************

Aether heard Shen's cry, and sensitive to her needs, abandoned her observer's stance to leap into action. The first leap, however, was a mistake. The barrier proved far stronger than she had predicted, and a focused magistrike caused her to be thrown violently into the earth. Another strategy, then, was in order. Focusing her aura, Aether examined the barrier separating her from Evan and the tiny girl. It was strong, but certainly not impenetrable. It might be worn down through a remote magic strike, focusing small energies on it from multiple angles rather than a single powerful force. She focused on creating a more sustained hole to allow Shen to enter as well, but feared it would take too long to be able to assist Evan inside, as she meditated.

********************************

Sky gave Elysian a disarming smile.

"If you knew how many times I've been promised that I couldn't win, that a certain course of action was sure to bring me death and destruction, you'd think I was crazy, since in every one of those cases I've gone at my goal just as intently, if not more so. There are only a handful of individuals who can oppose evil, through power, cleverness, or even sheer force of will. Whatever it is, I seem to have enough of it to make a difference sometimes, and as such, I have the responsibility to do something. And you can make some amazing friends doing it, too. But you can also lose them. I knew this was serious, and have my children helping as well, since they're among the chosen few. But you've been carrying that guy for a while. Mind some assistance?"

Well, yes, each did some work, but the idea of salvation by good works tends to stress the amount of work and the degree of effort, not JUST that it's there. So while someone repenting on their deathbed is an extreme example, more common might be someone who repents in old age after a lifetime of greed and excess. Is it "fair" that they receive the same treatment as a man who's been charitable his whole life? Is that the right concept of equity anyway?

I don't know what the right answer is, but it's an interesting question. But yes, you do raise a good point.

I've been listening to a rather odd playlist lately, spawned by a combination of sentimentality and desire for something different. That said:

Sentimentality:
"I wanna go to a place..." from Gundam SEED Destiny
"Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen
"Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from 50 First Dates
"The Reason" by Hoobastank
"The Real Folk Blues" from Cowboy Bebop
"On Fire" by Switchfoot

This came from my need to gather all the sentimentality I could in music during some personal struggle about a month ago...and that really is about all I could muster; most of my playlist is more rock stuff.

And then after that, I have the best songs from the Katamari Damacy soundtrack. Which is really bizarre juxtaposition of music.

Grey, these posts might be better suited for the 18+ forum if they keep going in that particular direction.

But yes, SF is where I'm likely to spend most of my time, but that's not to say I'll stay away from other places if they happen to strike my fancy. Though I'll not likely post as much as I have been tonight. Beginner's initiation of sorts, and all. And very time-consuming, too.

Well, asdf, I was basically joking about that. This is craziness domain, after all, and it's certainly an odd enough discussion to merit its presence here, so long as it doesn't get too dirty

Hey, nothing wrong with being 5'9", Alastor. I grew an inch since I dated the girl (so I'm currently 5'8" for those without basic math skills), and that's been plenty tall. Granted, I'm not going to be seeing over everyone's head, but it's really about average or so for a guy. Though there is the unfortunately well-documented fact that taller men tend to earn more money than average or shorter ones. Seriously.

Honestly, I don't know why it was there that I realized it. There wasn't anything different about the Pepsi there, or anything. I think part of the reason was that I ended up drinking more pop than I do at home, so I had more exposure to both than usual.

But honestly, I think RC Cola is better than both.

Sky: Don't put too much stock in fate. I like to live my life by that credo. I'm here for a reason, all right, but that reason is more just a love for getting things done and less likely to be indicative of some grand plan. I do like your style, though. Can't blame you for the worry, with that creepy moon. My one question, though, is why we can't just go back in time a bit further so we have more than 3 days to work with things. Anyway, A more pleasant way of getting Melvin to the other side is thus...remind me if I forget anyone else.

Sky points his hand over at Melvin, who seems rather disoriented as he lifts up off the ground and makes his way over to the side of the cliff the heroes are congregating on. Sky claps him on the back as someone who hasn't seen an old friend - of sorts - in years might do.

Sky: Anyway, Kalar, good to meet you, and I hope we can do something about that moon. And whatever other billion problems always seem to find their way my way.

Sky withdrew the towel and put it back whence it came. His eyes perked up at the mention of treasure. He had come as a guardian of peace, mostly. The guild at Temir was concerned some ancient evil was going to be released. But then, they seemed to feel that way if one of them was having gas, so the magewarrior couldn't really be certain this was something to be concerned about. But treasure certainly wasn't against his instincts either. Especially because, as he'd found out before, treasure often brought out the worst in people.

Sky: What do you know about this treasure, old man? Sounds like if it were there, it would be taken already. What's the catch?

I think I'm a bit taller than my older brother, which near as I can tell, would bother him to no end. So in the interests of keeping peace, I slouch a bit so as not to press the point.

I think there may be some truth to dopplegangers and the like, not really in the mythical sense, but in the sense of someone who looks just like you. After all, with the number of people in the world, there's probably someone similar out there...right? Particularly when you get these celebrity look-alikes running around...

My favorite part of that comes from towards the end of it.

EWAN MCGREGOR
Where should we keep [Luke] in the
mean time?

YODA
Take him to his family on Tatooine.

EWAN MCGREGOR
Wait, really? You mean, to hide him
from Hayden and Ian, we're going to
allow him to keep the last name
Skywalker, bring him to Hayden's
birth planet, and put him in the
care of his actual relatives? It
would take like an hour of research
to track him down if the Empire
wanted him.
