Very nice screenies fabio. I especially like the last one - it looks tricky.

One suggestion - use Layer 3 Detail in the last 3 screens. The plain blue gradient as a background looks boring. Throw in some stars, or clouds or something - or make the level lower so that it doesn't show the BG (unless of course, you're already at the bottom )

Nice work.

Much Looks lovely now. Always remember - if you see a level with a plain background, either don't build the level up there, or add some sort of layer 3 to it.

@OOC: I swear I updated. But I didn't. Meh

@Darkdata: Stale and old. No mold .. yet So it's at least edible

(((((FABIO)))))

You pick up the glass box and prepare to take it with you. However, it is very heavy, and you doubt that you can carry it for very long. Fumbling with the box and key, you close the drawers and leave the necklace behind. As you turn away from the drawer, you get a sudden feeling that you are not the only one in this room ...

(((((DARKDATA)))))

You pull out the walkie-talkie, press a few buttons, and try to get ahold of the doctor. At first you hear fuzziness, and then the doctor's voice. "Is there something I can .. um .. HELP? you with?" You ask him to borrow a torch off the wall if you put it back after. The doctor remains silent for a while, and then responds. "Argh. You dumb kids want EVERYTHING, don't you? Fine, take the stupid torch, I'll disable the traps .. for now. Hurry up with it, and put it back when you're done, or else I may have to grant you some deliciously evil pain." He hangs up, and you can feel your walkie-talkie weakening.

USEFUL INFO: Items in this crazy house are not as they seem. Sometimes, you may see a green item in your inventory. These are better known as *spirit-bound* items, meaning they are bound to their place before they are removed. You have 3 turns to do something with it, or else it will disappear from you and reappear back in it's original place. In this case, the glass box and key fabio has is spirit-bound.

I live in Canada. I am currently posting from my igloo, which is made from permafrost. It snows at least 6 times a day, varying between 5-30 cm at a time. But give me a second to go turn on my Arctic Heating that raises the temp of my igloo from -73 to -50. Now if you believe me and think Canada is really like that, I shall come find you and stab you.

I want to live in the warm US

Well, I said I played this game a lot, I just never said I was good at it (ha?) I am definitely not Mafia though, of any kind, I can assure you all that.

I am also going to accuse cpubasic13 for the time being. It's obvious Danielle is the doctor (she admit it, and someone must be a miracle worker to get saved that much). Therefore, that leaves the other three to be Mafia. I just can't pinpoint tha Godfather right now.

It'd definitely be much cooler if we had a racing game starring one of the Kongs ... like Diddy Kong....I know! Diddy Kong Racing! I'm going to send in this idea to Rare and see what they think of it.

This is my 2000th post.

I didn't know where to put it, so I put it in a thread that had to do with spamming posting.

Also, this thread needs more then three pages.

@fabio:

I'd just like to note that this is a really unique idea. It looks like it would be quite a challenge to dodge. The one problem you may have though, is if you decide to use this idea later in the hack, you can speed up the Nep-Enut/Blargg without some hex editing - meaning he would always swim after you rather slowly. Since it's the third level though, it's ok, as no one wants to play an impossibly hard level right away.

I don't really have any suggestions for your other screenshots, they all look nice. I'm impressed you were able to figure out the jungle tileset out right away, that one is a bit annoying if improperly placed. I still wish you luck with the sewer tileset if you attempt that one, heh. All in all, nice work so far. I, along with others probably, are looking forward to your first demo of this soon.

It looks nice so far. I especially like the graphic style, seems like it would fit in perfectly on the NES cart

It's tough to find something to really improve on, but if I had to pick one thing, it would be the face on the left side (Dracula's?) It just seems too dark to me, along with the building right next to it. I know it is Castlevania, and it has always been a dark, eerie game, but I would still like to be able to see these things a bit more clearly.

Other then the brightness, it looks really good. Well done so far, a worthy cover for a worthy hack.

Thats actually exactly what I had in mind were the hills. Also, the tree covers can be a real pita too

And now for something completely interesting:

If you can't take the heat, stay out of the boiler. I am quite serious (hooray for new, charred palette)

Eh, I was, but it's not an official screenshot. Yeah .. that's it .. unofficial .. *worthless nod*

I actually have a few screens in this level, and they are all twilight/dark .. but I've been too lazy to change this one or something. Meh, I probably should.

I'm glad you agree on the charred palette. I think it suits the level well

Looking pretty good. Nice concept here. Couple minor bugs I'd like to point out, but you may already know them:

1. The status bar at the bottom still says "Kirby". The two pictures are also still Kirby
2. In the 5th screen (space/blue) the green spike tiles cut off into black. It looks awkward
3. In the 6th screen (pyramids) there are little white spaces all around the green FG. Those should be made transparent
4. In the last screen, is that strange square hole in the background supposed to be there.
5. The palette of Mario's health keeps on changing from dark to light. I don't remember it doing this in the original.

Bugs aside, the screenies look great. I especially like the use of Mario sprites in it..will be interesting to see how it works out.

Good luck!
