@OOC: Ok, as promised, update time! I have removed Riku from the map.

Also note, day and night shifts every 3 turns. Remember - hidden twists are always happening at night

I also just realized I put Darkdata on floor 2 and not Cirvante. Fixed this round.

----------------------------------------------------------

The wind echoes once again outside. Rain begins to splash against the roof of the house, echoing so loud that it is near-impossible to hear anything except that. The scientist's voice echoes through the halls.

"See? This is what happens when YOU interlope in my territory! I bet you are all regretting setting foot near my house now. AHAHAHAHA! Your families must be worried sick about you. Nearly four days, and no sign of you. Well ... I'll have to inform them where you are so they can come get you .. that's right, come and get you! Ha .. ha ..

The mansion then falls silent once again. The only sound now is the splashing drops of rain.

It is now morning.

---------------------------------------------------------

(((((FABIO)))))

You kneel down and begin crawling towards the door. The mist lingers above you. It's a good thing you remembered your fire safety rules. You crawl all the way over to the door, and attempt to stand up. The mist near the door instantly begins to fill your lungs. You had better open that door or something fast!

(((((DARKDATA)))))

You push the revealed green button, and the wall next to you slides open, revealing a new room - though as it opens, a swarm of spiders instantly emerge from the room, and skitter to the north end of the statue room. They proceed to crawl out through a crack in the bricks. One stops and turns towards you. It lifts two of it's legs towards you, and then sets them down again.

(((((CIRVANTE)))))

You put the key in the lock, twist, and open. The lock and key shatter as you do this, and you open the door. As soon as you open the door, the pale blue glow illuminates the whole room. You cannot see very far, as the light is bright. The only way to tell what is in this room is to walk in.

I'm still shooting for best post layout. Though I've had it almost a year now with no real significant changes to anything, I'd be shocked if it won.

Yes KATW, I know what you are going to say
I've never cared for that post layout. The repeating windows are pretty distracting.

They could be those ugly stripy-pillar things instead, which are, by a long shot, much more distracting.

Meh, I won in the summer, maybe not this time

Gonna take a shot and guess .. Halo? Though I am 99% sure I'm wrong.

Also, may I suggest using tables? What you have now is still better then what you had before, but tables would be the most organized way of doing things. Up to you though, as it's your game, but it would be better if you did it like that.

Look where your other thread is. It's pretty much exactly the same as this one. Why did you insist on making another one if the first one was trashed?

And I'm sure a quick Google search could return a couple SM64 hacks anyway, so they aren't THAT hard to find

I recently got this game for the DS, and after reading some really good reviews about it, it should be good. Been playing for about an hour so far, and I'm liking it. The story seems a little like your typical Final Fantasy story right now, but I'm sure it will pick up. The graphics seem Grandia-styled in a way, but very cute and pleasing to the eye. The music is pretty good too - seems rather soft. It looks rather promising.

Does anyone else have this game? Any good or bad reviews on it? I personally think it's good so far, but hell, it could turn out to be crap (doubtful)

I actually didn't see it .. probably because yeah, it was three months old

Dr_Death: You said there is an original to this game? I thought this was a new Final Fantasy .. is it actually just a remake of one I never played? Or did you just mean FF3/6 for the SNES?

Ready soon? Tomorrow? Wow .. definitely more soon then I thought

Oh, as for the screenies, I love them. I do see a couple things that irk me a little though.

The BG of this picture blends too much with the climbing net in my opinion. I think this may be because the BG is kinda bright. If you could darken it just a tad, it would probably look better.

Actually, nothing wrong with this one, but I had two questions. Is the blue block a message box, and what is that long spiral blue thing?

The rest of the screens look stellar. I especially like the carnival-looking levels near the bottom of your page. Good work.

Hm. So how does negative rings work? Does it mean if you hit an enemy, you die, and you need to get 3 rings instead of 2 to be in the safety zone again? Or does it serve a completely different purpose altogether.

And since I'm at a loss of words...

Oh ok. I never played any of the NES FFs, only the SNES and beyond, so this game should be fun to beat.

Thexare: Wasn't there a FFV for the SNES too? I thought one was released in 1992.

3. Mickey Mania (SNES)

I just downloaded the ROM for this last weak and remembered why I had so much fun with it when I was younger. Beautiful graphics, high difficulty, very unique, and lovely music. Makes you wonder where gems like this go *sigh*

I haven't played either of the two other games mentioned. I'm slacking

Those screens look decent. Two minor graphical things I'd like to point out to you though:

1) If you look very carefully, there is a small gap between the stacked Bullet Shooters. You can see the sky in the background between them. I know it's hard to see here, but if you are playing a level with a white background, it would look rather strange.

2) In the third screenshot, look at the platform Mario is standing on and the one next to it. It looks semi-awkward. I would suggest using the support thing from Butter Bridge 1 in the original (you know, the vertical pole thingy) as opposed to what you currently have.

If you are unsure of what I mean, I can provide screenshots to show you. Other then that, this hack looks decent. I like your area names (Nexus Beta, Nexus Delta) They sound nice.

SIx-Face Sal's fort is a royal pain in the ass to get 100 points on. Just a heads up. Also, good luck on world 5 when you get there - but I'm sure you already knew it was going to be tough.

@OOC: Well, gee .. why not update now then?

@Darkdata: They were small spiders. Very small. Yeah.

---------------------------------------------------

(((((DARKDATA)))))

You walk past the spider and into the new room. Covering the walls and ceiling a giant, silky spider webs. From the roof, you can here a clattering noise, and from the walls, a skittering sound. In the middle of the room is a dusty metal chest, but it is completely tangled in a web, and would be impossible to open unless you somehow removed it. On the far wall, you see something brown sticking out behind a web.

(((((CIRVANTE)))))

You want into the pale, blue cell. As soon as you step into the blue light, your vision blurs for a minute, and then corrects itself. Ahead of you, you see a circular room with a large podium in the center. It appears to have a small round hole in the center, where something like a vial could fit. The bricks on the walls are made of blue crystal, and you even notice a small chunk of pulsing crystal on the ground near your feer.

(((((FABIO)))))

You hold your breath, but not for long, because you already got some of the mist in your body. However, you still have consiousness, and you quickly twist the knob on the door, run it, and shut it behind you. You are now in a rather small room. The walls are dripping with a strange green liquid, and the ground appears to be made of a creaky wood. There is a pillow and blanket in the northeast corner of the room, and a shelf with two drawers in the southeast corner of the room. The northwest corner of the room is empty. You feel a little dizzy and dazed from the mist, however, and struggle to keep your balance.
