| @KATW: Yeah, I know. I guess I cou;d just consider this my test layout for now. The background, now that I look at it, doesn't look too good with the table.

@Aurxix: I will, but I'll have to find a better BG> @Alastor: As I said above, I noticed it kinda sucks. So I'll fix it. I think for now, I'll lose this layout, and now that I know people's opinions and such, I can probably produce a better one soon. Thanks again, it was informative

| Well well...not bad if I do say so myself. As for the screenies:
Screen 1: Nice OW, but a few glitches you need to correct: a) The cave tile on the left green mountain looks out of place b) At the bottom left cliff and bottom right cliff, the colouring of the cliffs is darker than it should be. c) RIght in the center, you have a big green hill stuck in the ground, and two other at the front right and front left corner. These cut it off. d) On the 3 big left hills, the bottom of the top one is cut off. Screen 2: Good Screen 3: Nice, but looks a bit too hard with all the dry bones. I'd suggest removing a couple of them, since it's only the first level Screen 4: I like it, but again, few notable glitches: a) In the two cubby holes, the top left tile is not there. It looks cut-off b) Top left corner of each little brown platform tile uses the wrong tile. I would suggest searching through the corner tiles until you find the one that matches the brown Screen 5: Again, the two inner corner tiles are cut off. Add them Srceen 6: Nice job here
Screen 7: Ditto. Looks very good Screen 8: Ditto again. Screen 9: Heh. No complaints here. Pretty good Screen 10: I like that idea of running under while you have traps up top. Nice! Screen 11: Not bad, a bit plain though. Add more life to it! Screen 12: Read above Screen 13: That's cool - a path of grinders. Creative idea
Screen 14: Not bad. All in all, it needs some tuning up, but for *digs out lecture* "For not having ExGFX, custom blocks, etc., this hack looks like it might turn out well" Nice work so far |

I think I know the meaning of the dream. I'll put it in a spoiler. Spoiler:
I think the grey triangle represents General Guy, the purple rectangle is the Bandit, the green shape is Yoshi, and the pink circle is Kirby. I think the three of them team up to defeat General Guy, but then someone most powerful comes and kicks General Guy out of the way and..... ...thats where the dream ends. If you were trying to send a message in it, I think you did a good job ![]() |

Well...I've finally made up my mind. The Thousand-Year Pipe is officially done. That was my first hack, and when I really look at the level design, OW design and stuff, it never really got good up til about the third world (and I had 17 levels in the second world - and about 30 events already used ) I guess this is goodbye my good hack. May you rest in peace.

Well. That ends the depressing part of the post. Now..onto the good part! Since I now have a very good knowledge of SMW hacking, it's time I started a new hack titled "The Millenium World" (not creative at all). All I have right now are three screenies - one of the OW, and two of the first level. (remember, this thread is dedicated to TTYP - this is just a bonus)
Comment: This is the first OW - loaded with custom palettes. Like something, tell me. Don't like something, tell me.
Comment: Quinta-Isles 1. It isn't very exciting, and it's fairly easy. It IS the first level after all
Well, thats all for now. Sorry to see TTYP go...but looking for comments on the new screens

| *sigh* It was inetesrting - I just screwed it up. Kinda with too many events here and there, WAAAY too many random files scattered around - massively unorganized. It could have been much better. Ah well.

| I don't have the answer to your main question..but I do to a couple of the others.
For the hills looking like the Yoshi's Island hills popping up after you beat Paradise Land 2, simply open the OW editor, go to Layer 2 event editing mode, press Pg Up or Pg Down until you find that event on the map, click on it, and hit delete. Do that to all of those tiles. I always thought the thunder was a sprite. I would just recommend putting the map you're working on onto a different submap, and make the Bowser's submap a lightning world, or dark world, or something that needs lightning. Sorry if this isn't much help, but it should help at least a bit. |

| @Bio: I think he means hex editing SMW in general.
If you go into LM, hit "Open Level Address" on the level you want, it will show you the number in hex (example go to level 104 - YOSHI'S HOUSE - and hit "Open Level Address" You'll seea number in the box, thats the hex.) You can just do that for every level to find out their values. I THINK that was your question |
