@OOC: Exams = t3h suck.

------------------------------------------------------

Throughout the mansion, you hear a clock chime twelve times. That can only mean it's noon or midnight - and by the feel of the mansion and the darkness outside, your excellent knowledge of deducing says it's nighttime.

It is now night. The second floor doors have flipped.

--------------------------------------------------------

(((((DARKDATA)))))

You take the torch off of the wall. The crazy hand reaches out to grab you, but falls short when it realizes you have "permission". You walk over to the chest and set it on fire. Instantly, the web ignites and sparks fly everywhere. Before your very eyes, the web burns away - but so does the wooden chest. However, the contents of the chest are still intact - a small black box with the label "Do Not Lose" embedded on the cover. When you look for a way to open it, you see a combo lock on the front with three numbers. They are pointing at 9 2 5.

(((((FABIO)))))

You continue to carry the box and leave the room - right back into the poison. The box with the red key begins to feel slightly heavier, and the poison once again fills your lungs. You cough uncontrollably - and the glass box flies out of your hands. When you try to see where it is, you can't because of the fog - but you are sure it is still on the ground in this room.

(((((CIRVANTE)))))

You take the crystal and put it in your pocket. As you do so, a bright light shines from the circular room ahead, and the pale blue aura begins to fade - revealing a strange looking room directly in front of you. There is a small table in the middle with a vial of clear liquid on it. There is also some sort of memo pinned on the table directly next to the vial. It seems to be a sketch as well as some notes.

I like the first one more then the second. The dark effect on the clouds is pretty awesome. Second is still nice, but nothing distinctively stands out like the first one to me

So much air pollution in Canada that it's damn near impossible to see a nice sky

Where on earth do you live? >>

The only places I've ever had problems with seeing nice skies are in some cities and such. heh. And that's not just a Canadian thing. :x

I live in suburb off of the capital of Ontario, but I've been pretty much all over the southern side of it at night, and have never seen a decent sky. Need to go about 300 km north to see anything decent Meh.

I could use more sky screens to look at

Screens are looking good fabio. Is Burt's Forsaken Fort from Wind Waker's "Forsaken Fortress" by chance?

Couple things I'd like to point out:

1. The Blargg looks as if it is one space too high. It's hard for me to tell, but I know it seems higher then the one I used in my hack. You can tell if it's correct when it goes into the lava - all you should be able to see are the eyebrows.
2. Might I suggest using object 43 - striped object in castles - a bit more? Mainly reaching from the ceiling to the floor? It would add a little extra flare to your levels

This hack is coming along very nicely. Keep it up!

Definitely the first one. Nothing wrong with the other two, but the first one matches the background of the lava, and just looks nice. I used that palette in 3-8 of my hack, but it was pretty badly implemented. You, on the other hand, made it look good, so great job

Do you mean the white window in the BG, or the white part of the castle wall? If you mean the first, that is actually part of the layer 2 image and can't be changed. If you mean the FG part of the diagonal wall with the little brown specks in it .. well, the only option then would be for him to use the other palettes

When I'm not hacking YI, I'm most likely playing TESIII: Morrowind because that game is so damn awesome. I recently decided to try my hand at making a mod for it. I have devoted about 10-15 to it so far, and managed to make a forest, cave, and a bunch of quests, along with a nice town

Welcome to the Isangloom Woods Region. Enjoy your stay.

(note: screenies may be a little dark. Turning up your brightness for a few seconds should solve this)

The Forest

Nothing like some Scribs, and a lake. Hooray for jelly!

The Cave

Looks like someone didn't finish their study here

Comments?

In fact.... The palette is wrong for ALL of the screens! In the first screen, it's only the foreground that is wrongly-colored- The dirt is mint green. It's supposed to be light tan/brown.

The green coin in EggVine is actually a glitched thing, and messes up the sound, so he really shouldn't be using it

Also, there's nothing wrong with the FG. Sure, the BG looks a bit tacky, but the FG looks fine.

You should consider moving up to Oblivion at some point. The same magic isn't quite there, but the modding capabilities are nearly endless (not that Morrowind had _limitation_ as a problem).

Thank you for the comments. However, I will probably never make mods for Oblivion - for some reason, I really did not like that game after playing Morrowind. It just seemed too .. eh .. bland. Not as immense, to say the least. That, and the fact my computer isn't good enough to run it without lagging into oblivion

@OOC: Meh, here I go again

-----------------------------------------------------------

(((((FABIO)))))

You kneel down and begin crawling, regaining your breath. You can clearly see the glass - but that's all you can see. When the box hit the floor, it shattered. The floor is littered with glass that would surely pierce your skin if you crawl through it. Not only that, the poison also seems thicker where the glass broke. The red key is just beyond the glass - but would it really be wise to try and get through that? Ponder it.

(((((DARKDATA)))))

You begin to return the torch from where it came from, but there is no need. The crazy hand shoots out at you, grabs the torch, and recoils into the wall. The torch is back in place. You then try to pick up the black box. As you do, the numbers on the front seem to go haywire, spinning up and down. The words "Do Not Lose" immediately change to the numbers 2 3 4 - the number of letters in each word. The keylock has reverts to 0 0 0 and freezes like that - like it's waiting for some sort of code.

(((((CIRVANTE)))))

You walk up to the memo and begin to examine it. You see a strange picture similar to the map of the second floor, except it only shows three rooms - the one you are in, and two more to the west of you. Each room looks exactly the same, but has a different letter. The one you are in is "B", the one west of you is "Y" and the one directly west of that is "R". Three labels are directly underneath each room - from left to right, they are listed as P O G. Finally, near the bottom of the memo is a few lines of scribbled handwriting:

"Hello, victim of the Master. We hope you have been enjoying your stay in our humble home so far. Welcome to the second floor - the home of chemistry and other amazing things. If you are reading this, you probably have a blue crystal in your possession. Lightly dabbing it in bottles of liquid can change the colour of it. Figure out this colorful puzzle to progress."

The signature is illegible.
