There is no such program. Code the additional powerups yourself.

Mario's Y position. (If there's two such bytes, the lower byte is the correct one.)

You're supposed to use the absolute Y coordinate, check if bit 3 is set, make it solid if it is, otherwise not solid.

Thank you, all.

P_ac: "Hic"?

asdf: Xk banned me to test tunabot's ban capabilities. After asking him a million times to unban me, he changed my name to '?'. After asking him a trillion times to change my name back, he changed my name to "smallhacker" (instead of "Smallhacker")

S.N.N.: Does this count as a comic?

HyperSomething: Meh. Too lazy. The only thing I would be able to force myself to do is to finish the next version of Clean ROM Verifier. This new version would be able to detect if a ROM is clean american, clean japanese, clean european, clean american (headerless) or not clean. If it's a clean headerless american ROM, it would ask the user if it should add a header to make it a clean headered american ROM.

Why do people belive that code can be copied from one game to another? You CAN'T copy code from game A to game B and expect it to work, unless the games uses the same game engine (like Super Mario Bros. and Lost Levels).

What?! No, they don't. SMW and DKC3 aren't even similar when it comes to gameplay, so just beliving that they use the same engine is... ugh! Also, SMW was made by Nintendo and DKC3 was made by Rare!

There's already a program for it: SMW - Level Entrance Repointer.

...however, it shouldn't be fully trusted. The entrance levels may sometimes get messed up (at least the background). My guess is that the entrance levels dislikes the level format changes made by FuSoYa.

Also, you have to use the program every time you edit the entrance level (since LM may move it around, making the pointer point at the wrong place.) Also, I've heard that locking the ROM will move the level, causing problems, meaning that you have to repoint one last time after locking the ROM. (To make SMW-LER able to open locked ROMs, use the command line parameter "-steal".)

Edit: Also, what have this thread got to do with ASM pointers?

I made (and released) an ASM hack that used the level pointer table instead of the normal pointers. Link.

Hm... That's an interesting idea.

5) force players to revert to regular mario at the beginning of every level. That way only powerups collected in level A can be used in level A, and level B which isn't designed around the cape doesn't have to deal with it.

I made a HP system once. There was no Small Mario. Super Mario was the default state. Getting hit by an enemy caused Mario to lose HP, but not his powerup. However, the powerup was reset between levels.
