Have a nice day. |

How about this idea? (Pretty much stolen from Sonic Adventure 2)
Add a saving system which allows you to save if a level is beaten or not, items, and stuff. When you start up the game, you choose if you want to continue your Mario game or Luigi game (or maybe erase one or both of them). Once you beat both Mario's and Luigi's game, their storylines merges together into a final storyline. (On the title screen, you choose between, like... Mario, Luigi and Bros., where Bros. is this final storyline.) The final storyline would be a (very long) level where you're able to switch between Mario and Luigi at will (to use different abilities at different places) to reach Bowser's final FINAL form or something. (Suggestion: If you make this, make Mario's and Luigi's storylines pretty much comple quests, but with a cliffhanger at the end which hints about the storyline development in the final storyline, so one gets motivated to continue the other brother's quest) (edited by Smallhacker-felinian on 03-07-06 10:08 AM) |

Uploaded Ice Man's M16-7k to SMWCentral to offer some kind of help before throwing this into crap forum.
Read the comments you already got, read the tutorial, look in old threads, figure stuff out yourself. |

Link to SMW Central
Link to Newbie FAQ SMW Central is a website dedicated to SMW Hacking. Anyone can visit the site to find ROM offsets, download hacks, find hacking tools, submit documents, upload hacks, and read the Newbie FAQ. The Newbie FAQ is STRONGLY recommended to read before asking any questions here. (If the answer a question can be found in the FAQ, the thread will most likely be closed.) If you're interested in linking to SMW Central, we've got two banners for you to place in your signature: 88x31:

We've announced the site's existance before. (2 Jan, if I recall correctly.) Also, we've announced updates to the site. Never before in a sticky, though.
And yes, there's a submission system so that anyone can get their stuff hosted. However, due to the risk of someone submitting... inappropriate stuff... submissions has to be accepted by the staff before appearing on the main lists. |

1) This has been suggested god knows how many times, and to my knowledge, it has failed every time.
2) That was your first post. Nobody knows you, nor what you're capable of doing. I doubt that anyone would like to make a hack with an unknown person. 3) Since this thread won't lead to anything (according to statistics), there's no real point in this thread. 4) Threads without points should be closed. |

Copied and pasted from SMWC's offset list:

Just a few notes (related to SMWC)
1) Please double check that the ips file works before zipping it and uploading it. Try to only upload it once. 2) Don't link to the file before it has been approved. Once it's approved (which it has been), you have to edit the link. (The link in the first post is currently dead, in other words) 3) "Website / AcmlmBoard User ID" means either your website address or your ID number on the board, not your board nickname. (Your ID number is 75, in case you didn't already know) |

Newbie: Someone who's new to something.
n00b: Stupid newbie who can't handle constructive criticism, nor realizing his own knowledge and other flaws. "(I said newbie, not n00b, meaning people who are new and untrained.)" The last part of that described (and was supposed to describe) newbies, not n00bs. I guess that I could have worded it better. |

Accepted:
"Hey, would anybody mind helping me out? My graphics talents are next to unexistant, and I need a nice night sky background. Any help would be appreciated" Unaccepted: "d00ds make a hax 4 me or DIEIEIEIEIEIEIEIEIEIEIEIEI u all sux ur lame u shuld be proad that i alow u 2 help me on my hax fukin loserz!!!!!1111111111 off coarse u wont get 2 get creditzorzed CUS ITS MY HAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111111 i pwn u at all shut up n do it or ill hax exkepers acount and banz u all" I think that requesting help (as in asking people to do something for your hack) should be allowed, as long as the question is asked in a nice way (like in the "accepted" example). I think that a graphics request thread might be good. (Maybe not right now, but in the future.) Sort of like the old ExGFX Workshop thread. |

There's an odd thing about the blue shelless koopas' graphics I noticed when helping Kyouji Craw with his hack.
For some reason, the game copies the sliding koopa frame from GFX00 to the same location in whatever file is loaded into the first sprite file. (This is done during the game. The graphics in the ROM itself are unchanged.) (Note that I haven't made any experiments to verify this.) Unless someone finds the piece of code that causes it (and manages to disable it without causing bugs in the game), there are only two solutions: 1) Don't edit the blue shelless koopa graphics. 2) Edit the blue shelless koopas' tilemap to make them use another tile which you'll not use in your hack. If you're not using berries, you can use the smiling coin graphics (dropped from the berry coin cloud). |
