It seems that SMW's rom has dissapeared off the face of the internet? 
I googled so many different ways to find an actual dl of the rom (Not those damn sites that make you vote 4 times PROPERLY and say you didn't vote right/cheated, yet the vote links are different when you try again, and if you retry in another window, the links are always in the same order). I have an OLD ( I'm damn sure) hacked version of mikeyk's rom only with hacked levels with the hammer bros. and Racoon leaf, but no other SMW roms...
So anyone have any thoughts? |

Yeah, I guess it was me. I tried using limewire to get the SMW rom and...it took like ten minutes to find JUST Super Mario World out of SMW 2 and SMAS + SMW roms.  (edited by Vilgirio on 02-03-06 12:57 PM) |

okay...I don't know WHERE to start off first because, as the title explains, everything bad happens to me. I want to cry, but I've been shunted pretty much my entire life, Mentally abused, and beaten on, that I just seem to not be able to display emotions anymore... I'm like a computer with so many viruses on it that it can't do what it was programmed to do any more.. I even try to be nice and help people, but SOMEONE has to be a complete asshole and ends up making me be gloomy and hateful towards people... Want to hear what I say when I'm pissed or depressed? I hate people. My life is so bad, that at one point I even considered suicide.. I know, I'm a wimp ass pussy to consider an easy way out like that. The only people other then family and some close friends that like me only know my cyber personality, as I play a Ragnarok online private server most of the time, unless I'm rom hacking. I'm sure they would think I'm a loser and a weak ass wimp if they knew the real me. I used to be a very happy person, because my Dad told me that I smiled so much in my play pen when I was 2, that him and my Mom seriously considered renaming me to Stevie Wonder. I wasn't even crying when I typed this, because as I said earlier, I'm like a computer with so many viruses on it that it can't do what it was programmed to do any more.. I could burst out though, but I'm so afraid of hurting/killing/mentally abusing someone when I do...I mean, yeah most of the people I know caused me to be like this and I should feel like I want revenge, but I still feel like they will get their true punishment when they look back on the days when the made one of their classmates tainted and feel like a total and complete ass. I wish they could somehow find out that if they actually cared about me, that I would do the same. Here, I'll give you a description of what I look like and some other things. I'm 130 lbs., about 5' 3" a little chubby, I have brown, short hair and brown eyes.I'm 13 years of age, and I almost have a single eye brow spaning across the tops of my eyes. I'm treated like a nerd, but I most likley have the losest marks of the class right now out of drepression. I know, ironic, isn't it? I also wish I could find a girl who could actually comprehend how I feel like and actually understand me. Maybe that could be possible, if I wasn't shunned away by people. |

| Okay, heres what you can do.
Open LM and hit the green mushroom button. that extracts all the GFX into a folder called Graphics, which sits in the same folder of the rom your using. Get Tile Layer Pro (www.zophar.net) and open it, then hit the open button and go to the graphics folder. At first it looks like there is nothing in it, but go to the 'Files of Type' tab and hit the All Files option, then open the file called 'GFX32'. It SHOULD look like green garbage at first, but if you go and hit the veiw tab and go to format, then snes, it will actually look like mario, but with screwed palettes, which is TLP's default. That should have most, if not all, of the mario sprites. from TLP's help file: To export a bitmap, first select the area of the current ROM window you wish to save. This is done by using the right mouse button to size the desired tile grid. Then select Edit->Export Bitmap. To import a bitmap, select Edit->Import Bitmap, and load the bitmap you wish to import. The bitmap will be positioned in the upper left corner of the current ROM window, and you can use the mouse to move it to the desired position. Just export the parts you want to edit, replace them with SMB3 mario sprites, and then import them and move them to the desired position. Hope this helps. | I was wondering if anybody could possibly help me with the sprites of my upcoming hack.
Heres an example of a mario sprite I would like...: 
Yes, A cop mario style. It took me 3 HOURS too make that. Thats why I'm asking for assistance. I was also wondering if someone could make every chuck look like a thug. If you could help me out, I would be VERY greatfull, not to mention I would have to add you into the credits because you'd probably chase me and beat me with a very big stick... 
Also, if anyone makes any other sprites out of any other SMW monsters, please show me, I'll most likley add them in. |

*looks at his pathetic cop mario sprite* BTW, I found a way to put the graphics into a hacked rom..well technically, its not hacked before the graphics are in...but hey, it still works. export the levels from the hack you want to have the graphics from. Patch a clean SMW rom, and then open THAT in LM and import every level and save. Boom, your fav hack with icegoom's GFX. |

| Well...I did as your instructions told me to do..I cant remember the offset (somewhere in the F8000s) I put the data at, but it pretty much blew up my rom.
It was able to load the nintendo sign, ans started loading the title screen (all you coulkd see was it very faint) and just started the music, then kinda lagged, then crashed to loads of garbage and the Vanilla Dome music. Lucky I backed it up before I did anything. 
EDIT: I put it at 98200 like you did, and it screwed up my rom again..105 and 106 are mangled beyond fixing and some levels I get the warning 'the graphics file is larger then it should be. this could cause glitches during gameplay.' But then again, I think I might have accidentally put the map16 stuff on page 5... EDIT2: Nope definately on page 4..might be my rom, or the fact that I'm also using Icegoom's gfx hack... *This step for people who DO NOT yet* **have custom blocks in their hack** At x37890:EA EA EA EA 22 40 80 xx: At x378A0:EA EA EA EA 22 80 80 xx: At x378B0:EA EA EA EA 22 C0 80 xx: Are those bold numbers absolutley needed? Screenshot 2: . . . The overworld needs to be overhauled ALOT. If your not good at the overworld, ask someone else too, and if they can place thier name in the credits. Screenshot 3: Nothing too serious, just give those blocks some more time to make them look good, so it doesn't look like you rushed it. | You have to get a Hex Editor (www.zophar.com) and put a certain number of zeros (Sorry, cant remember how many bytes there are...) after the very first number, which is a 4.
If you cant do that, your best bet is too find another rom and try it on that. Best I can help you with right now.. |

I was wondering if I could have the offsets in HEX of where the distance of Iggy's platform turns? I know it used to be posted somewhere...but I can't find it anymore and I would really like it if someone could point it out. I'll even give credit to the person in the credits! 
P.S.: I'm too retarted to use the tracer...so thats why I'm asking.  |

| The upload option is a little...anal? I know its for security reasons, but it can be annoying. Your just going to have to upload it at a file hosting site (www.sendmefile.com, www.savefile.com, ect. savefile is better.) or, like you said, wait for an email from them. | |||

| I need one for one reason. I ABSOLUTLEY SUCK at putting ExGFX in. When ever I try to put some ExGFX in I tend to blow up the level.
I gave searched all over the forum, I looked at SMW Central's FAQ, and I looked at Ice Board. I KNOW there used to be a tutorial, but I think it died with the old board. |
