| I'm quite amused at all the typos, spelling errors and other errors.
"board" instead of "bored". "bord" instead of "board" "tat" instead of "that" See, one or two typos happens to everyone, but when I have trouble reading the sentence cause every second word is a typo... lol.
Course, I'm easily amused / annoyed by failure at the English language (by those who claim it is their first language). |

| No, I would suspect that the reason some might hate their board is -- if I'm to interpret some of the things I've read correctly -- that they come across fairly petty, and hateful.
Perhaps they would do well to go and mind their own business, instead of bitching about the state of this board. They claim that they dislike this place; yet from all appearances they are obsessed with it. Wouldn't it be better for them to move on? The fact that they cannot construct a decent sentence however just serves to make them look stupid, as well as petty and hateful. (edited by Tarale on 09-08-06 10:48 PM) |

| Rather than hijack Xkeeper's thread (which I might have already done a bit) to talk about Screensavers, I thought I'd start a new thread about them.
What do you use as a screensaver? I've found it harder and harder recently to find a decent screensaver. You can find a whole heap that are full of spyware and adware, or want you to register, or pay money or whatever, but it's hard now to find a decent little screensaver. So, I've started trying to collect some of the older, retro ones. I've already managed to acquire a current working copy of Flying Toasters for example (but nothing else that was for After Dark). I've also still got a working copy of "Johnny Castaway" by Sierra. My favourite screensaver ever is the Johnny Castaway one, just because even after watching it for years, there are some things that I havent' seen on it.... maybe one day I'll be lucky and see them... Generally though, I seem to have the generic windows XP screensaver, or "Flurry" in OS X.

| Well, I'm serious -- I would think it would be better to move on.
I understand hanging onto things that mean a great deal to you -- like a relationship with a friend, or such -- but I don't understand hanging onto senseless, irrational things like this. This is one of those things that really, in the grand scale of it all, means absolutely nothing.... I just... don't get it. I cannot see any benefit at all to all of this.
Course, it's always confused and amazed me how people can do this. It did when I used to have a problem with somebody on the Citadel too.... how somebody could just be so obsessive over being banned from a messageboard... for years and be willing to stoop to blackmail to get their way...
I just don't get it. |

| I half wonder if the only reason I put thought into it is because I grew up with screensavers...
I grew up with After Dark for DOS, and then for Windows. We used to almost "collect" the things. And now that I work in an office and appreciate the privacy afforded by screensavers, I miss being able to find a decent one easily. |

Not sure what "Wacky Races" nickname means, but Peter Brock's been named "Peter Perfect" for probably some thirty years now. And probably King of the Mountain for almost as long.

Peter Brock was nicknamed Peter Perfect because of his record on the track. He is considered one of Australia's greats in Motorsport.

Starfield Simulation looks quite good in a dark room, actually. It's a fairly dull and simple screensaver, as those things go, but I remember as a kid thinking it looked quite striking in the dark.

Reminds me, there were a lot of interesting screensavers on Linux that I enjoyed too. I particularly get a laugh out of the BSoD one  Or more to the point -- I get a laugh out of people's reactions to that screensaver.  (restricted) |

Today, there's some news about Obesity, and the trouble with getting medical drug trials for Obesity.

Some of the problem with getting drug trials for the obese is that there is an idea that Obesity is not an actual "disease" both inside and outside of the medical profession. And there's a bit of people blaming obese people for their plight too. I've noticed when I was bigger that sometimes people give you funny looks when you buy certain foods, and it actually really bothered me when I was losing weight, had already lost 10kg or so and was still having people give me judgemental looks if I dared to buy chocolate... I've had one person tell me not to eat the chocolate.
