Hooray for clockspider.

I'd attempt to squish 'im with the clock. If that failed, I'd bang the clock around till he was in shoe-smackin' range.

Ahhh likes the shoe-smackin'.

I dunno -- like I said, all I'm trying to do is stun the spider into closer range. I prefer to kill it with a shoe. I find that poisons here are effective at stunning the spider enough for me to be able to whack it into a flattened mess.

Although it IS possible to kill spiders with the sprays we have here, it just takes too long and quite a bit of spray. I want the spider dead FAST dammit! The sooner its dead, the sooner I can relax.

You'd think so, but people don't.

Perhaps also because that might mean they'd have to acknowledge their weight gain, which can be hard for some people to do.

I'm guessing you're a teenager, in which case, yes, this is perfectly normal and is one of the known side-effects of being a teenager.

It will catch up with you, but at your age probably not as quickly as sleep-deprivation catches up with me. But you WILL get sleepy, and eventually your body will force you to sleep, one way or the other.

But yes, being a teen is known to wreak havoc with sleep patterns. It's fun while it lasts though

I didn't say that anybody was or wasn't a "morning person". I wasn't when I was a teenager.

However, it's fairly well known that once you hit puberty, your sleep patterns shift so that you go to bed later and later. It's a shift in your body clock, seems to change on average by about two hours.

However, teenagers bounce back from sleep deprivation... amongst other things... a lot better than most. Doesn't mean you are or are not a "morning person", but you're more of a morning person now than you're ever likely to be -- it only gets worse, people

God damned growing old sucks. I don't bounce back from bloody anything well anymore. You might still be a morning person when your body is no longer as adaptable to various abuses, I dunno. I know I feel like I've been hit in the head with a brick if I deprive myself of sleep too much.

What was it?

Maybe I am misunderstanding this whole thing. The way I pictured it, there was just a button above/below the Acmlm's Board picture that said "Blow up the board!" and got you banned for pressing it.

Come to think of it, that is a pretty ridiculous idea... I have to be confused here.

Yeah, I'll agree that it's a ridiculous idea. But I think it's more ridiculous the amount of people who clicked on it.

It WAS fairly obvious when you hovered over the link what would happen

No, not everyone knew what was going to happen. But I know that you did

And once it had gotten a few people, it would have become more obvious too... but it did get a few people particularly early in the piece.

I tend not to like the idea of pills myself -- but then I hear they don't tend to lead to *quality* sleep.

However, I'm having issues regarding sleep at the moment. Once upon a time, I used to be able to "roll with the punches" a bit when it came to irregular sleep patterns. Even if I only got minimal sleep for days on end, the worst I ever felt was very tired...and once after a week of it... delusional.

Now if I get less than 7 hours sleep, I really, REALLY feel it. Not enough sleep, and I experience anything between non-functional tiredness (which I attempt to rectify with espresso) to feeling sick to my stomach and this stupid stabbing pain behind my right eye. I reckon it would take me ONE all nighter now to become stark raving delusional mad, instead of 4

*cough*

So, it's school holidays here in South Australia, which means that at my work, it's quiet and we get to do other things. Things like clean up.

I can't remember when the last time was that I gave my desk a good, thorough cleaning, but it definitely seems to need one now Mostly, it's just a bit dusty and I have out of date paper and stuff around, but I seem to have a few dishes piling up that haven't been washed

Other than that, I'm generally fairly neat with my desk anyways. So cleaning shouldn't be too bad. Clean, lemony-fresh victory indeed will be MINE!

How about you though -- is your desk piling up with soda cans, and all messy, or is it neat? Do you tidy your desk (at home or at work) often? Are people usually grossed out by your desk, or not?

My desk has some papers on it from time to time but everything sorts itself out in the end.

I use dishes at work I have a small bowl that I use for snacks (it last had nuts and dried fruits in it), a glass, a mug, a knife and a spoon that need washing.

Hey, at least I'm not a guy here in Applications who looks like he's NEVER washed his coffeemug.... ever.... the inside of it is a thick tarry browny black.

My keyboard was evil looking at home, till in a fit of temporary insanity, I took every key off, cleaned it... cleaned under it...etc.. Now it's clean. Took a while for all the letters to work properly too though

As for what's on my desk.... good god I have a lot of crap....

Okay, INTERESTING stuff on my desk includes a Pinky: ST doll, my wireless headset, a spare mouse, and my keycard. The rest is boring work crap.

And yes, I have silverware at work. I like it. Plastic shit is useless.

I just cleaned out the drawer I've had at work for years. I never really bothered before.

I found an original, still shrink-wrapped copy of.. Windows 95.

And an imperial shitload of little clippy things but no clipping device to clip them onto things with.
