Well, Hollywood Action Flicks are real bad at misrepresenting the word "Jihad". In fact, I don't think I've seen the word "Jihad" EVER, EVER used in any kind of American TV series or movie in a way that isn't negative.

Particularly for a while after 9/11, there was a lot of REALLY horrible TV coming to Australia out of the US that more or less painted "Jihad" as something "the bad guys were going to do".

Unless you more or less go out of your way to find the definition of the word; pretty much all mainstream popular culture makes it look bad. Which sucks.

Do you know HTML?

If not, my suggestion to you is that you learn HTML. And practice it a lot till you get the effect you want.

There are lots of HTML sites on the internet that can teach you, so have a look around and find one. I know a really easy one that schools around here use -- http://www.lissaexplains.com -- but it has popups and is for "kids".

Personally, I learned from a HTML book, and over time was gradually able to work out how to do things with it.

Aww... I feel like crap too. I have tonsilitis -- at least that's what the doctor says -- it feels more like a cross between having been hit in the back of the head with a shovel and having my throat crushed by Darth Vader.

There must be a bunch of stuff going around lately, I know a lot of people that are sick now.

See the doctor... they'll give you something and recommend what you should do.

My doctor put me on antibiotics. It hasn't done much yet. And every time I lean over or bend or anything, all the blood rushes to my head... only it may as well be lead, because every time it happens my head feels heavy and I want to fall over / I fall over.

At the moment, my Laptop has a nice Anime one; my Desktop has a widescreen Digital Blasphemy one, and my work machine has a Bart Simpson one.

My old machine still has my wallpaper on it, despite it not being my machine anymore -- a tiled background generated by "Starfish".

Which is... what way... exactly?

Bleh, and it's no easier or less painful for me to breathe again today, so I'm taking the day off work. Unfortunately I miss the work Christmas Dinner though, but I really don't think I could deal with work like this.

(I tried last week, and wound up throwing up after speaking to a client... which is really kinda funny)

The Island on the other hand was typical Michael Bay bullshit. It never ceases to amaze me how Michael Bay can take an interesting concept and turn it into.... well.. you saw it, so you know..

I've been watching Samurai Deeper Kyo while I've been sick at home. I haven't watched far yet (only up to episode 8), but it seems okay so far.

I read some of the Manga (again not far) and I enjoyed that, but I think I liked the Manga better than the Anime. Was funnier...

Anybody here seen Samurai Deeper Kyo? Your thoughts on it?

I'm really fond of Digital Blasphemy. Their stuff is good, kinda relaxing...

Hey, anybody remember their first desktop backgrounds? Mine were on Windows 3.11, and they were all backgrounds Mum got from fellow computer disks on floppies. We used to have the dinosaur baby from Dinosaurs and lots of pictures of planets, and one of Bambi. All in glorious 256 colour...

I must be starting to feel better.. I can breathe more normally now, I'm no longer in pain with every breath (now only with a few). Still certainly not 100%, but getting there.

Surprised I've improved a lot over the course of today. I woke up feeling no better at all.

Somehow I doubt that fresh air would have helped with tonsilitis. I did go outside though, it messed with my hayfever

Your story sounds familiar... it's what I felt like when I was with my ex a lot. The doctors couldn't find anything wrong with me either.

Aside from various "itis"es I've gotten, and surgery this year, I haven't been like that for a while. I think some of it with me was depression and a lot of it was diet too.

Are you eating well? Lots of veggies and stuff? Drinking enough water and getting enough sleep? They tend to help a bit... I can tell now when I'm not doing the right thing with that stuff; cause I start feeling... "floaty" in a not-so-good way.
