I also tend to focus on my failings to the exclusion of the things I've done well -- if I see a flaw, it will more often than not detract from all the rest of the hard work and good things I did.

Then cause all that's in my head, it just builds up and gets worse.

It's actually quite a relief to hear what I have done right from others (as well as what (and how) I need to improve)-- because I sure as hell won't see it myself, or give myself any kudos for it.

I balanced critiquing.

Empty arse kissing doesn't do much for me either. No substance to it, so good or negative none of what's said will stick

I've been invited to mah buddy's Fancy Dress B'day party. The theme is "Goodies and Baddies", but I don't know what to go as.

A little about me (physically):

I'm about 163cm tall, and I weigh 67kg. I have short dark-blonde/light-brown hair (but more than happy to put temporary colors in or find a wig), and blue eyes. I'm pretty pale skinned too. Oh and I'm a girl (real one) for any of you who weren't previously aware.

I'm half thinking about going as a Baddie. I ran off a number of Batman villainesses last night in my head, but I'm pretty damned sure I couldn't pull off a Catwoman outfit...

Any ideas?

And uh... I can convert the weight (147.4lbs) but I'm not sure on the height... 5 foot... uh...5? 6?

I had an idea! I have short hair... I'm sure I could temporarily dye it very dark brown / black and kinda flatten it / put a bunch of gel in and wear sunnies and be Trinity from The Matrix

Only I lack a whole lot of leather and/or vinyl clothing

note that nothing above was drawn with the slightest mind for anything remotely technical at any point at all whatsoever.

I was trying something I never do. Attempting to draw for fun. I'm actually surprised that rei even looks like rei. with one leg bigger than the other, no hand, and a really big head. YAY fucked up



Yet another one with no mind to anything technical.

It's nice to just draw, and put color wherever you want and lines more or less wherever too sometimes. My obsession over constant improvement and constant technicalities is killing art for me.

Once upon a time I used to just draw something.

Now I spend three days resketching the same sketch over and over again, and 9 times out of 10 abandon it as a failure. If I don't, I ink it and then again there's a high rate of me abandoning it as a failure too. If something ever actually makes it to being coloured, I tend to hate it within 3 days due to its inperfections, and wish I'd never tried to begin with.

That's not what art's supposed to be! Therefore, you're getting random doodles with all kinds of technical problems But the colors in some are purty

I'm not happy on a never-ending quest for techincal perfection when all it's doing is killing a medium of self-expression for me (not to mention generating increasingly soulless and lifeless pieces of art.)

Indeed it is. I this babydoll tee so much that when I kill it, I shall purchase another from ThinkGeek.

Hell, I might purchase another one anyways, now I've lost 20kg I can get one in my current size
