AOL's not ALL bad. It's just MOSTLY bad.

I had to use AOL for a while. I hated it, but I didn't get a choice in the matter -- however, when I used AOL I still didn't type like an idiot to everybody and anybody. I've only ever said a/s/l as a joke. I might say "k" instead of "okay" or "ok" but come to think of it, if you actually HEAR me say the same thing in real life, it's usually just "k" too

I hate (or at least have very little tolerance or respect for) those who engineer a situation with their own hands, and then whine about the inevitable outcome.

In fact, I hate whining. There is always something you can actually DO about a situation that will be much more productive than whining will ever be; and you won't lose the respect of others nearly so much.

Yeah, I think you're about right with the speeds and times there.

Doing a bit of research I find the following CPU information:
1997 - Intel Pentium with MMX Overdrive
Processor Speed 125, 150, 166, 180, 200 MHz

1997 - Intel Pentium with MMX(P55C)
Split Rail Voltage
Processor Speed 166, 200, 233 MHz

So for a 9 year old computer, the maximum we're looking at here is around 233Mhz.

I'd like some more explanation on this mysterious 1.3Ghz system from 1997

I don't know about 98 Degrees, but we did get that stupid Newlyweds show here. Personally I just don't get the whole appeal of having such a celebrity appear at the school unless it means getting out of a whole lot of work.

You ARE getting out of a whole lot of schoolwork because of this, right?

It's only in your future if you're planning on any Help Desk work. See, in my line of work, new technologies bring clients pain... who in turn inflict it upon me.

Nah.... I might not like my job all that much lately, but I'd rather have it than nothing. I like being paid.

Wow, when they say "wisecracking pirate robot" the first thing to come into my head is Bender with a pirate hat on.

I'm not sure what to critique yet with your robot; I'd be interested in seeing what you have in mind with regards to its head and facial features. Is it gonna have a big piratey robotty moustache?

Infomercials are funny. They come on late at night here and are always good for entertainment value -- at least until they get repetetive anyways.

The Zorro thing reminds me.... for a while here a jeweller called Zamels had a whole "Zorro" thing going on.... but that was when I was a kid. Now they have the owner of the company acting like a fool instead.
