Threatening is worse in my opinion. Spam generally isn't violent or designed to hurt other people. It's annoying and a huge problem, but it's also generally benign.

Threatening isn't cool at all.

Maybe a link to How To Ask Questions the Smart Way is needed in that forum. If users fail to ask questions the Smart Way, then they won't get answers / be told off.

That might help eliminate some of the crap and maybe one day bring that forum out of the "crap" group.

Yeah, the person looks very wrong, unfortunately it then distracts from the rest of the image.

If I try to ignore that, it looks okay, although there'd be some kind of water spray or disruption to the surface where the fin protudes from the water's surface. Little bit of white water depending on speed...

Water gets darker the deeper you go so I'm not sure if you'd be able to see all the shark that clearly... if you can see that clearly then you'd be seeing more stuff in the water, like other fish, or if it's not TOO deep, the seaweed and rocks on the bottom of the ocean...

I think there is too much of a drive for unhealthy thinness nowadays. I think there needs to be a lot more of a push for HEALTHY weight, and physical fitness. Exercise! Eat lots of veggies and fresh breads and other healthy yummies! Go swimming!

There's too much obsession with being a size (whatever) and not enough with being healthy. Healthy people look a whole lot better -- for starters, if you EAT and EXERCISE there's some color in your cheeks

I would have to disagree.

The fact that this happened says to me that you did not heed previous warning or discussion about the matter and did not take your own steps to resolve the issue. That's not a problem with your layout, that's a problem with your behaviour.

I would also have to state that if a member of staff says "Now it's a matter of making one of us believe you", as Danielle has above, then there is also cause for alarm regarding your behaviour. Again, not your layout's fault.

Fire-sale advertising is soooo annoying. We have a few who do file-sale advertisements around here. A place called Designer Direct is one of the more annoying, then some furniture places... and a place called Mr Bankrupt really REALLY annoys me.

ABC's "The Chaser's War on Everything" have a segment called "Scenes from the Life of the Crazy Warehouse Guy" -- in which a guy from these kinds of advertisements goes through every day situations like asking for directions or buying McDonalds.

Fraud -- because if I hadn't met, been fooled by and fallen in love with somebody who is pretty much a con-man, I wouldn't be nearly $40,000 in debt. The worst part is that he's been thus far getting off scot-free, although now it seems that one creditor may in fact be pursuing him, and not me.

The Legal System -- seems to be inherently in favor of creditors and offers little to no assistance to people like me.

Police -- that accuse a rape victim of being the cause of the problem, not the rapist.

Bacardi -- used to love it, now it curdles the contents of my stomach and makes me painfully ill.

There's a place around here that sells beds, and they seem to have some of the dodgiest special effects on advertising television.

I suspect somebody there got a video editing suite for a birthday present, and though it would be cool to add a bunch of stupid effects. Like the screen picture going wavy, or such. Once they put animated legs on the beds and made the beds walk out the doors.

The MOST annoying things I find on TV though tend to do with the fields in which I work. I cannot stand the bad advertising for Internet Service Providers, Computer Resellers or Hosting Resellers. One ad for Hosting Resellers really DID look like somebody made it in PowerPoint, and they couldn't spell right....

See, but when you're that age it probably does matter -- it's not like you have significantly more important things to worry about outside of schoolwork.

But I don't think it's worth worrying about too much. As I tried to say in my first post, it's not worth trying to be someone you're not -- it's not worth letting the "cool kids" dictate to you (whether directly or not) how to act, dress, etc.

Part of growing up is about learning to be yourself, and about coming to terms with who you are. Develop some social skills, have fun and make friends -- but don't undertake actions that will cause you to attempt to be anyone other than yourself.
