I apologise in advance as most think I'm insulting their intelligence when I post this link, but try Lissa Explains it All: HTML Help for Kids. Very straightforward site when it comes to HTML. | Well, the text fits in the box now, instead of floating off in the middle of nowhere, so that's good.
I reckon you could do your layout in CSS and regain some of the charm of your yellow border, but I'm not 100% sure on the rounded edges. There's a little cheat for that about which I'll need to investigate for my own purposes. |

Of course, it's probably hard for us to tell considering he's not actively involved. And I want to brag about the fact that I bought pants that are a size smaller than my old ones and they fit good  I also cut 5 inches off my belt with my office scissors (probably ruining my office scissors in the process). |

| I agree -- this isn't something to PM a Staff Member about.
The issue with layouts -- and assisting with it -- is complex and not every Staff Member necessarily has that expertise to assist you. Throwing it open to the forum is much better. |

| Well, the thing is, nothing you say or do for a person who is abusing drugs is going to stop them.
They have to want to stop. They actually have to do the hard work to stop. They have to make the decision in the first place. You can want them to stop all you want, but the fact is that's not going to help at all. You can't actually MAKE them. You can't beat yourself up at all over something you have absolutely zero control over either. So, you just have to be there to help out when things go bad. Maybe eventually your Mum will realise that her actions are hurting you and it might help her change. |

I've made lots of things.

Two wooden pencil boxes. A soft plush little piggy I made in school. An electrical tester with a light on it. Lots of webpage designs. Lots of pieces of artwork both in traditional and digital media... a little mouse out of colored paper that my Mother still keeps.... a dragon out of clay..... lots of stuff. I remember one of my fun things I did when I was a kid, was I broke a wooden ruler once. So, I went out to the shed and sanded it smooth, then cut it up and glued it together to make a little house. Then I drew little bricks and little tiles on it. It was just one of those spontaneous things. I thought it was cute so I took it to show a friend at school, and a popular girl liked it so she stole it. (restricted) |

I think over the weekend I might.... maybe... try to shade this. I'm thinking mostly bluegrey shades. Not that I'm planning on shading it monochrome, but most of the other colors will be... desaturated, I guess.

I'm thinking I'll put me in the corner a bit more cause I used to sulk in corners as a kid. Now I just sulk and pretend like I'm not. I'm thinking first I need to correct some lines I did strange things with.
And yes, some things in life ARE sucky, but recently I feel like the suck far outweighs anything good. It's been a long time since anything really GOOD happened to me, and something I thought might be good last year turned out to be a tease that I can't get over.

There's nothing wrong with caring. I care about my little brother who smokes crystal meth. I care about him and I worry about him, but I know that there's probably little I can do to actually stop him, and that his idea of "help" and my idea of it are completely different things.

You might have more sway as a son than I do as a sister, I don't know -- but she still needs to actually notice that her problem is causing you problems for that sway to have much impact, I'd guess. Otherwise it comes down to that your role isn't that of stopping her from doing this -- because you can never stop another person from doing something that they want to do. Doesn't matter if theyr'e your mother, your brother, your lover whatever, if they want to do something, you can't stop them. It is their choice. However, if your Mum makes a different choice that's when you WILL be able to help out -- that's when you stand by her and help her get through what will be a difficult time.

But yeah, me and happy are not apparently compatible right now. It's not my fault, I'd like to be happy, I'm just having a shit time again. I suspected this year might have its hardships but that doesn't make them any easier when they rear their ugly head. I am quite disappointed that when I'm feeling down some of my friends have mysteriously vanished on me too. Very helpful of them.  I am convinced one of them is deliberately avoiding me because I am depressed, and while I understand his reasoning behind doing so if this is the case, I still think it sucks donkey's balls.
Coloring the picture and going to IKEA on the weekend should prove to be nice distractions. Incidentally if anyone's wondering about coloring (desaturated greyblue aside) I was wearing a brown shirt and dark blue jeans when I drew this (and that's what I'm wearing in the picture), old brown Colorado shoes that are on their last legs (but live on forever in anime form!) and my hair is a crappy dark blonde/light brown. I might get streaks. I intend to have those colors in the final to some extent, but it will mostly be washed out. I don't think I can pull it off, but I'd like to achieve a little bit of the kind of effect that Serial Experiments Lain concept art manages with regards to muted colors. I don't know if I can or not though. We'll see. Whatever happens, happens.
