Yeah, sometimes stuff like this happens, and yeah, it doesn't matter if you're 15 or 25.

The thing to do is to concentrate on what else is going on in your life. There ARE other things going on in your life that are good and worth your time and attention, it's just at the moment you might be having trouble remembering what they are.

So, have a look around you. What's going on? Anything happening with your friends at the moment? Going out anywhere? Work to do, etc? Games you haven't had the time to play, books to read, etc? Get out there and do it!

It's one thing to say "get over it", but really there's no easy way to just "get over" something. In the meantime, just keep yourself busy, keep yourself social and give yourself lots of fun stuff to do. In time you'll feel better.

My nanna on my dad's side of the family, I think. I'm pretty sure she's older than my nanna on my Mum's side. They're both in their 70's, but I'm pretty sure that Nanna on Dad's side is older.

I would have to ask Mum to be sure. I think Mum has some "aunties" that aren't really related that are older.

Hmmm... my suggestion wasn't so much about "filling a gap", it's about....

Generally nothing can actually really fill a gap left behind by a person who has made a significant impact upon your life. They will always be there in your heart. Everybody who touches your life in a profound way will leave such a mark on your heart. Usually such things wind up being a good thing... although it may not feel so at a time like right now.

Keeping yourself busy while you're still hurting is a way of coping. It's okay to hurt, but if you're always caught up in those feelings you can get overwhelmed by them. If you're doing other things, you have opportunities to take your mind off of it, to give yourself some rest from the sadness. Not to mention it means that you will stay on top of anything you need to as well, like schoolwork or other life commitments.

If you focus always on what's upsetting you, it can take control, and you can get overwhelmed by it. If you're able to remember -- even in difficult times -- to have balance in your life, chances are things will be easier for you to deal with, whether its relationship things, financial stuff, or whatever Life has decided to throw at you.

And make sure you have friends around to give you a pep talk when you're feeling really crappy

Well, oil prices are pretty high here in Australia too. I'm lucky -- I guess -- in that my car is not registered and that I don't drive it, but I understand how such things are making things difficult for most families and such around here.

On some level, I dont' really mind petrol prices being so expensive -- I'd rather see a bigger push for renewable / alternate energy sources to be made available.

On the other hand, I really do sympathise with those who are currently in difficult financial situations thanks to the current pricing. It's not like most families get a choice regarding what powers their vehicles.

I hope that all of this leads to a solution that is not based on a fossil fuel like we currently rely on AND creates a better solution for the average person/family who doesn't have money to burn on simple things like getting the kids to school, going to work, and doing the shopping...

However, I don't see this outcome as being likely any time in the near future.

In the wacky magical world that is my imagination on the bus ride home from work, sure, I'm getting straight A's.

Not sure what I'm getting A's in. I'm going to say I'm getting them in drinking and cooking weird shit.

Ah, it's a good thing the real world doesn't have these grade things. I think I'm failing "waking up on time", "not being cranky at work", "being able to afford a coffee" and "home finances 101". Although to be fair... on that last one... my ex boyfriend sabotaged my test results.

I am apparently going to see it with my Nanna and step-Grandpa, and my Mother and step-father. I was informed tonight, at dinner.

Otherwise I didn't have that much interest. The book is always superior to the movie anyways.

I did REALLY good on a pop-quiz on the that one on Monday though! Oh god that Triple-shot mocha latte was awesome..... *Homer Simpson style drooling*

I think I found the necessary fundage to make sure I'm caffeine-powered for tomorrow too Now I just have to remember to go to bed on time so as not to completely negate all positive effects...

You know what... oddly, the keyboard on my laptop -- which causes my wrists to angle in on the same angle that upsets them on a regular keyboard -- does not worry me.

I'm not sure what it is about regular keyboards that do that to me, but I really cannot use them for any extended period of time. Although with physiotherapy it has become better than it once was.

And meh... the keyboard on my computer came good despite me spilling water on it, and despite me not unplugging it and letting it dry as I know I should. It seems that my subconscious attempt to murder the keyboard failed.

It also means I can't justify spending any money on a new keyboard, so I'll stick with the damned thing some longer. I just wish that the sound of me (or anyone) typing did NOT have to be so loud it echoes throughout my entire flat. One day I would like to have a housemate here to assist with the financial situation of renting, and I don't want to be disturbing said housemate with all the clickety clickety noises made by typing.

I don't like to make lists like this because I leave out people and then those people get offended. I can barely remember to get myself to work on time each day, let alone more complex things like long lists of people

I would like to imagine that most people would know if I like them or not anyways, and I would also like to imagine that I get along with most people here also. Whether this is pure ego on my part or not.. meh... *shrugs*

Different people feel differently about "love" for their own reasons. I wouldn't consider it "sad" or question where their "heart ran off to". Chances are, people have a reason for their feelings on the matter, usually colored by their past experiences (or lack thereof)

There's a game ? Eww...

From the book.... I really don't get... why.... other than as a movie tie-in. To which I repeat: eww.

Personally I think that custom titles are over-rated anyways, but then I can never think what to put as mine anyways. I think the last time I had a good one was.... two... three.. years ago

Course, I probably cared more back then too.
