Apparently a device has been developed that emits a high frequency buzzing noise to drive away teenagers. I guess this is to stop teens hanging around when they're not wanted or something.

Article:
"What's the buzz? Teens can't stand it

Personally, I think this kinda sucks. I think it's very rude and discriminatory to subject teenagers to this -- it seems like the equivalent to those devices you use to get rid of insects or something.

According to the article, it could also scare away legitimate customers and stuff not in their teens too.

What do you think?

My problem with it is that:

There's no guarantee it will only drive away teenagers
AND
It will affect ALL teenagers and children, regardless of whether they're troublemakers or not.

And I think it's fairly discriminiatory to come up with a blanket solution that will affect most people under thirty... regardless of whether those people are causing the original problem in the first place or not.

There won't be any difference from the Release Candidate.

They won't introduce any changes between 1.5RC and 1.5 -- because doing so might create bugs that they didn't forsee.

1.5 and 1.5RC are identical.

I'll save you the time -- it's more of the same but with bug fixes and rearrangable tabs. Which means I like it, and you probably will not.

Also, please refrain from saying that it "sucks". Just because it's not your cup of tea doesn't mean that the browser "sucks", it just means that you don't like it.

Well, that's something that I always find a problem with the releases -- extensions. It doesn't tend to pay to be an early adopter as far as extensions go... the community catches up fairly quickly though.

Zem, could you please refrain from trolling? You're not adding anything remotely interesting (or funny) to this thread. At least max and xkeeper have both stated actual complaints against lololol. Although xkeeper's story is a bit weird -- I've heard of it losing favorites, but not..... all of that (Was this a release version of lololol, or one of the technology previews? )

The Mac version is pretty good incidentally. The Mac version in the past has had its share of weirdness.... it's good to see improvement

Hmm... I guess it depends why it's rattly...

do you know if it's a sleeve bearing or ball bearing fan? Sleeve bearing fans are cheaper, but the slightest wear will cause them to wobble... which might also make a rattle noise... and it's just inefficient.

ballbearing fans are generally more reliable and quieter. But even ballbearing fans can be rattly.

I don't necessarily know if your fan can be fixed or not, but if it can't, you can replace it and I recommend you look at ballbearing fans to do so. If it's still too noisy, there are insulation kits that will eliminate noise.

I've been accused of leaning on alcohol when I'm stressed, I'll admit. Thing is, I wouldn't do it if I were by myself -- but if I'm stressed and my friends/housemates are home, I might have a drink or two. It IS good for settling your nerves.

I think if I ever catch myself drinking alone, that will be pretty scary for me.

I don't mind the new style either. But then, it really doesn't impact me all that much. I don't often use the menus, for starters.

As for extensions... all but one of mine is currently broken. Oh well. Greasemonkey shouldn't take too long to be updated. I can't remember what "Objection" is, but I do miss "Tab Mix".

When sleeping WITH somebody that snores, I used to.... well, hit him. I'd roll over and give him a good hard elbow.

If you can do it just right, they don't wake up, and they roll over and stop snoring.

With somebody snoring in the other room... do they usually snore, or is it just something recent? I guess you might need to talk to them about it... :-/

Well, I remember that I used to watch Voltron, Kimba the White Lion, Astro Boy, Speed Racer and The Yearling when I was little. I think I may have watched some Robotech also.

When I got a bit older, I also remember Sailor Moon.

My first anime I watched as an adult though was Neon Genesis Evangelion, and this marked the beginning of my anime obsession

Piano.

And one day, if I ever get the time and such, I should take lessons again. I barely remember what to do from when I was a kid.

I can't take asprin anyways, it screws with my asthma.

If I suspect I'm going to be hungover - the night before I will make sure to have a couple of glasses of water before bed (make sure to take a little time drinking them) and a multi-vitamin.

In the morning I have vegemite on toast, and lots more water. And if I have a headache, paracetamol (US brand name: tylenol) seems to help a bit.

My housemate keeps accusing me of being an alcoholic.

I've given up and just started to admit it.

Him "You're an alcoholic..."
Me: "And..?"
Him: "..."

(Note: I am not REALLY an alcoholic.)

I've had lots of jobs.

I was a person that went door-to-door, doorknocking for charity
I was a checkout chick
I was a data entry analyst
I was a receptionist
I was a network administrator
I was a finance officer
I was a network administrator again
I was a personal assistant
I was a network administrator again
I was a freelance web developer
I was a director of an internet service provider...

Now I'm a customer support analyst (help desk). I help people with computer problems over the telephone.

Older versions of Mac OS X might be available on the internet, I guess... somewhere like ebay. Apple themselves don't appear to sell old copies of even Panther now, it's all Tiger... so you'd have to look at alternate sales points (as already mentioned, ebay) to obtain a copy.

Although considering that OS X generally comes with a machine; it might be difficult to find OS X 10.2 as a standalone?

My dad also would wake himself up with his snoring. Which was funny, he'd still deny that he snored at all...

I snore -- usually when I've been drinking, or if I have a cold / hayfever.
