Anime fanboys and fangirls scare me MUCH MUCH more than people who don't know what anime is, or think it's all Sailor Moon.

I get a little concerned that some of them don't have much sense of reality. Scary scary scary!

I tend to get along with fairly middle of the road anime fans. Ones that can enjoy their fandom without getting all crazy

Sound is onboard too. Seems to be fine AFAIK, no errors at least seem to be caused by the use of sound (as opposed to relatively consistent problems when transferring files).

Other devices include a TV tuner which is not the problem. Problems existed prior to its installation and have not been either improved or worstened by the installation of the TV tuner card. TV reception however has become a LOT better, owing to the fact that I now get TV.

Monitor is also fine.

It was interesting.
Do you mean see more shades, or more easily differentiate between different shades? I assume you mean the latter even though you said the former. It's a small almost semantic difference but the latter sounds very plausable while a very literal interpretation of the former would mean quite a bit of accepted biology was wrong.

Well, us girls certainly seem to use more names for colors

I've yet to hear a bloke debate the difference between mauve, lavender and lilac. Most blokes call it "purple"

If you're running a VIA chipset, try searching for "george breese pci latency" on Google. The patch is rather old, though, and might not work on newer chipsets.

Chipset is VIA, KT6V. Searched for that on that site and couldn't find it.

This sounds similar to the problem:
The computer stops when copying to or from an IDE DVD, CDROM, or CDRW drive

However it's hard drives and they are SATA.

Do you know if there is a way to uninstall this patch if I try it and it fails or causes problems?

EDIT: I have now flashed the BIOS and also updated some more drivers. See how things go....

Was joke. See overuse of winking smiley faces ( ) Observational humor

That said, I do distinctly remember my Nanna and my Mother having a heated discussion about whether something was "mauve" or "lavender" before Grandpa came along and told us all it was "purple"

Honestly? I've never heard of "Airlink" before. But I tend to avoid companies whose products and reputations I am not familiar with.

If I were you, I'd check hardware review sites for the product and see what you can find. Some support forums might also be able to give you advice (search for previous threads on Airlink products and read what other users have said about them).

Personally, I don't know Airlink, so I probably wouldn't use them, but then I would always rather spend the extra money on a product that I know will last me. I recommend Linksys.

Off the topic of actual Hardware or Software, I was just wondering what some people think of various persons in the ICT Industry, and if there are any that you admire or really dislike.

I admire both the Steves of Apple Computer. Both Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak appeal to me, for very different reasons though. I very much admire Steve Jobs' attention to detail, and his very well done presentations and Keynotes (compare a Steve Jobs Keynote to a Microsoft presentation sometime - the difference in presentation is astounding). Steve Wozniak is just cool.

I also admire Linus Torvalds, the inventor of Linux

Contrary to my apparent Apple and Linux zealotry however, I don't dislike Bill Gates. I dislike that Ballmer guy MUCH MUCH more.

You?

Posted on 02-23-06 08:31 PM, in Smoking- Your thoughts. Link
I smoked in high school. Not very much, but I did, mostly as an experimental thing. I didn't like it all that much, it hurt/irritates/tickles my throat and made me cough, but the nicotine high was "fun" for a while so I persisted with it for a short time. I don't think I smoked longer than 6 months and very occasional.

However, this little bit of smoking rubbed off on me, and now I'm a "social" smoker. Meaning that if I get drunk... really drunk.. suddenly I want a cigarette. Or five. It's a really bad, drunken habit.

As for smoking, I really don't mind other people smoking but I actually prefer it if you don't do it around me. It still makes me cough, second hand smoke can sometimes make my breathing really uncomfortable.

My mother is a real busybody when it comes to other people's smoking. She tells smokers off and everything (whether she knows them or not!)

Her shock is rather hilarious the few times I've gotten drunk in front of her and smoked. Her partner smokes too when he's drunk and when we both do it she goes purple and tells us we're both hopeless!

Well, I haven't had a crash in some time.

I have discovered a fairly obscure little problem with the KT6V and the Barton Core CPU's, which I have both of. BIOS update hopefully resolved said obscure issue....

Come to think of it, I don't think I had any system stability problems until the day I installed the Athlon XP 3000+ (Barton Core) and the video card. I'd just been leaning toward the videocard being the problem.

Ah, but I HAVE been taking a break from drawing. The stuff I have been drawing is either doodles or... well.. somewhat NSFW.

Blame Kawa.

Total time drawing maybe 1/2 hour, so I'd class this as a doodle. Didn't draw the guy's doodle though...

Oh, and don't click on the link at work, or at school, or with parents or such behind you or whatnot. You have been warned.
