| Well, I strongly dislike the buses here too, but at least they sound a bit better than your system.
Adelaide's transit system is just weird. Some areas, the buses are really good. Some areas, not so much. Some areas you can more or less have your pick of lots of buses and get where you're going easily. My current area is not one of those areas. I live on a major road now; so I should theoretically have access to decent public transport. However, it appears that any time between 8.05 am and 5.00pm, there are NO (yes, NO) buses at all. Which is just strange on one of the City's major roads. Weird weird bus system. |

| See, what mystifies me about the buses here is that in some areas, they are excellent. Public Transport if you live in some suburbs is superb, you can get places quickly, with minimal hassle, on a clean new-ish bus in good repair.
And then there are areas that are just complete NOTHING as far as Public Transport. And what makes it mystifying is that it's not the suburbs you'd think that have good public transport or bad public transport. It's just some random crapshoot it seems. I don't get how the transport dept works. |

| I dunno. I'd be inclined to report this (or at least enquire to) to the police. There is a possibility the machine was stolen or something. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I use the pill, even though I 'aint gettin' any lately. I'm on it for two reasons. The first obviously is birth control if I get lucky.
The second's related to my surgery, because if I'm not on the pill I get sharp stabbing pains where my ovary used to be around the time of my period (as bad as they were prior to the surgery). The gynecologist says to skip a period and I need to be on the pill for that. The pains are much less of a problem then. |

Originally posted by ||bass See, for me driving my car is more inconvenient (and costly). I don't mind other passengers that much. They stay out of my way, I stay out of theirs. It costs me $2.29 to get to work, and another $2.29 to get home each day. I get dropped off in Victoria Square which is only a few hundred metres away from work, and I walk. If I drive however, it would probably cost me less in petrol, however it costs $8.50 to park ($9.50 on Thursdays and Fridays) in the City. That's assuming that I am lucky enough to get a park in the well priced car park... sometimes you can't get a park anywhere but the one that costs you $22.-- to park in for the day. So, the bus or train is MUCH more convenient. Course if I worked somewhere outside of the CBD, my car would be better and parking would be cheaper (or free) ![]()

Waxing tends to make hair grow back finer. I'd speculate because it probably hurts the hair follicle somewhat. I know it hurts ME somewhat. |

Cause there isn't one for the Acmlmboard, I tried to make one to suit the same size.
|
I don't like my first attempt, but here it is: My second attempt I like much better. It's cuter and curvier and I like it a lot
And in two shades of red instead of pink: Not much, but I may keep working on little hearts till I get one I'm satisfied with. I'm trying to get them to add a heart smiley to the FFVII Citadel ![]() (edited by Tarale on 02-10-06 01:46 AM)

? Well, that'd be my choice for a heart emoticon trigger.
And I like both the bright red and pink ones. I really don't like my first one much. I can't really think how to improve on my little hearts much more so I think I may leave them at that. And this one Animated one... (edited by Tarale on 02-10-06 06:53 AM)

Painter is VERY complex, and its tools are VERY different to that of Photoshop.
|
There are tools for dry brushes, wet brushes, sponges, big brushes, fanned brushes, pallette knives, watercolors, crayons, markers, oil paints, pastels, airbrushes, charcoal, chalk, colored pencils, etc, etc, etc. Each of these tools behave differently. All of these tools respond to both the tilt and pressure sensitivity (so ideally works best with an Intuos or higher tablet, but would be fine with a Graphire). There are settings for different types of paper, etc. The program is very complex and takes into account lots of different painting and drawing tools. The interface has similarities to Photoshop, but is pretty much it's own thing too. Thankfully the tools are so unique and intriguing you wind up playing with the application and learning. Just as an aside, if you do get a tablet, other programs for CG work (Windows based this time) that I like are openCanvas and Alias Sketchbook Pro. I'm not sure but Alias might have a Mac version, openCanvas is strictly Windows. Both are designed for tablets I find openCanvas to be very easy (despite some Engrish), and Alias Sketchbook Pro has a very simple interface. ![]()

Well, we use kilometres here.
|
The fastest speed limit they have here is 110 on rural roads. I drove 160kmph to a friend's place. I tried to do a conversion, but I don't know if this is right... 100mph.

Yep, Painter has support for all of that.
|
So does Alias Sketchbook and openCanvas.

Yeah, there's something along the lines of "Nero Video" or something. I forget the name of it. Nero Vision? Meh, look it up on Nero's site. |

Australian food culture is pretty boring; but we do have a very multicultural mix of stuff available; just not all that much stuff that I think is real exciting as far as "Australian" food and food culture goes.
|
The Greek and Italian families I know are all very passionate about their food and go out of their way to get great fresh produce and interesting things. They pay special attention to things like seasonality and such too which I'd say most really don't. Aside from that, the only other people I know who really get into food culture around here are "foodies". Like me. Everyone else seems happy with some fairly boring uninspired cuisine. I like the foodies though. They're fun. And they always have such yummy things. Mmm hedonism is sooooo tasty.
Well, here's a recipe (of sorts, I have no exact amounts to really give you here) for Garlic Prawns. You need Garlic, Prawns (about 10 of them, peeled and de-veined), a little bit of chopped spring onion, butter, olive oil, cream and rice. I add brocolli chopped into little bits for vegetable content but this is optional. Cook the rice so it's all fluffy. This can be happening while you do the rest but the rest is fairly quick to cook so you need to start it first. Get a dash of olive oil and put it into a frypan. Add a fair bit of garlic, a couple of cloves smashed and chopped is good. Let that kinda sizzle for about ten seconds and add your prawns and cook them through. Then add a fair bit of butter... about the size of your thumb is plenty, and let that melt. Add about half a cup of fresh thickened cream and then the brocolli and spring onion. Turn the heat down and cook it till the sauce has thickened and the brocolli has softened. Don't cook it on too high a temperature or it kinda goes weird and oily. Then serve it on the rice. It's good, although hardly the healthiest meal for you. ![]()

It's 3.36pm on Valentines Day here... and I'm still pondering telling this guy I like that I like him.
|
I think I'm going to wuss out again. I'm too scared of the reaction and I don't want to put him in an awkward position... | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
