| Is there a point to this thread besides flamebait, TotenKopf?
Personally, I find the Wii to be quite fun. It offers gameplay that is not currently available on any other system, and gets a lot of people who would ordinarily not play games to join in. The controller is quite effective -- previous similar things I've seen have been much buggier. And yes, not everyone will find it comfortable. There is probably not a controller in existence that everyone will find comfortable. I find it fine for most things, but it depends upon the motions performed a little too. The games I've played so far have been good fun, and because Wii Sports is based on familiar motions, easy for people to pick up. This means everyone can (theoretically) play. Just because these kinds of things don't appeal to you doesn't mean they don't appeal to other people. The Wii sells because it has features and gameplay that appeal to other people. For them, the mix of the games and control system work. Perhaps the Eye Toy does not appeal to these same people because the games do not appeal to them or are no longer available? Who knows? Who are you though to argue and say that they are wrong? |

I've had periods where I've had trouble with people in a general sense. I am capable of not talking to anyone for a long period of time, because I'm simply not able to adequately relate to anyone, nor am I willing to try.

However, I also associate these periods with fairly significant Depression. Both caused by the isolation and causing further isolation. It may just be a period in your life that will pass.

Feeling ill but not knowing the diagnosis yet is bad. I dislike being sick but not knowing the cause, it makes me edgy and irritable.

Currently I have either a recurring Tonsilitis, or I have Infectious Mononucleosis. I have a bit of a very mild fever, swollen lymph nodes, some dizziness/floaty sensation, sore throat and fatigue. These symptoms can occur with either Tonsilitis or Mono. Mono usually lasts longer though. The only way I will know for sure which I have is if they detect a current infection of the Epstein-Barr Virus in a blood sample they have taken from me yesterday. I won't find out till Monday. I hate not knowing.

It's usually why they say to encourage people suffering from Clinical Depression to go out with friends and such.

Well, I know from personal experience that Depression is not a good thing. And by Depression, I'm not referring to a simple feeling of being a bit down -- I'm referring to a mental illness.

Everyone feels a bit down from time to time, but if it lasts a really long time, and you feel pretty much nothing *but* feeling down, then you might have Depression. Depression can make you feel like you're unable to feel emotion (or emotion besides sadness), and make you lose pleasure in activities you would otherwise enjoy. It can also cause changes in your eating and sleeping. It often makes it hard to concentrate, and makes people feel fatigued. Untreated Depression can lead to feelings of "going mad", cause people to cry frequently, and simply wish to "lay down and die" or become suicidal. Having Depression can increase your risk of illness due to not taking care of yourself, and problems like Heart Disease. It's also thought that Depression alters the physiology of the brain, causing problems with - amongst other things - memory and concentration on a long term basis.

Seeing as there are some people who are very violently anti - any company that implements DRM, I thought I would share with you guys a recent article written by Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple Computers.

Steve Jobs: Thoughts on Music I found it to be an interesting read, but it raises a bit of a question for me at the end -- HOW do we as consumers persuade the Music Industry to allow non-DRM files to be sold on music stores such as the iTMS? Surely that would work out better for everyone?

I suffer from Atypical Depression (actually the most common type of Depression despite its name). I am moderately ok at the moment, but when I am feeling bad I can overeat (particularly chocolate and bread or pasta), I can sleep upward of 15 hours a day, and I pretty much avoid everyone at these times. And no, it's not necessarily a very "focused" thing. I would describe it more like being under a heavy fog that just doesn't go away. It's quite a vague feeling really I found... and some days were better than others. Course, if you are Depressed, I'm not saying you need to go get yourself on medication or anything for it. But I'm still guessing given that this thread exists at all that you're not entirely thrilled with the way things are, so you might want to do something.

So far I've been giving SamuraiX the benefit of the doubt, and have been very patient with him/her, but if this nonsense continues I will close this thread. Officer's Club is a forum where people come to seek help, or to try to offer help to others. I doubt this is helping anyone. SamuraiX -- If you wish to engage in philosophical debate about what "normal" is and if there is a purpose to life, please start one in the debate forum. If you actually have a problem and wish to seek advice for it, then make an effort. I have made an effort to try to help you based on some of the sentiments you have exp If you just want to argue, I'm sure there are better forums than Officer's Club.

I would suggest that you have to see a doctor about that. I doubt anybody here is trained to either diagnose or treat your malaise. Nor is anybody here qualified to prescribe any medicine that may be more effective than advil, or such.

There are many many reasons why somebody can feel tired, both physical or mental. Examples include: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Leukemia, Renal Failure, Depression, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Infectious Mononucleosis, Influenza, etc, etc See your General Practitioner.
