I gotta say, if she felt no remorse, she either felt justified in her actions (twisted or otherwise), isn't that kind of person or uh.... well, I dunno. Slow to learn? Inconsiderate?

In any of those cases, is she the kind of girl you want?

I guess at least it's better to look on the bright side -- and be happy that you've learned this now than later.

Yep.

It sucks. I don't have any real advice for you, I'm afraid, other than that I've been in your shoes and come out so far ok.

All you can do is take things as they happen. Be thankful for what you do have. Be thankful for those that are there for you. And redefine your life around other things, I suppose.

I'm never going to get anywhere financially in my life. Does that really matter worth a shit?

I'm at work, so my critique here is going to be extremely limited:

Try to use less airbrush. It looks a bit "plastic" in a few spots because it's *too* smooth.

I found my best bet in photoshop was to use a brush tool on a low opacity and "paint" in stuff, a little like shading with a pencil. This also allows more detail

If you can get your hands on Painter, I recommend playing around with the "Captured Bristle" paint tool. At least, this was one of my favourites for painting with, because it has a fun texture with it.

Geez. Yes, I am going to pull the "chemical imbalance" card on you -- it sounds like you are suffering something along the lines of Depression. And I'm also going to pull another card, one to do with your thought patterns

You say your life "really does" suck, but you don't seem to tell us exactly why, instead you seem to have go off on a series of cognitive distortions. Generalizations, All-or-none thinking, personalization, magnification...

You say you maintain logical and coherent thought, but your thoughts seem pretty warped to me.

Life sucks. Yeah. Lots of people's lives suck. The thing is how we deal with it. You need to learn to deal with it better. You need to learn not to generalize, and get into all this all-or-none thinking.

See a cognitive-behavioral psychologist. They'll teach you how to fix the thoughts.
See a doctor. They might give you some medication to help you while you learn to fix those thoughts.
Get some exercise.

And stop putting yourself the hell down.

I'm pretty sure mine would look funky in IE too, owing to the odd way that IE seems to make my .png images darker.

They are fine in any other browser, but in IE they go weird. At least, that's what I'm seeing on my work computer here.

IE is special.

Given I cannot access my own site from work anymore, it's unlikely it will have any update.

I don't really care that much anyway, it's just a Christmas layout. Once this ridiculous season is over, it will be back to business as usual

Although I might have to come up with an idea for a new layout at some point too. Meh.
