I generally sleep between the hours of 12am (GMT +09.30) and 7.30am (GMT +09.30) which is probably insufficient, particularly as my sleep is disrupted. At the moment my sleep is disrupted by the heat and heat-induced eczema.

I should go to bed earlier. But I don't.

And dammit, my eczema is playing up really badly after this weather.

I've fucking had enough.

I've had enough of how every single time some guy posts on here about a bad relationship experience, several other male participants of the forum join in with sexist comments like the above.

Just because you've had a bad relationship experience, is that reason to hate the the entire female population, to paint them all with the same brush?

And the cunt comment -- that's real classy. How's somebody supposed to feel about an insult like that -- one that insults who a person is, something a person can't (easily) change? We don't get to choose prior to birth what gender we will be you know.

Put the blame where it belongs -- on the individual that did you wrong -- not on all women.

I am sick of the sexist crap that goes on in this forum.

I has a moogle.

My moogle's different to your moogle. I think mine might be a FFX (Lulu) moogle...

My moogle has a crazy chick attached to it.

If there is a "no coffee" option, that data can be safely ignored. If there is no such option, you have people voting other for "none," as at least two people have done here as evidenced by their own admission... And then the report gives skewed data.

Okay, but I'd expect about as much accuracy here anyway as with a Slashdot poll

Certainly wouldn't rely on it for anything. At all.

AOL speak to me isn't about somebody's ability to spell -- it's a time / laziness thing. And sure, it might be appropriate in some contexts. I don't think the forum is one of those though.

I'm pretty sure people are still taught in school how to spell and write properly, well enough to communicate on a web forum.

Posted on 12-03-06 07:29 PM, in I will not tolerate sexist crap in this forum. Link
I'm going to temporarily make this a sticky thread, because I don't want to see this happen again in this forum (nor do I wish to be confronted with any further messages from people trying to tell me why it's "okay" to call women cunts).

SEXISM IS NOT TOLERATED IN THIS FORUM ON THIS BOARD

If you are a Mysogynist or Misandrist, keep it to yourself. If you cannot offer actual advice to posters in this forum, and you simply wish to bash the opposite gender instead, then shut the hell up.

I do not care WHY you think your views are justified either -- there is no justification. If your experiences with the opposite gender have been bad ones, this is not the fault of the entire gender.

Thankyou.

I'm going to leave this fairly short to try to avoid derailing the thread.

Thankyou for your apology. I am still a bit upset with you (given some of the arguments used in your discussion with me earlier) but I am not going to pursue this any further at this time. I hope that I will not see any more of the comments seen earlier in this thread.

If anybody wishes to discuss the issues surrounding sexism, please do so in a different thread.

The reason I said what I said, btw, was the "Starving yourself" and "no reason" comment. I don't think the words "starving yourself" should be used at all with regards to diet, that's all. Wasn't trying to put words in your mouth, just see lots of problems with the "starving yourself" thing, and don't want people to get funny ideas based on the idea of starving oneself.

There are bunches of healthy *filling* things you can eat too anyway. No need for anyone to "starve" at all.

Just thought I'd address that seeing as how I only just noticed it and wasn't trying to have a go, just clear up any confusion surrounding the word "starve".

Point well taken, and I over-reacted anyway. Wasn't trying to come off like a prick.

Ah, it's okay. Especially as I don't think I even noticed it till today

Oh, and I found a really good thing that everyone who wants to lose weight should do -- particularly if running or walking is rough on your knees. Go swimming! It's awesome!

But yes, the whole obesity stuff's come up in the news here (again) recently, with the government being called upon to do something. John Howard has called upon parents to teach their kids self-control, discipline and willpower, but I do wonder if its that "simple" for a lot of people.

For some people it's not an easy change.

When you go to the supermarket, there are lots if inexpensive, easy or quick things that aren't real good for you. If you can't cook, or you're busy, or you've not got much money, it's easy to pick up a jar or a packet of something. "Just add rice!" or "Just add chicken!" It's fast, it's easy, you don't need to know how to cook.

It's also complete crap, and full of fat and salt and sugar and god-knows what.

And a lot of people are so busy they don't have time to really cook Some people don't know how to cook a good, healthy meal either.

Course, I'm not saying that some of these kinds of things shouldn't exist... but I think people rely on them too much and I wonder how much it contributes

I like hot chocolate! It's what I'd be more likely to have of an evening when I can't tolerate coffee at all. It's what I'll likely have at our Christmas Dinner later this week with work, during the "Coffee" part of the dinner.

I also Milo.
