I'm already very tanned, and only going to get more tanned. But I never go to tanning places -- tanning is part of being a Surf Lifesaver. All that time on the beach, ensuring the place is safe for swimmers and whatnot.... and you get a tan.

At least once you have a tan you don't get burned easily. I kinda like my tan (provided I don't go too dark). It beats the hell out of peeling sunburn skin

When winter comes around, I alternate back to my glow-in-the-dark geek state of super white. Nobody goes to the beach in summer for swimming so there's no need for Surf Lifesavers to be out there.

I dunno anyone who goes "orange" though, just brown. And I find that attractive. Although there was that one guy who tanned so much he went really really dark, and that was just... icky....

Hm... I haven't been up for very long today.

I guess having woken up early enough to have a proper healthy breakfast made me happy.

What hasn't made me happy is a certain internal subweb being down... sigh.

Ah, good ole Goggle.

I blocked it back a few years ago when I was working in a school, because students would often go there (accidentally or on purpose, I was never sure). Blocking that and a few ad sites stopped a lot of spyware and other nasties.

A tendency towards overacting, melodramatic "anger" when annoyed. Just imagine I'm trying to channel the character Zim and you'd about have it -- generally people think I've really flipped though.

I like to play with scissors underneath my fingernails, or on top of. I like to clean under the nail, and push around the cuticle.

Excessive itching, but this is a bit of an eczema thing too.

Check their user profiles. The short answer is that "everyone" is from all over the world.

I am from Australia. I know not of this "Thanksgiving".

God dammit Xkeeper, I hate that Game Over picture! It creeps me out! And now its followed me to work!

As for Rom Maniac and the assertion that "a drug is a drug" / all drugs are the same, this strikes me as a bit off. Fallacy of the General Rule or Reductive Fallacy perhaps? It seems to both over-simplify and also to state that something true of one must be true in all instances...

Personally I see lots of differences when it comes to "drugs" or "medication". I stated earlier in this thread that I choose to smoke marijuana for chronic pain rather than be prescribed a narcotic painkiller -- this is because I see big differences between these two drugs, particularly with their addictiveness.

I'm pretty sure the field of medical science sees a lot of difference in different drugs also. Ask your doctor.

I believe it is you who misunderstood my first quote. You made it sound like people who DO down bottles of tylenol at a time do not exist. That is wrong to assume. 200,000,000 million americans and you can't tell me that at least one is suicidal enough, or ignorant enough, to down enough to kill ones self?

The second quote there I misread at first. My mistake.

Tarale: Both of those fallacies do not apply in this case. Assuming Tylenol and Weed are the same is just as safe as assuming that a tweeter and a subwoofer are the same. Both are sound devices and process a wave signal into vibrations, but the subwoofer only vibrates at a low frequency, while the tweeters will vibrate at any other frequency to give you perfect sound.

Sure, one subwoofer might have a bigger speaker than another one, but there is no denying they are subwoofers. Perhaps you should ask your doctor if you are concerned with the validity of my posts.

It's not that I am blind to the truth, it's what you choose to see that blinds you to the truth.

No, I still believe its Reductive Fallacy, as to say all drugs are the same, you're simplifying "drugs" down to the most basic of definitions. That its a substance introduced to the body which produces a physiological effect.

In doing so however, I could make a Reductio Ad Absurdum response that this means that Salbutamol (Ventolin) is the same as Crystal Meth. After all, they both have a physiological effect.

That means a 12 year old kid that needs their Salbutamol to live (or specifically to prevent death) is effectively the same as a crystal meth user, a heroin addict, or an alcoholic. It's all the same anyway.

It's okay though, they're all the same as me with my 3 shots of espresso in the morning. Mmmm... caffeine.

Playing with webfonts made me happy today. This font is "Georgia" and works on Windows and on Mac OS X. The font size is 1.2em.

I would like to use American Typewriter as a font, but this is only a default on Macintosh, and the closest default on Windows appears to be Courier New (eww. oh, and that's what you'll see in Windows... ha).

I really like American Typewriter.

Getting started on database stuff for my site made me happy too.

Well, I've noticed that height is specified in a lot of places -- this is something I tend to avoid except for specific instances. Why is height specifed so much?

I can't have a big look at this right now as I'm at work for the next 7.5 hours.

I would say it's more than just preference. But then I guess it depends if you care about accessibility or not.

Its not considered a good idea to use tables because of the way Screen Readers and such will try to read them. CSS allows you to structure your stuff based on content, making it a lot easy for visually impaired users to browse your page.

If you don't give a flying fuck about accessibility, then do whatever you like.

As for CSS support, it's quite well supported in most browsers, its just there are a few quirks that are likely to appear, particularly if you are not using valid code. As with all other code, it's a matter of testing in each browser.

I'm fussy with my coffee.

I pretty much only drink espresso. I might occasionally have a plunger coffee if I can find a suitable coffee blend though.

I used to just have a "flat white", which is supposed to be your espresso, then just warm milk all the way to the top.

I do not have sugar in my coffee.

Now I have a mocha latte. And I have it with three shots of espresso in it, so its a very strong mocha latte.

I will only get said mocha latte from a place called Bean Bar in Adelaide. They make the best coffee. It's marvellous, and strong.

I tried Starbucks as they opened their first Adelaide store here quite recently. Crap. Just.... very... mild... weak... average. I did not enjoy it. That will teach me to stray from my beloved Bean Bar.

See, I've heard the opposite -- that weight training can help you burn fat. The reason being is that muscle is metabolically active, and needs energy. Fat on the other hand doesn't.

I've been gaining weight a bit recently, although I think I've lost a touch the last week too. I think the weight I gained was some more muscle... I hope the weight I lost was fat.

That's another good thing about Bean Bar -- every coffee by default is two shots of espresso.

Their coffee is a nice, strong blend, and they make sure you can really properly taste it.

I always get three shots though Extra coffee... mmm... I really do love my mocha latte with three shots of espresso.

Some anime and videogames names aren't so bad...

Maya, Faye and Tifa come to mind as ones that I don't think are too bad.
