Arwon -- I'm scared of quite weird stuff too cause of a dream (at least, I think this was a dream) I had when I was little. All I remember is being all alone, directly in front of the TV in my darkened lounge room with nothing but a blue screen and illegible..something... on it. And the feeling that I wasn't supposed to be there and the tv knew it. I think it was a dream just because it still feels surreal. Creeped me out.

Pretty sure that's why TV Test Patterns and the Blue Screen of Death can often get me to involuntarily shudder and feel creeped out for no logical reason whatsoever. Besides, the Test Pattern used in Australia a lot is fucking weird, man...



That irks me even in a fully lit room. Yet I cannot help but stare at it (and twitch). Die, Phillips PM5544! Thank god for the almost... soothing.. 24 hour crap on TV nowadays. No more test cards, just sweet, sweet crappy Infomercials.

Note: Indian Head test card doesn't worry me at all, but almost all electronically generated ones do, and some older ones kinda irk me as well.

Nah, I still can't do it, at least not well enough to see anything clearly. I never got a single one of those Magic Eye things to work either back a decade or more ago.

I can cross my eyes, I can focus on things, I can make one eye "cross" and the other stare ahead (this creeps the hell out of people, it's funny) and I can unfocus -- but I've never been good at focusing behind something.

I can get a blur where the images cross into one.. singular... blur... it hurts my eyes like hell.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you have no depth perception.


I have issues with it in certain lighting. I wouldn't say "no" depth perception, but it gets pretty funky in twilight and evening. Ran a red light once that I thought was further away than it was. Optometrist says there's not a lot that can be done about that.

I dunno, but considering the guide seems centered around destroying the brain and I can't imagine that a car will do this very effectively....

I'd say cars are good for moving quickly through zombies and away from them? Although they have the noise issue so you'd have to go a long way away from them.....

Pfft, I'd call the cops just because it would (hopefully) force her to get help.

She sounds like she has Depression or something of that nature, it's clearly not being managed or treated right, maybe calling the cops will put some proper treatment into action.

Smoking pot's probably only gonna make her worse really -- while it has antidepressant properties, it's not all the best for getting her out in social situations, or for her being motivated and whatnot, and those kinds of things matter overall.

Hopefully police intervention will see to it that she gets help of some kind. I doubt you really don't care if she dies or not, it just sounds more to me like you're over all the bullshit.

Try not to blame her for the BS -- if it's really Depression, then she's not exactly in full control of the situation.

Well, she's got something because people generally don't act so self-destructive. Her behaviour is very similar to Depression (but could be a lot of other things), and just because she hasn't had it in the past doesn't mean it won't happen now or in the future.

Once I knew a recipe, I can then modify that recipe, or use techniques from that recipe for other stuff, but generally no, I can't just "wing it" with nothing to build from.

My friend who can do this thinks that I'm crazy or stupid or something because I will actually follow some recipes right down to the letter. But some recipes tend to definitely require more precision than others -- once I'm familiar with a recipe I know if I can just guess at amounts, or substitute ingredients, or not too.

And as I've said, it's not exactly my goal to get drunk and post here.

I get drunk... I stay out and continue to drink.. and then I come home here with a mission of drinking a quantity of water and taking vitamins over a moderate period of time, so that I don't feel too shithouse later.

What do I do while I'm drinking that water?

Bottle's been down for two hours now. But when I arrived home and posted the previous I was still maybe a touch tipsy.

Well, I was gonna do the counter thing, but every single script I've ever made has just suddenly broken.

It acts like there's no user input. So uh.. if a user enters something in, uh... it acts like they didn't. It outputs my error messages for "enter some data"
