Ahh.... what is it with me and clients this week?? 
I just had THE call of like FOREVER A woman deleted 171 files off the network from the Search function in Windows. The ONLY way to find out what the deleted files were was to VNC in, and write down the filenames and paths of all 171 of them to get the file restore request done.  Took me 1 hour, 20 minutes.

| Bleh. DRM has always struck me as a broken and anti-consumer idea in the first place.
I really think that the idea of "Fair Use" has gone down the toilet as far as the **IA are concerned. It's enough to drive one to deliberately do the wrong thing just in protest of the methods of these companies. |

| You can go play in the Wayback Machine to see Yahoo! back when it was a nice clean simple interface, and searches were an entirely different thing.
Google's changed a lot of stuff -- back before Google, I remember you had to submit links to search engines, and they were categorised a certain way -- and Yahoo! never added anything / fixed their broken links. I love Google. It's not often I can't find information via either it or Wikipedia  |

Meh, I like my GUI iTunes on OS X. 
I'm not sure what it's like to set up playlists on a CLI, but I really do like dragging and dropping stuff in iTunes on my Mac. On Windows I'll agree that iTunes is quite a bit slow and funny; but on the Mac it's spiffy and fast!  |

| See, I don't like PayPal -- it scares me. I've heard so much negative stuff about it it sounds like yet another financial disaster waiting to happen to me
I'm not sure I trust any of the web based systems with money actually, they all freak me out. The last thing I need is more problems with my money, I have enough of those
I think I might need to concentrate on budgeting and selling my PC and/or iPod But I don't want to sell either. |

| Actually, it's occurred to me that just about everything on a second disk on an album of Machine Gun Fellatio's is scary.
Butter My Arse with a Pigeon is funny though. Particularly when a playlist is on random and it just comes out of nowhere -- everyone else starts pulling weird, slightly frightened faces, and I do a little jig. |

| Hey all!
I'm still hopeless with PHP -- I have trouble remembering stuff cause I haven't had to apply a whole lot yet cause I haven't had miniprojects to do to work things out with.
I was thinking that I might be able to make a little thing to record my walking stuff -- ie, how far I walked, how long it took me, what my average speed was while doing it, etc. To do this, I think I need to learn database stuff, right? I've not done any of this yet. I understand that there is some information on database stuff on the mysql website, but I hear it's a bit tricky to understand for a n00b -- so is there anything easier out there for me to look at?? Any hints on what else I might need to have a handle on to record my walking stuff?? I might want to have it label personal bests too.... |

| Outside of Google, I'm afraid I haven't found that I can find as relevant results... I pretty much exclusively Google and have done so for many years.
That said, they use Dogpile at my former high school a lot... I just don't get why; I always find what I need faster with Google... |

| Sometimes I feel that I do quite well all of a sudden with the earlier Tony Hawk Pro Skater games. But by the same token I also have times when I'd just suck so amazingly hard at it that I am amazed at my own lack of coordination.
I dunno, I think there are a few games when you can go through phases of just being able to pull off every trick or move or whatever you try.... but I think all those games also have the downside where you just fail everything too at times
It's great when the good stuff lasts though |
