This sounds cool to me. I don't know if you know me at all, but I've been around since 2000 or so.

If I'm accepted, I have:

Wii
4 Wiimotes
4 Nunchuk(s?)
4GB SD Card
Red Steel
Excite Truck
TLoZ:TP
Call of Duty 3

(I gots ties to a Wal-Mart, BEOTCH. I'll have it tomorrow, 11/17/06)

I want:

Monster 4x4
Classic Controller
that Avatar game
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Tony Hawk Downhill Jam

As for my layout, try to make an NES-style color layout. I'll be painting my Wii like that.

As for comments, leave the wrist strap off. The Wiimote looks good already, as does the classic controller.

Awesome, I can't wait. A big thank you goes out to you, you're kickass to go and organize this. I'll post pics of my Retro NES Wii as soon as I get time to paint it.

Also, for more comments, you should make the cords on the icons more compact to cut down on the canvas size.

JDavis, you rock. This layout rocks hard.

I love the NES Boxart. The style of it is very nostalgic... brings a tear to my eye.

Posted on 11-27-06 06:09 PM, in Okay, WTF is it with these hilly levels in SMB3!? Link
I fixed my last problem with hilly levels and fully recovered that level.

So, I started fresh. I deleted all sprites, and 3 and 4 byte objects and started anew. Same thing I did with my other non Hilly/Underground levels. But upon entering, it just hangs at the last note of the "level entrance" melody and a black screen. I noticed the original level had a "Nothing" in the top left corner, so I put one of those in there. Same object number. That didn't change anything though. I followed all of the causes of a level crash in the help file in SMB3W and I still get the error. I can't for the life of me figure out what the fuck is wrong here.

Posted on 11-27-06 07:50 PM, in Wii=UNRESPONSIVE??? Say It Ain't So!! Link
Excite Truck does not use the sensor bar at all. It just uses the motion sensors inside the remote itself.

The sensor bar does not send any information whatsoever to the console. It merely provides an infra-red light source for the controller to look at. You can make your own sensors with casual LEDs and AA batteries, Flashlights, or even candle light. If any of you have Excite Truck, just tuck your sensor bar away somewhere and try to play. No difference at all.

The only function I've seen that requires the use of a sensor bar is the pointing aspect.

EDIT: As far as the unresponsiveness goes, Excite Truck is the isolated cause. It tends to "reset" itself after turning the Remote too far to the left or right.

Happy Birthday. I'm too lazy to look for other "Happy Birthday Colin" threads. So, here's hoping this is the only one.

24 is still a youthful age, I hope life's going well for you.

I love how you gave the blocks more depth. It brings out the best of the old blocks and it looks really good too. As for the 8x48 moving platform, it should be redone to look like the 16x48: more color to the wood. It'd look awesome that way, IMO. Also, the yellow ! switch is shaded weird at the bottom where the yellow meets the metal base. It shouldn't be shaded at all, since it's cylindrical in design.

Looks good though, and keep up the good work!

Posted on 12-11-06 01:16 PM, in How did you learn Hexadecimal? Link
I learned hex by the use of a GameShark. I learned how to make cheats in Pokemon this way. I then moved on and found Acmlm about a year later and started playing the hacks that people made, while all the time wondering how this was accomplished. It was back in the TEK-Hacks days when I was a member did I truly realize that hexadecimal was useful for other things as well.

How did you learn? Post your thoughts.

I did something like this a (long) while back, but I forgot how I did it. MegaDog knows the locations of the ROM in which the object definitions are stored. Perhaps someone else knows... I used to have it but it was lost in a HD crash.

The door uses tile $A0 for its door. Perhaps you can use the PPU viewer to find it.

You'd also have to write code so that either they flip the tiles or use a different object for the doors. All I did was make it symmetrical for mine so that when it is flipped, it looks the same. Another thing is, you'd have to design your door around the palette limitations that Metroid has.

The door looks kickass though.

I agree with you there, Colin. Math isn't hard for me, it's just can be time consuming and tedious. I don't like it.

I liked the poetry though, SWR! Good work! ....But who the fuck in the right mind would mix two subjects?

I just realized... this sounds a lot like a BOT made this thread. Sometimes they come in here and post shit like this... And if this be the case--

An advertising bot made a thread that is popular and didn't get closed? There's Acmlm for ya...

Anyways, I'd also like a T-Shirt of a handicapped guy on the front with the words "I'm gonna kick your fucking ass."

Hmmm.... what's a weird gift to give someone for Christmas?

A Dreidel?
a 486?
A Super Mario Bros. cartridge with crushed bananas inside?
A syringe with kool-aid in it?
Windows XP on a few floppy disks? *KP9000 looks at Acmlm*

I'd personally give my brother a 20 oz. bottle of Mountain Dew with piss inside instead of the actual product.

"Holy Crap".... I'm gonna miss that guy. He's the best character in that show. Tells things like it is, and isn't afraid to do so.

He was also in the movie "Young Frankenstein" and was a monk at one time.

71 is a good run though. He seemed like he lived life to its fullest.

Actually it does. Age affects rational and critical thinking, which is important in a game like this. I've played enough games with various age groups to spot the difference. It's a very subtle difference, but it's there.

I for one hope that one of the Golden Sun characters makes it. I loved that franchise.
And please, for the love of fucking cinnamon rolls, NO MORE POKEMON.
